Westerners need to stop looking at non-western ways of governing as "backwards" or inherently "wrong" just because they're not western. Let the people of Somaliland choose the way they want to govern themselves, taking into consideration their culture, religion and traditions and the country will know peace and prosperity. Try to impose democracy and secularism and you'll have chaos like Afghanistan. This Hargeisa Area government called Somaliland is run by 1 tribe called IDOR or Isaaq and 1 party called SNM. And by only showing the House of Elders, you portray Somaliland as a backwards nation ruled by tribal elders. We have parliamentary and presidential elections that have been shown to be free and fair. The nation had to completely rebuild after the collapse of the Somali Republic and though it has a long way to go, Somaliland should be commended for its progress so far.
