Or one can simultaneously loathe him and admit that the current president has clearly been battling increasing overt senility for several years now and is now getting lost at events, has trouble negotiating spatial distances with steps, and loses his train of thought in the middle of sentences, with all of this growing worse in recent months to the point that it seems clear he’s being handled and isn’t even the one in charge. So there’s no real actual president leading anything, just a committee of democrats calling the shots. Trump can still be a scumbag and Biden can also be a withering husk chasing after his last marbles. It’s possible to be honest with yourself and the world about it.
