Wild animals, at times, are, at first glance, difficult to tell apart. But last night we had some distinct individuals that could be identified by gender, tail shape, and behavior. The large male coyote in the first few scenes who eventually peed in the bowl along with the female. The female had teats that had at some point fed pups. The large male had an elevated, bushy tail. Another male came along in the wee hours with a very scraggly tail, possibly from mange. The javelina that I call Bubbles is unique is that he is the only one I've seen, besides the babies, that blows bubbles before he drinks. The birds at the end are rarely, if ever, seen at the water bowls. One was the American Finch (I believe) and the other was a juvenile phainopepla. The adult male phainopepla are jet black.
