Damn, new Guthrie content. I know he's having a stand against crowds recording his gig rather than just enjoying it, but I for one definitely grateful for bits like this where he didn't play his usual repertoire. Thanks for uploading this !

It was such a great gig at one of my favourite venues! I understand that - I didn't record the vast majority of it as I was just hanging on every note. I can't believe that drummer was only with them for 2 days! This is just a (unique) sample that I couldn't resist...

Guthrie is such an incredibly beautiful person, I’ll try to digest anything he is involved with, and there will always be some beyond happening with him, long live gg, he’s a musical godfather, or a steward of the craft. For dis guy to not have been through any pre programmed avenues into such literally jawdropping musicianship speaks to his insane repertoire of technique and how it’s all music and aesthetic for him, maybe boobz too I hope

Overall prefer DG as well, easier listening and meditative, but Guthrie is a legitimate genius musician. His work with Hans Zimmer, Steven Wilson, Aristocrats and his own Erotic Cakes album etc is incredible. I couldn't even try to compare the two in any way. I'd say both are "la crème de la crème" at what they do.

So tired of this argument. DG is a blues player. Great. But not even close to what Guthrie can do. If you can’t hear passion and soul in Guthrie’s playing, you don’t know the first thing about guitar players or music.

@@brianomoli4 Agreed, I can replicate anything Gilmore can do and throughout the years have come up with those same simple ideas, Guthrie is in a class of his own, I can do maybe 1/10th if that of what this genius can do.
