It was a bold move to visually mix the philosophical ideas of Locke's "Essay Concerning a Human Understanding" with Immanuel Kant's "Critique of Pure Reason". It forces us, the viewers, to engage with a Jungian acausal connection to the grass vis a vis the trees (with the trees representative of the mind's inherent ability to divorce itself from the known and embrace the unknown even though the unknown cannot be experienced...obviously). And layering Ayn Rand's concept of "Objectivism", where the concept of man as a heroic being, with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity, and reason as his only absolute was a nice--if intellectually challenging--touch. Many viewers might miss that in the placement of the river, but I appreciated it.

Omg. Takes me back to this movie I made about grass, each blade had its own personality. The imagination and many voices me and friends did for each blade of grass. Being a nerd out in the country was hard at times, but I found my people. Lol good clean fun. Perfect for my personality, I kept others out of trouble, it was always a nice time. I wouldn't have it any other way.

As grass goes, Bernard is lucky to have grown here, by the river, and not in someone's yard/garden. That would be a totally different experience. "Lawnmower Man" showing up once a week, chopping off the new growth. Children, dogs, cats... all rushing around, tumbling... and possibly defecating on him! Here, by the river though, the sky goes by, the trees whisper, storms come and go, possibly a squirrel runs passed. Life is peace-filled, soft. Even in the harshness of winter, peace abounds. Get well soon, Mr. Penge. The Lovely People miss your shenanigans.

It's odd you should mention that, with my voice quite diminished I was thinking about what I could do and a sort of calm asmr-esque video came to mind! I will enquire with a poll I think, see what people's thoughts are.

I wonder if knotgrass finds the knots uncomfortable. How does it feel to have 3/4 of your body chopped off every week in the summer but to stay alive and keep growing? Is each blade of grass an individual, or does a tuft identify as a single entity? Are ALL the roots connected underneath, like a giant family? This video is bringing out my philosophical side... haha! Feel better soon
