If Marilyn hated doing this kind of roles it really didn’t show. It’s so perfect and obviously she poured her heart into playing the role

Saw this classic movie for the first time last year. Now I understand why it's constantly rated in the top 10 of all time. Sheer delight and joy - Ms Monroe, Jack Lemmon and especially Tony Curtis are terrific. As a Brit I'm impressed with the OTT Cary Grant accent.

Rest in peace, Mr. Curtis. Maybe one of the most underrated actors (and comedian when called for) ever. One of my favorite scenes of his from "Some Like It Hot" as his character attempts a deliberately hokey Cary Grant impersonation to woo Marilyn Monroe.

i just heard the sad news of tony curtis' passing at the age of 85.he was a great actor in his times with a movie career spanning 60 years.he had the charm on women even here with the bombshell marilyn monroe.he was even good in the uk television cop series the persuaders alongside sir roger moore.i even enjoyed his version of harry houdini which is a favorite of mine apart from the defiant ones with sidney poiter.he shall surely be missed by his fans.

A reminder that they even took advantage of Cary’s alleged reaction to hearing Tony’s impersonation of him (“I don’t talk like that...!”) in the scene following this one-you’ll recall that when Joe was in the bubble bath (revealing shortly after that he was in there in full Shell Oil Jr. regalia, proving he indeed beat Jerry back to their room), and was chiding Joe for his ‘millionaire’ act, he made a point to bring up the phony accent, by pointedly remarking, in a damn good Cary impersonation of his own, I might add, “Nobody talks like that...!”

@@nhmooytis7058 I’ll give you some of my favourite “modern (ish)” filmmakers and you really can’t go wrong with any of their work but I’ll throw in specific recommendations of some of my favourites: Wes Anderson (Grand Budapest Hotel) Woody Allen (Midnight in Paris) Quentin Tarantino (Inglourious Basterds) Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead) Martin McDonagh (In Bruges) The Coen Brothers (O Brother, Where Art Thou?) I don’t want this to become a novel of a comment, but if you would like some more recommendations I’d be happy to oblige.
