Hey MaCenna I never comment but have been a subscriber for a long time and just want to say that I really love and appreciate your videos. My mom and dad did a complete remodel an 1890 farm house when I was a kid. It was in rough shape and the wrap around porch was caved in and the home was mostly unlivable. My parents put the blood sweat and tears in that home and it was the happiest times of my childhood. They sold the home when I was a teenager and I still miss it but watching your videos brings back a lot of memories of going to thrift stores and antiques shops to find stuff to decorate the home. We didn’t have a ton of money but honestly as a child I would have never known. My mom and grandma made it an exciting adventure to find cool new things. Actually my grandma ended up working at an antique store she loved it so much😂. Thank you for making these videos and just know I really enjoy and look forward to your new videos😊

I'm so happy that you're going to do all the cottages because I got absolutely addicted to these building/reno videos during the last year and the journey of this house. I might have already said that in another comment but I used to only really watch room makeovers, like interior design kind of videos? and I've fallen deep and hard into the rabbit hole of renovation videos and building stuff. I'm so excited at how far this house has come and I am getting more excited the closer you are to closing it up and moving in, but at the same time I'm gonna be in withdrawal once this house is done. Thankfully we have the guest cottages to look forward to. It looks so amazing when you look at the exterior of the house and how far it's come. I really hope you're going to do a before and after once everything is completely finished and you styled it and decorated it and moved in, because I feel like I can't even remember how it looked before all this! Love it! Looks really good! You should paint all the window next. Paint exterior of the house and then up all the windows in so when you get insulation and drywall installed nothing gets ruined by the weather. The house really should be closed up before insulation and sheetrock is installed. You could even put up all the lights cause 99% of the exterior will be done. I would wait on the floors except I would put down temporary floor over the holes so no one gets hurt installing insulation and rocking.

Lawn Pirate! I started watching a year ago, and I love every "episode". I am an interior designer who grew up in thrift shops with my mom. I have an eclectic mix of old and new in my 95 year old bungalow, many of my furniture pieces are from thrifting, and antique fairs. I painted the exterior of my houses original siding this summer. When you first used your new paint sprayer the sound brought back memories. Your hard work is paying off and I am thrilled that you had a fun day and played hooky to celebrate. The disco ball is an outdoor yard ornament. I bought one several years ago. There is a separate light that points toward the disco ball that reflects the revolving light back to the house that creates a snowfall effect on your house. You can adjust the speed to make it look like it’s snowing harder. I loved mine. I think it is a Hammacher Schlemmer. I moved a few years ago to another area but I believe mine died after twenty or so years. I would love to find another, because it is very unique. I’m a subscriber who completely relates to your excitement in renovating and decorating with thrift store finds. Cant wait to see the finished results of your house!

I am so excited for you and how amazingly well this project is going. It's so much fun to watch each step and I am loving Vlogmas!!!! It's making my December so much fun! I wanted to share one thought on finishing your floors. I have renovated a lot of houses so this is my 2 cents, lol. Oil polyurethane is much better/stronger/more durable than water-based. It takes longer to dry and smells more but in the long run, it is much better. Also, I have found that 3 coats is needed of either one. And, if you do a semi-gloss finish for coats one and two and a satin finish for coat number three you really bring out the depth of the woods but still end up with a fairly matte final coat. Definitely good to get a water softener. Not sure what the water in your area was like, but when I was living in an area with very hard water my skin started to smell slightly metallic from showering. Not to mention the minerals can build up in your pipes and cause low water pressure or a pipe to burst.
