Not gonna lie, I LOVE the deep dive on a lot of things, but this format is PERFECT for showing off gear. Love this!

Don’t worry, the deep dives are going nowhere and there will probably still be a proper look at LVL in the not too distant future. But I’m glad the short form has some appeal because I really did like being able to carve out a day to showcase some stuff that might not otherwise make sense to do a whole video on

Honestly I have NO idea why you don’t have 100k subscribers yet. Absolutely amazing writing/playing on the demos in every single video, and every video is awesome

Appreciate that a ton, thank you. I am good with the slow growth rate, to be honest. Having the channel blow up would be great of course and would give me the space needed to work on bigger and more ambitious projects for the channel, but a slower rate helps keep the negative attention / friction that inevitably comes with sharing your music on the internet to a minimum. So its an OK trade off.

could not agree more. The quality of this channel is absolutely worth 100k+ subs. Easily.

1981 LVL is sooooooo good, and I'm a fancy boost fiend. So glad I found this video and your impassioned take on it to push me over the edge-traded something I barely use for it and am in love. It has that compressed but dynamic punchiness of the DRV b ut cleaner, stacks into DRV amazing of course. 1981 Inventions batting 2 for 2 100%. and the best pop punk album ever is Propagandi's Less Talk, More Rock.

😂 outstanding. Love this shallow dive format because like you said, sometimes I just don’t have 45 minutes to watch knob twiddling. love your channel

I bought the LVL to use on my bass. It sounded rad, but I’m not sure I’d choose it over my other overdrive options. Also, I 100% agree about ‘Forget and Not Slow Down’.

Does the Galaxy not have Saturation , I think Reverb and Saturation is the Sound you want from a Space Echo Tape Machine, you can add an fuzz or something but the Saturation and the Pre Amp combined with the reverb of a roland space echo is one of the best gain stages you can have. I lke deep dive more when it comes to complex things, inrespect for the 1981 it was nice to have it short , because it is not that complex, so there are fast most Questions answered, in that case would prefer it short, to the drum kit it was also enough to make notice of this as new gear for me...... but you made already a movie about how you use drums and also where you mix pedals with the 1981 - I would have done a link to that in the movie here and say some words about, so everyone can also see more of the gear or how you would use it and for the movie it just takes a few seconds to make the link and say few words, you might do it in different way so it still is aesthetic to your movies they are great produced, maybe you do the links then only in the description and not in the movie when you think it would kill the aesthetic, like you want. I mean these are all really great movies you have done and some might miss them , but would be helpful for them and a bit sad , also for the work you did put into it.

sir, do you have a favorite tape echo delay?
@markjohnstonofficial
@markjohnstonofficial Жыл бұрын
I have a real tape echo (the Echofix EF-X3) and it’s maybe the best sounding delay I’ve ever used. In the digital realm I would say that in the balance between sound quality and feature set the main three I would look at are the Strymon El Cap, Volante, and the UAFX Galaxy

@@markjohnstonofficial you put your image on a screen for all to see and you'll get some off topic comments and opinions... you should know, it's KZbin and this happens all the time Trying to help a fellow long haired guy out . You can do what everyone else here does and that's block unwanted comments and deny whatever some schmuck says on the internet, or actually take it into consideration . But that's easier said than done. Cause 99% of people dodge and deny criticism . Anyway, love your gear reviews and playing ! Cheers

Don't need to see my hair to be able to point out that the dudes hair is objectively dried out and wirey . And leave in conditioner will go a long way . And I don't think that IF I had shit hair and didn't know how to take care of it , that I would dare comment on someones hair who could use some help .

This is the most important comment of the year. 😂 First, leave in conditioner my guy?! If you are serious about your hair, you'd know that a Keratin treatment is actually what will help dry hair, and not the quick treatment, the full salon deal that takes a few hours. And get that like, at least, once a season. You fucked up, amateur hour, Prell and Pantene using novice ass nOOb. Mark is HEAD AND SHOULDERS above you.
