Hey! It's been a while. Was it worth the wait? How about that intro? I know the scanlines are a bit cheesy but it was the only way I was naturally going to get out of Viacom blocking my video lol. Kinda sucks you don't get to see all the little details but I'll live, as long as you all actually see the video. Regarding the lore, it's finally picking up steam! Sorry it took so long, those scenes take a lot of time and patience, I take pride in how smooth the images look layered on top of the footage. But they do take a while lol. And finally, there are plenty of licensed kids games that deserve to be talked about. Are there any other games you think I missed and are worth talking about? I might possibly spin your ideas off into a possible part 2 there is support for it. That's all from me, take care!

Other licensed games I loved were Disney's Bolt (which were episodes of the tv show Bolt was in in the movie), Legends of the Guardians (basically owl dogfight flight simulator) Wall-E and Toy Story 3, and Over the Hedge which was basically a playable sequel to the film. Say what you will about the gameplay, but I don't think anyone can deny the writers manged to perfectly keep the spirit of the show and charcters with what little they could work with. @@Apolleh hey, don't talk trash about my boy Junior. he did manage to literally kill a majority of the cast in a single episode. what's Dracula's kill count, hm? that's what i thought. i don't think we ever played as Jack, really. we liked playing as the chaos god (forgot her name), Hoss, or some other random reoccurring villain from the show. it was crazy the amount of character specific dialogue they recorded for the game. characters have quotes for if they kill a specific character or die in a specific place. it's like they put on an insane amount of effort and also none at the same time. the show gave me a love for dark humor and that weird early 2000s emo aesthetic. so yeah, i was also one of those kids who loved halloween and horror movies.

It's hard to really call it a sequel but they use the same engine and has a bit more depth to the gameplay because you use tools to help you get through each level. I'm sure it's a bit more entertaining than the first game. May be worth checking out for sequel video. Tom and Jerry also had a fighting game similar to The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy video game called "War of the Whiskers". However that game only has one on one combat.

Apparently there's some union thing where they can't just rerecord Mr. Krabs' lines without rerecording everyone else's lines as well. Breaking Da Rules was indeed painful and awkward but I always liked it for at least trying to adhere to the series in terms of comedy and tone. The lack of budget was very clear especially since cutscene dialogue couldn’t overlap - this is a problem because Butch Hartman likes the “everybody laughs” ending, and did it a few times, which resulted in Timmy, Cosmo and Wanda laughing for a minute each. I still thought some of it was fun and I liked how each episode changed up the format and gameplay. The Badge Too Far was a stealth level (as a kid I was intimidated), the Crimson Chin level was a superhero caper, the bathtub and alien levels were sci-fi, the video game one was self explanatory. I remember being terrified of being caught by Crocker in the school level, it’s crazy how a mostly inept villain caused the entire lighthearted tone of the game to drop dead in his presence in a single scene. As a matter of fact, the mostly quiet atmosphere made the game much creepier and ominous than it was supposed to be. Fairly OddParents is a zany rapid fire comedy and the lack of prominent score made things creepier. Another super memorable moment was when you’re a dog being chased by Tootie. I played that when I too was at an age where I was not quite ready for romance so being chased by the girl who had a huge crush on Timmy was alarming. 😂

I played the ratitoullie videogame on pc as a kid. The texture problems and stuff like that werent really there. Ive played alot of licensed games and I gotta say its really under rated. Great amount of content in the game. Its honestly pretty good for a 3d platformer. It has bonus worlds of food and cooking mini games. The environments shown were fun and the soundtrack was so great. Definitely worth checking out

I wonder if you will cover more licensed games in the future? Ones from Toy Story, Cars, Jimmy Neutron, Shrek and maybe licenses that are tied with brands like Hot Wheels and Lego, perhaps?

I believe the reason for keeping the gameplay 1:1 was for the speed running community because Shift was a consultant for the game

Apparantly from what I heard, the reason mr krabs voice actor isn't in this game is because when revenge of the flying dutchman was released, (which he actually did voice mr krabs) the game was so negatively received, he didn't want to voice mr krabs in any more spongebob games.

I remember playing a couple of the games you mentioned. I enjoyed playing The Simpsons: Hit and Run and a couple of the Scooby-Doo games, like Mystery Mayhem. As for Pixar's licensed games, I don't really remember playing them much.

Luigi's Mansion 1 for me will always be the best of the 3, not too long, plenty of content, and honestly I prefer the 3DS remake simply because the Hidden Mansion is actually challenging.

Yo I loved this video. Interesting thing to note about the Spongebob game, a huge part of why the game was kept the same mechanically and design wise was because the games big cult following was due to the speedrunning community built around the games exact mechanics and designs. so they opted to keep basically everything the same, gotta agree that they took that too far by keeping in the old Mr Krabs voice instead of re recording new lines.
@omo70023 жыл бұрын
Ratatouille on the DS was pretty good, it is a mix of 3d platforming and cooking mama (if I can compare it to anything). Also my first video game was the Cars video game, so that one will always have a soft spot in my heart, and it's actually pretty good with a few glaring issues.

The simpsons hit & run brings back so many childhood memories: the music, the gameplay, the voice acting, the cut scenes... I really wish they would do a remake, just like they did with spongebob. But since EA has got the rights for the simpsons games, I’m sure it would turn out to be a total disaster. In this case it’s better to enjoy hit & run from back in the days of 2003, instead of dealing with plenty of micro transactions and buggy gameplay with patches coming out every month. Definitely one of my all time top 3 games.

I think one issue with the "not terrible" licensed games is that they are uninspired. I was gullible as a kid, so I bought a few, and now I realized they all were heavily inspired by another game that did it better. Battle for bikini bottom was great though. Also, great video, and legendary opening.
@sheepswool3 жыл бұрын
I had Hit & Run, Battle for Bikini Bottom, and the Ratatouille game on my PlayStation 2. Ratatouille was the only one I just couldn’t get in to. I struggled with controls too much and the crab enemies in the kitchen made the level way more stressful than it needed to be, but it wasn’t a bad game. The other two games I played the heck out of and still revisit to this day
