I've still got my Eko 12-string acoustic that I bought new in the mid '70s. It's built like a tank and has never let me down, but I've neglected it shamefully and haven't played it for probably 8-10 years. Seeing this video, I've just given it a strum and... would you believe it? - it's still nigh on in tune! I reckon it deserves a fresh set of strings and some TLC and playing again! 😎

I own a blue sparkle Eko Camaro like the one in the vid. It has the most comfortable and reliable neck and with its p90s it delivers a classy Jazz tone. I play gigs with it and even played this guitar at jazz festivals. Paid it only 200€, new… a hidden treasure , a gem of an instrument ! Just try it to believe

Got the Eko S300V MN guitar for about 2 years now and it's just a steal for the price! Here in Italy Ekos are well known from the 60s and in the recent years, thanks to the work of awesome musicians like Massimo Varini and Roberto Fontanot, the company rose from the ashes and began producing these new lines of guitars! And like the Camaro they are unique in the market! Thanks a lot to bring them to channel Andy 🤜🤛🎸🔥

Just before I start watching, I'll mention that have three budget EKO Electrics, amazing value. The DV10 (SG style) has an amazing build quality and playability is on par with 'G' branded guitars. I also have a VT-380 (Tele style) which came with some fret sprout, but once fixed is a lovely guitar to play, finally I have a Daphne blue S-300 (Strat style), again, for the low cost is incredible. Hardly anyone knows these in Australia, and only one outlet sells them here. I'll never sell mine... :) OK - now to the video..

What i love about Eko is that they put 14" radius on all their guitars, so it's not just a regular carbon copy of the obvious source.

Like others here - I still have my Eko Rio Grande that I bought in the mid 70’s - and it’s the one guitar I’ll never part with! I’ve got it strung with ball-end classicals - and the combination with the D sized body gives a lovely tone for late night playing - and it doesn’t disturb the neighbours! I’d really love one of their semi-acoustics or a gypsy-style guitar!

I had an EKO 12 string acoustic back in the 80s it was okay and sounded good. I paid a tenner for it and sold it for 25 quid because I got fed up of tuning a 12 string lol the fickle teenager I was in 1980. I then bought a Hondo 2 new wave for £70 (just over 2 weeks wages!) it was an utter bag of crap. I then got an ovation semi which was wonderful till my mate sat on it. Ok memory lane ramble over(I'm 58 now)! and have way too many guitars so says my wife!

I started with a X-27, 40 years ago. Then the 12 strings...next a strat. We make these instruments in Recanati italy since 1900. Eko started with accordions and mandolins.

I would be very interested in measurements of the "Low C" neck profile and whether the nut is more like 1.625" or 1.650" wide (I have seen "42mm nut" as a specification for both widths).

Eko might have got the smallerbody right, but still 25.5 inch scale. Perhaps if they followed their design idea through to a smaller 24 inch scale. That would make more sense of the Camaro being their version of a Mustang.

The Ball family starved George Fullerton and Leo Fender out of Music Man (back when it was an amp company, started by former Fender employees, which offered subcontracted guitars), which led the pair to create G&L Guitars. The Ball family stole the Guitar Max system from PMT (using a strategy straight out of Microsoft's playbook) roughly 30 years later, after which the former marketed the "Game Changer" so badly as to demonstrate that they had no understanding of the invention they hijacked. PMT may have been ordered to remain silent on the subject, but I am an individual inventor of an electric-guitar circuit who happened to catch the story when everything was still out in the open. As far as I am concerned, anything the Ball family markets is fair game.

Ok this is totally my opinion and subjective, but why do the less expensive guitars and brands have such corny names on the headstock or have terrible logo/fonts? The only one that looks decent is the gold Harley Benton. Like are they doing this on purpose? Also I am not saying expensive guitars are not without their cheese. I think the TYLER headstock looks like a giant pelican neck. I can't stand it.

there just buying Chinese stuff from curve and rebranding .. sad the new EKO is just someone making a cash grab on the name and peoples love of the history, and its all knock off fenders or Gibson 335 then a offset. I bet with some careful looking the tele is another Alibaba rebrand haha

Couple years ago I bought an EKO Ranger acoustic reissue. Total garbage. Bad workmanship, terrible playability, and the intonation is nonexistant. A vintage Ranger however is a pretty sweet instrument.
