If anyone disagrees with this comment then I am sorry The video 0:14 - 0:18 was horrible the rider was a bad loser smacking the bushes with his whip while his horse is injured with his/her head stuck on the jump Sorry but that's just my opinion

Yeah I agree if I fell like that I would worry about my horse not the show I mean the horse could have gotten really hurt and no one likes a hurt horse or a horse put to sleep and why would someone smack a bush because of the horse I mean it's beautiful and he horse was probably scared and the jump but took it but miss or took the jump to long. I hate those people who only care about winning..not about the horse. I would cry like for days if my horse got stuck like that so I agree very much that he/she was a very sore loser to just hit the bush because the horse got stuck and hey miss the jump I mean you learn from your mistakes right?

No actually it's the horse opening it's mouth to avoid the bit. It is bad for a horse to do that because the rider can lose full control of the horse. if someone has a horse like that usually they use a flash

Also, a good reason to have strong upper body strength. So if the horse does rear, she can hold herself up and hold on to the horses neck instead of causing pain for the horse.

The last fail... I can only say one thing: poor horse! It bucks and rears because the girl pulls on the reigns while jumping, and many people would say: well sat! She doesn't fall because of the reins, not her seat or legs. This has no merit. This is worse!
@HorsesMyloves10 жыл бұрын
No, may you give me the name? I just think that the less she can do is try to fix that problem without having to pull those reins so hard.
@liiinaaaG10 жыл бұрын
I agree pulling the reins only does bad.
@Fortifygalaxy2119710 жыл бұрын
You know its kind of hard not to pull the reins when you're in mid buck like that. Its a human reflex to hold on and what do you want her to do? fall off the back and majorly hurt herself? It's not that easy to just "not pull on the reins" she was trying to get her horse out of the one stride because it didn't feel right to her and he was very green back then and he had a horrible bucking fit problem. That video is almost from maybe 2 years ago. Her youtube name is TheEventer4 and I think you'll see the difference with the horse in recent videos.
@HorsesMyloves10 жыл бұрын
I'll take a look later. I know everybody makes mistakes, I know she must have improved a lot since then, but if I knew that my horse ALWAYS bucks like that (this is what I've understood from one of the comments, that the horse always did that), I would try to fix the problem before continuing jumping. This would avoid a lot of bucks, falls, rears.. That's my opinion. I'm not saying I would have done better. All the opposite, I would have fallen at the first rear, but this situation can be avoid.
@Fortifygalaxy2119710 жыл бұрын
Yea its a pretty old video from her and he doesn't have that problem anymore lol. He was really green back then and was a little naughty but you should really look at her recent videos because he doesn't even seem like the same horse you see in this video :)

I understand what people are saying but I saw a few comments stating along the lines of "if you fall your a bad rider"(not exactly in that context) NO. That does not mean you're a bad rider if you fall! People do make mistakes like the ladies and gentlemen in this video. Some may be bad riders but I believe the majority are good riders but made accidents whether it was the rider's fault or the horse being an asshole.

Why on earth would you go tackless without a body protector on when it is clearly the horse's first time riding tackless and you keep on hitting him with the whip and expecting him to ride perfectly like what do you expect.
@roradunn9 жыл бұрын
I don't agree with the way she was hitting him but he isn't my horse so I have no idea how he behaves. But if you look at my other videos I mainly go tackless with nothing at all even without a hat so don't see why you should have to wear a body protector? Obviously I don't dictate to what people should and shouldn't do, just my opinion

@Courtmaster12110 жыл бұрын
I don't think he was eating (I could be wrong). He might have injured his neck or poll which might've caused him to do that. I don't know but the girl yanked _way_ too much on the reins.
@wirinaholstein407610 жыл бұрын
Oh, didn't think of that. But I actually believe you're right. And when we fall there's very often not much focus on the horse even though it is SO common that an off balanced and falling rider will yank and pull the reins and also often even force the neck and back of the horse, down in the fall and falling with a fixated neck and front legs and back.
@wirinaholstein407610 жыл бұрын
It's a shame we can't see the bruises we may cause to our horses. I once as a teenager, was in a jump-race and we were in front but my horse started coming a bit off front, when running towards the jumps.
@wirinaholstein407610 жыл бұрын
Frightened as I were of loosing our very likely first place to come, I started with my weight and leg pressure BUT also the reins to force him in to go straight towards the jumps. He probably started the slightly sideways moving in front of the jumps because he felt insecure, threatened by the other horses, confused, tired, intimidated or what not.

It's a pity that all the horses been whipped, don't have the change to whip back the rider. They can't really do anything else than accept the misconception that they are bad horses or bad behaving horses. They can't even show the discomfort and pain. Several riders in this video needs to learn how to correct and train a horse that is behaving badly. Stop whipping them and blaming them, would be the first thing ...
@katyrose112910 жыл бұрын
The girl who rides the brown horse does not know how to handle him and he knows that. He needs someone to re-train this vice because this girl is only rewarding the act. She jumps off him (exactly what he wants her to do) when he starts bucking, watch when they are in the pasture, he bucks her off and puts his head down and continues to eat. There are professional horsemen out there, use them!
@prettyponybaby200710 жыл бұрын
Im not professional but have dealt with horses like that.... I'd 1. Get his saddle checked to make sure it fit and he wasnt having back issues and 2. if he wasnt having back issues, we'd be doing circles, TIGHT circles... hard to buck when doing those circles, and they are a lot more work than bucking..... hence, bucking= more work.

I was on foot (70yo) one day walking between lines of people at team penning, all sitting on their horses like they was on a grandstand. So I spotted one at the rail with its rump a bit near, moved away to give it a wide berth, better some heads than the heels of that one. The horse ran backwards into me, the bloke yelling "Get out of the way!" and booting and pulling at it and the horse in a total panic and me jumping repeatedly out of the way. I sussed the situation and yelled 'LET HIS HEAD GO!" and it all stopped. I never saw how it started but suspect the horse had turned his head to watch me, and the bloke had panicked and grabbed it, some old syndrome between them. As he looked behind for where I was, and savaged the horse, that horse had backed exactly the way it was being guided! Good horse, I reckoned, far too good for the idiot on it. Ladies and gentlemen, you cannot buy horse-sense! You either have it or you don't, and if your horse repeatedly tells you to get off, please stay off. It is never the horse's fault.

Ok so I've got a question for y'all English riders. Before I ask this, no I am not the best rider, no I don't think I'm perfect. Just a question. When y'all ride are y'all using the bit as leverage? Cause from the videos and people I have seen riding it looks like y'all are really tight on the reins and bit. From what I've seen there is no such thing as loose rein in the English riding world. Again just asking I don't ride with a bit, or whips, or Spurs, I just ride in a rope halter and mostly pleasure ride. The most I've ever jumped has been logs out on trails.

At about 3:20 I can see that the rider has pretty bad pulling issues. I had problems like this when I started jumping, and let me tell you, it did not end well. When the horse lands, it naturally lowers it's head a bit so releasing gives it room to move. If your arms are rigid the the horse is kind of yanked. Imagine it as if you suddenly pulled on the reigns really sharply, and then add the horse having to land correctly.

To Jayla Barker: NO horse ever should have the crap beaten out of them and I think it is disgusting that you would say that. That is animal abuse, it is illegal and immoral. Horses are not slaves that should do whatever their owners want them to do. They are exquisitely sensitive animals who should be treated with respect.
@OneMoreMileAnHour9 жыл бұрын
They should do whatever their owners want them to, if not it's a dangerous situation. I wouldn't want to handle or ride an animal almost 10x my weight and way bigger/faster/stronger than me if it didn't do what I said or if I couldn't control it. That's how problem horses happen; people who let horses make their own decisions. They HAVE to do what you say.

There are so many things wrong with this! First of all, when your horse falls on the ground like that they should get a break! Second, she is not letting go of the reins and ripping her horses face off! Third, she’s being so dumb getting on a horse like that! Fourth, that horse is obviously not trained! Fifth, where is the saddle pad??? You should mostly ride with a saddle pad! Bareback or not!! Overall, all this videos are terrible!!

If your horse is rearing why would you pull on its mouth some people do not no how to ride
@lexifeldmann53538 жыл бұрын
When a horse is rearing that high, no specific video in mind really, don't haul your reins back! you are basically telling your horse the only way out is up and over. I know you want to cling onto something but lean forward and grab the neck or mane or if in western and you have a breast collar, grab that so when they do rear, you aren't pulling your own weight back on the reins to tip them backwards!

The 3rd guy should not be owning a horse! I can't believe how annoyed he was when his horse didn't make the jump. It wasn't the horses fault that it didn't make it, it was his fault. I hate to think what he'd do after he took the horse home. I'd just be grateful that me and my horse were okay if I was him. I would never ever get mad at a horse if I fell off of it, it's just pathetic and if you're going to do it then you shouldn't be owning a horse. I hope that horse was alright.

0:9 the horse really hurt himself... you can see his leg like bent and he's limping 0_0

i know :/ it was totally the riders fault. as they went over the jump the rider was leaning way far back and pulled on the rains really hard :/

1:08 whenever this rider has been included everyone has come to the conclusion she should never have been allowed near a horse.

If the girl on the first horse could've stuck the landing after he reared then that would've been pretty cool. You gotta admit it.

The rule or motto for riding is it's never the horses fault, always the rider.

That little bag thinners a few rides in a western saddle. I bet he'd find it a whole lot harder to toss someone like that. I sit much more soundly in western tack than english, but I do like using english bridles. I mix it up a bit.

Just to let everyone who is saying these falls aren't that bad know ... when I made this video I was young and to me I thought these were horrible falls. Obviously over the years I discovered that I've had worse falls myself. Nevertheless , a fall is a fall and even if it doesn't look bad .... it could be a lot more severe than what is seen. I don't really make videos non more because unfortunately (if you've watched any of my last uploaded videos) we had to sell my beautiful horse Darcy. But anyway, I am extremely grateful for how well this video has come on and thankyou!!

"Not all people who fall are bad riders!!!" No, definitely not. But people like these who yank the shit out of their horse's mouth to get them to STOP bucking (which is the stupidest response to a bucking horse) are.
@amyc54378 жыл бұрын
I hate these videos when I see the horses and riders getting hurt and the comments that say you should've done this, you should've done that to stay on and correcting the riders as the horses are bucking. AS IF THEY HAVE MUCH CONTROL

I feel so bad for the horses... those people riding them do NOT know what they are doing or how to take care of and protect their horses.

This is my opinion, at 0.42 you should not yank the reins that just makes the horse want to throw you of his or her back more!!

The equastrian sport doesn't have bad falls every one tries their best I have fallen off only 3 times and I have been riding for 3 years so it doesn't matter how bad you've fallen even if you have never fallen you are just as a good rider as everyone else

wtf why are people saying these jumps are too high...have you never heard of professional showjumping? They have to jump that high, they train their whole lives, the horses are bred to jump like that...are you all weird western riders who just never jump? It's like saying barrel racers go too fast for such sharp turns. Idiots.

I've been thinking that looking at these comments. I rode English and I hunt in the UK, so I dressage, showjump, a bit of eventing, I do endurance... I'm also the proud owner of a western saddle, I do a two week western camp every summer and I compete in a local barrel racing league. To be honest, both sports are equally stupid and I'm not sure why I'm not dead yet...😂😉
