Remy’s Blue Nocturne is pretty much like SF4 Cammy’s CQC, another impact-based super. So I just want to point out that the reaction time on attack impacts, works best on Remy’s Blue Nocturne. All in all, this super has in it, a lot of mind games, reaction time and old school strategies for Remy.

It's a tough job, but someone has to do it. Otherwise the games devolves into rote flowcharting and mindless counterpicking. The beauty of 3rd strike is that the universal mechanic, the parry, when mastered, theoretically renders nearly all other aspects of the game obsolete. It's also an extremely risky option to human players- and is susceptible primarily to command throws... but that doesn't matter much in real life because most players can't handle the cognitive load to play like that. The end result is a game where "the skill ceiling" is off in outer space somewhere and basically unreachable except by TAS combo videos.

@@danielnam9026 yeah, that SA3 actually damages the character when the character’s super art is performed half a second before this SA3 starts. So it doesn’t matter if its first action is a parry. Once that thing becomes a parry, a flurry of attacks follow. In short, parrying doesn’t give you damage from the super arts, but Blue Nocturne damages most super arts and negates them. Parrying is basically like guarding from the attack but the damage is negated because of it. Even Houyoku Sen, the deadliest super art (that people think; I see why it’s a super art but still love seeing Blue Nocturne defeat it), isn’t safe from Blue Nocturne. I still have recordings of this very theory which still proves my point. So the SA3 is a deadly weapon against most Super Arts.

That SA is a counter. It activates on strike attacks, it’s optimal on the ground only. It’s better to parry with Remy and getting optimal punish with SA1 or SA2. SA3 is the worst SA for him.

I’ve actually tested Remy’s SA3 with Chun-Li’s SA2, I even gave Chun-Li’s SA2 go first only to realize that in 0.5 seconds and truthfully speaking, that Blue Nocturne broke off Houyoku Sen and Chun-Li was damaged. If you’ve nothing to back up except prove me right; then you’re failing in your refutations. Just do your research. That thing is basically like Alpha Counter but as a Super Art. I don’t need to say anything when I know you have no clue what I meant. Really; just experiment it and see.

Normally I wouldn't respond the "hate mail" I am a firm believe of nodding and saying "yes this grass is blue" but I am genuinely curious on how you take this gameplay as turtling, also I think you mean to say "turtling" in an ostracizing way. There is nothing wrong with playing defensive at all. It's up to the other person to know how to combat that playstyle. And if blue nocturne is "standard" for remy then hell yeah lets go boys. Anyhow, I don't think I am turtling at all. But let's look at this remy gameplay. First interaction I jump in. Second, I go for throw. I block, short short. I block low forward. I block short short and hit a button aggressively to stop a dash. Then I go for an unnecessary red parry. Footsies happen, he jumps in and I trip guard. I move forward for a c.mp on his wakeup to do a bn parry bait. I think that is hella aggro and not turtling at all. The second round I am jumping in, going for throws, going for oki. Not trying to argue, just genuinely curious on how you perceive this as turtling. I am curious if you know what that term means. Anyhow, hope you are well and hope to see you on fc.

The negative far outweighs the positive. It’s been established that Remy’s SA3 is hilariously bad. It’s the worst SA in the game. You want a comparable skill? Dudley’s Cross Counter is better and requires no meter. EX Cross Counter requires meter and does more damage than Remy’s SA3.

Sure, you’ve been repeating this same thing again, from downplaying Remy to downplaying Remy’s SA3. You didn’t even say the in-depth version of the positives and negatives. And EX moves are unfavorable in Remy’s SA3? What are you, a child who thinks EX moves came before SFEX? Remy’s QCB + K is actually a good weapon to use and none of this needs to be EX when clearly you can build meter three times in average. Just go old school and you can decently be a pro. Besides, reaction time isn’t that hard for experienced players. I tested it out today in the 3rd Strike Arcade by playing it against A.I, even Dudley couldn’t win against me. So all of those stuff you said about Dudley being better than Remy with the Cross Counter, that’s false. Remy’s Blue Nocturne deals more damage than Dudley’s Cross Counter and EX Cross Counter. The ones who can use projectiles in 3rd Strike are namely: Oro, Ibuki, Chun-Li, Ryu, Sean (only in his Super Art), Ken, Gouki, Remy, Gill, Urien I think I know Makoto can stop Remy but so far it seems like maybe her Hayate would be the case (possibly a special attack). But otherwise, bottom line is MOST Super Arts can never break this one. Because they’re impact-based. The opponent doesn’t need to be grounded if for some reason, even that airborne attack activates the SA3. Against air attacks, it’s effective. Seen it when playing as Remy. Sure optimal damage doesn’t need to work but as I said: you can build meter for three times in a round. And yet, my first time playing as Remy and I managed to beat Dudley, Chun-Li and Hugo with certainly no problem at all in Arcade mode. I’m literally winning this, thank you very much. You literally lied to me in the face by comparing the Cross Counter with the Blue Nocturne, it’s hilarious you’re being stupid. I experimented Dudley’s EX Cross Counter and Remy’s Blue Nocturne that Remy’s SA3 does slightly more damage than the former. So you’re lying here. So actually, here are the real positives and negatives: Positives: 1) Can activate against airborne attacks, and are effective. 2) Decent damage on activation. 3) Short meter build up, where the super can be used 3 times in a row per round. 4) Impact-based SAs cannot break through this; thereby used as an impact-based SA negation.
