@@drzerogi : Yeah, it was massively used. Text speak originated in the mid to late nineties because we could only have so many characters in a text message. The use of LMAO in it's "Ayyy Lmao" memey social media sense was exactly that - A meme. Used completely ironically, memeing on people that used text speak IRL. A thing you may not know, is that even though we didn't have social media as it is now, we still had IRC, E-mail and text messaging. You got us 30-40 somethings to thank for your modern language Xx You should probably check this out: en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Appendix:Glossary_of_textspeak

@2:29 - the character behind Oro is basically the old/elder, goofy, "hermit-type". There are a lot of similar fictional characters in Japan, and even Chinese that is similar to Oro. Canonically, he is so strong that he beats his opponents effortlessly. To explain the "praising" and "weak" comments he makes during the fights, imagine like a super confident/strong fighter basically sparring with his opponent. Oro technically never loses, bored of life, probably won't die anytime soon... and treats fighting as either fun.. or a chore.

But all that got thrown out the window on Street Fighter V where we see on the story mode where we see Sean hanging out on brazil, till his teenage days before moving to NYC. So an explanation would be that their parents heard the name Sean and liked it to give it to their second son, or maybe he was raised in NYC but they visit brazil that particular time, which seems unlikely.

Quick corrections: Akuma at 3:32 should be saying "恥と知れい” Which would be "Know you shame." And 笑止 is "Shoushi" not "Joushi" (translation is correct) Ibuki at 6:33 is "Kenzan" not Senzan. However the translation is correct (though you could also translate it to "Ibuki has arrived.") Actually Yun says "I already won this fight." at 5:29. As J H has pointed out, and the Kanji was wrong. Just a heads up for everyone, change the playback speed to 0.75x. Trust me, it makes the audio slightly shite but the text remains onscreen long enough to actually read the translation(s) without having to pause the video in attempt(s) to correlate the narration with the dia/monologue. 0.75x speed is the best option to select which doesn't completely render the audio, onscreen text(s) and translation(s,) and video unbearably annoying. Cheers to everyone but also big thanks to this channel's staff for addressing the errors in regards to updating (further below into the comment's section of this video) and correcting the information originally detailed in the video. Awesome to see this topic covered and to have content creators who care enough about their content and the fans to go through that process and hassle to ensure the best possible experience for everyone.

Bro, thanks for the vid but you missed the coolest line in the game! If you launch Makoto's SA3 with pressing 2 punch buttons simultaneously, she'll shout something with so much rage it gives me chills every time.

You missed one of Makoto's opening lines. I don't know exactly what she's saying, but it's something like "Shoubaja".
@d3v1lsummoner

Probably "勝負じゃ" "shoubu ja" where 'shoubu' means a match or contest and, when translated literally as something like "It's a match", sounds stupid. Just think of it as a declaration to fight.

I'm sure someone's already said this, but when you translated "Shinryuken" at 1:23, you showed Ken doing the Shouryureppa, instead. ^_^ Still, love the video! I wish more of these localized games had subtitle options for home releases...

Makoto's special (seichusen) is an application of a very basic karate concept of hitting the centerline for maximum damage. The first hit being a hard gedan (low), then gradually coming over chudan (mid) level and finally hitting hard the head. All of this done in kiba dachi, a base for stability and sometimes power.

7:52 i dont speak japanese, but in karate the punches are called “tsuki”, so makoto in her super is probably talking about the number of punches she did, in sf3 you cant see clearly the number of punches she does, but in sf4 the same super (ultra 1) does 5 punches, and “go” means 5.

I actually came across this because I was looking for one of Necro's quotes. When he does his Back Roundhouse, he yells something like "Rista!" Maybe it's just due to his garbled voice, but I don't understand what it means. The voice clip gets interrupted if you do any follow-up attacks.
