I’m told the synthetic black fencer makes hits less hard, but I think our idea of “heavy” kit should be better for things other than longsword

Great presentation, makes it easy to see how the techniques are utilized. How would it have been used on a battlefield though? I presume as more of a spear.

Wow, wunderschöne Vorführung einer meiner liebsten Schwerter! Ich habe gelesen, dass das Montante etwas leichter und schlanker ist und wundere mich grade, ob das auch mit dem schwereren Gassenhauer möglich ist. Allgemein, abgesehen von HEMA Clubs, gibt es irgendwo Bücher, um diese Regeln zu lernen?

Kenne nun keine spezifischen Bücher, aber die beiden Quellen die man am häufigsten für das Montante-Fechten heranzieht wären "Figueiredo" und "Godinho". Vielleicht hilft das ja. :) Und ja, das Montante ist für seine Größe eher leicht und schlank beschaffen - dem Spadone sehr ähnlich und deutlich leichter als der deutsche Bidenhänder.
