It's what I thought. He is still good. Maybe better once we get used to the simplified style. 6k gatling feel better to me that he still has hammerfall super cancel. Blue RC I already new that was a good change. At least for the way I want to play pot

so true my friend, hammerfall Kara super seems really fun and it makes sense in his kit now, because I think they want you HFBing more. very excited, and BRC is funny so I'm always glad

Here's my thoughts after playing the new patch for a few hours when I've had a year of experience with him: the ceiling is lower, but his floor is SO MUCH HIGHER. I personally prefer the kara combos, as that's partly why I picked him up. His combos were kinda funky, wacky, and actually difficult to pull off. I wanna see where this patch goes competitively and I wanna see more of him, but losing his silly kara combos killed some of the fun of playing pot for me.

If you want a reference, I will refer you guys back to AC+ and +R. Pot basically is transitioning back to his old playstyle. He got his Hammerfall Break quick recovery back. From X to +R, that how Pot approach. Usually a double HFB to reach full screen due to low recovery between each break. The Armor and range from he Bustour is from AC+ and +R. Though the armor is for his Air Bustour. 2S>HFB is now almost 0 on block so now you can do tick throw setup with Pot. Most of his combos require HFB now so good luck. If Strive Pot got his Vacuum 2S or Air Bustour or his 18f Overhead back or HK left you RIGHT NEXT TO POT, that would be over. Also, his flick now is busted. This move along flip over A LOT OF MATCHUP. Faust is no longer comfortable throwing items around since he could FLICK ALL OF THEM including the Hammer. Asuka's 90% of his arsenal got flick including his 2D and DP. Flick is OUTRAGEOUS NOW.

that's about right, strive pot was radically different than +R or Xrd pot since you relied on kara cancelling moreso than HFB pressure. He's a bit more in line with the other 2 now, but I think he is just different enough to still be pretty sick (I don't like pot in +R or Xrd, so I play different characters in them. I play pot in strive BECAUSE he's not the same as the other entries). solid writeup, if they ever let 2S vacuum again, there will be heart attacks across the nation.

@@moreflufflesscorn The joy of +R Pot is how to land Air Pot Bustour and FRC. Air Bustour is not special cancelable from normal so literally TKing it from the ground or jump cancel in the air by doing the 360 motion. FRC and HF took a bit of a learning curve as well but EXTREMELY satisfied to land. I think the Flick change already made everyone hate you. HC and Asuka got their matchup flip so hard especially Asuka is now 8-2 in pot favor.

Tbh i would love for him to get an Command Overhead again, like an 6S that is him hitting down the ground with both arms like an Hammer (referencing his Instakill from GGML) and it is 0 on-block, meanwhile it is like Frame 24 or smth, it would be Super funny.

He's basically more alike to Xrd or +R Potemkin now, his Buff to HFB makes him revolve around that more now, meanwhile his Kara's removed that unique identity he has from Strive now.

c.S > 2HS > HFb > 2K > 6P > Rocket gives great midscreen oki and looks so cool. I think kara PB was a reasonable price to pay for this much sauce. Character is bad anyways. Might as well have fun.

I prefer to do c.S > 2H > HFb > 2K > 6K > Rocket, because it goes further and I find it personally easier but it's basically the same. I've been playing a lot since this vid and I am telling you rn that I do not mind losing months of practice for the raw sauce I now have access to. What a cool little guy!
