All this time I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to barre the whole six strings!

Awesome! I can now do barre chords and I can stretch my fingers to play hard chords.

Great video. Your calm way of explaining this really took the dread out of this chord. I was able to play both the major and minor chords on the 5th fret on the first try by using your suggestions.

With guitar, finger- and hand-size and strength are limiting. Yet, a smaller-body instrument, with a slim neck profile, narrow nut-width (1-11/16" max), and nicely curved fretboard radius makes a huge difference.

Best beginner bar chord video I've seen by far This is my first response to anyone you deserve great reviews . Don't worry if your face shows or not remember eyes are on the guitar and what your showing us. Not trying to be critical just could tell you where trying to make everything perfect. your lessons on how to place fingers, elbow etc. was so so so helpful

Before I watched this I just didn't use barre chords in my music. I admit I was afraid to. Now I have the confidence to use them whenever I need to. Thanks Janet. You rule!

very helpful, I like how you explain things so calmly and clearly. And unlike many other guitar tutorials you don’t try to show off which in my experience is just very demoralising! . Thank you.

Excellent advice. Let me tell you my daughter plays violin but she wants to learn guitar and I will share your videos with her, I'm pretty sure that with my humble help and your knowledge she will learn fast. Thanks so much.

Good tips. Also, ask if you really need/want all those 6 strings, generally involving a lot of unnecessary duplication of notes. In most cases 3 or 4 selected strings will do.
