Bro!! I can't actually find the right words to express my drummer envy. There's drummers and then there's this guy.
@kamerongonzales90567 жыл бұрын
The fact that he went balls to wall in this cover reminds me why I started drumming in the first place, to get a hold of myself and align myself when I was falling apart. The raw emotion drumming can bring out in someone when they're passionate about a song. This cover touches me in a deep, emotional level. Keep being great, man. Going to go practice now! ❤

I don't understand why most people are saying he doesn't have any talent just because of the way he is acting while playing the drums. I believe everyone has a different way of playing. Some just like to play drums without any exaggerated movements, others do. He definitely knows how to play more than those at home typing away negative comments.

For anyone who's saying he has no dynamics, he broke down with the song and played a bossa nova groove mid-song. It's a dubstep remix folks. He's playin with the energy of the song. Yes he is beating the hell out of those drums. It's because that's the vibe of the song. He's got chops, flare, and rudimentary skills. Why is that something to hate on? Would it have been better if he was some deadbeat playing with no expression? Come on folks, it's a new day of entertainment. Stop hating, especially if you can't play the drums. :).

I hear ya. I play too. That was also a bit overboard for a cover. That being said, have you seen his street work? That's some good stuff. Hollywood took care of him quick!

I can agree with you. The bossa nova groove was a nice touch. My plight is when drummers sacrifice technique for performance.

For the people thinking he's playing the drums too hard, or jumping around too much I feel like there is a difference between just playing something and performing something. Personally, even if it's a bit over the top, I feel he conveys the intensity of the song pretty well.
@bradhoffman22249 жыл бұрын
Dylan Taylor, you are the very definition of grimy. That was disgusting and beautiful at the same time. The amount of energy and emotion that you bring to that drum set turns a simple song/drum cover into something not even of this world. Stay humble, don't forget your roots and keep at it bro. Fuckin' awesome :)

Lot of people criticizing him for jumping around and being a performer. Hard to break it to you all, but an awful lot of drumming is about what your body is doing, not necessarily what you're playing. I'm a drummer as well, and though I don't act as much as this guy, there are definitely things I do to convey a certain mood or intensity given the song I'm playing. It makes it more fun and involving! As for the technicality here: there's not a lot. It's not intended to be technical. Most of this is not hard to do, it's all fairly straightforward "KZbin" drumming. Flashy, intended to entertain. I'd bet any amount of money that he would agree if asked. This is a great example of a KZbin drum cover, and I doubt he wanted to be a technical showoff.

I think you're really selling him short here with your 'KZbin drumming' comment. It's perhaps not hard to do but it's not easy either. I bet most people that have been drumming for a while couldn't do it as good as he did. And what does 'KZbin drumming' even mean? There's loads of good drummers/musicians on KZbin. It's all relative really, some people would find this easy to do, most probably wouldn't.
@brrguitarist6 жыл бұрын
Late reply but I want to add as a drummer that you get to a point where you can play things without much thought and you add flair to your style to make it entertaining for spectators as well as yourself. Idk about you but I have the most fun when I can act like a moron while nailing the beat.
@cherebear39336 жыл бұрын
Exactly. This is the exact reason I am finding it hard to find decent woman drummers I like. Most just sit there trying to look "hot" while drumming. its unpassionate and extremely irritating. The body language and facial expressions for me are apart of drumming itself. I love listening to drums but love it more when I am able to listen and watch the drummer himself. Only found a few woman who truly go at it like men usually do.. you enjoy it more when you can see that they are passionate and get into the drumming rather then them male or female just sitting there trying not to make UG faces. it says a lot and adds substance to drums.

Yo, what's with all these bad vibes? Didn't ya see the beginning skit of the video? His lack of dynamics is made in correspondence to the theme of the video: anger, and resent. I have yet to see any other things he's done, but it seems as he was only hitting this hard and going 110% the whole time because he was upset about a relationship coming to an end. I know, I sure as hell hit my drums this hard when I'm angry. There is a very high probability that it was just an act; in which case, he is acting upset. Doing it quite well, if I do say so myself. Regardless, fantastic drummer.
