I'm sure Banjo Kazooie is in the cards for a review eventually. But there are plenty other even bigger series that Johnny still hasn't even touched like Donkey Kong, Mario spinoffs, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and Resident Evil. I'd expect him to at least cover the DKC games before Banjo.

I remember this game! Your boat gets ruined in a storm, then you have to recover the 8 Instruments of the Sirens to wake the Wind Fish! Okay but seriously, no checkpoints is a big no for me. I don't like games that waste my time by making me replay stuff. It's possible to make a game challenging and still have checkpoints (even everyone's favorite "git gud" franchise Dark Souls has checkpoints). Taking away checkpoints is just a cheap move that cranks up difficulty in entirely the wrong way.

The fact that the stages are procedurally generated seriously tanks my motivation to buy. It looked like another super-tight 2D platformer that could've had the great level design of something like Celeste. I was looking at this game thinking it might scratch that itch for me (the itch being the need for tight, well-designed 2D platformers) since I haven't had one that did so since, well, Celeste. Hearing the levels aren't painted by hand, though, that tanks my motivation fr it. I'm grateful for this video as it highlighted reasons I would buy the game, but also highlighted why I was going into the game with false expectations.

You should check out OwlBoy, it's another bird themed pixel platformer but you are the bird (birdhuman thing) but the pixel art is amazing and it has a great soundtrack. Not to knock Eagle Island it's a fun game I just prefer Owlboy.

Even your cat is not interested. 0:43 also she seems really skittish. I might recommend you feed her from your hand for a while just to reestablish bonds. Its how I tamed a feral kitten I found in my step-grandfathers field. She's now a lap cat that cant stand to be away from me for very long. Example sometimes I get ready for work and she jumps in my lap I put her on the ground and she immediately does it again. Purring the whole time.
