I’m a senior now and this is what the mall looked like when I was a freshman. Dillard’s and Sears are now gone. Dairy Queen, the whole section by Sears including the old Spencer’s location, as well as the section by Dillard’s and by the Chick Fil A are gone too. So much has changed and it’s crazy how much the mall has changed in such a short amount of time. I got emotional just thinking about it and I didn’t even get to experience how great it was before I was born

Grew up at this mall, my aunt and uncle both worked in the beautiful Strouss store (then a Kaufmann’s now a Macy’s). With the Dillard’s and Sears store now gone this mall is in trouble. Lots of offshoot store names I’ve never heard of, vacant store fronts here and there, basically empty. Gone are the fountains as well of which there were several. Nice to see the old footage. This place used to be so packed you could barely walk down the concourse without running into someone. My uncle took me to see Three Amigos at the Southern Park Cinema (now Sawa Japanese), that place left long before the decline. Where are people shopping these days? You can’t tell me Amazon... as much as I like online shopping, there is nothing like shopping for clothes in person. Interesting to see the Zales and Regis outside of Dillard’s is still there. I think those are their original locations going back to the 80’s.

Cool vid! Really shoows the dynamic of the parts both living and dead. Even some creepy back rooms! Loved the emphasis on the slow elevator. Very Clockwork Orange Julius! 🎆😎🎇🤩✨🤠🎉

Haven't been there in years, but I must've spent days in this mall, and the Eastwood Mall, growing up in the 80s and 90s. Good times!

The malls in the Valley aren't doing too bad, considering both online shopping and that the Youngstown metropolitan area as a whole has lost almost 100,000 people since 1990.

So cool. I think this is where I bought Slime World for the Atari Lynx, when my aunt and uncle took me along. I was only at this mall once, if this is the one. None of the malls where I'm from were carpeted and we all thought that was pretty interesting at the time. The mall appears to have been a little remodeled since then, or at least painted (my visit was in 1991). Thanks for sharing your walk-through!

6:22 Yep! That's definitely the place! I remember a bunch of older, teenage girls with _massive,_ voluminous, perms congregating right here in this area. hahahaha

Man I remember when there were water fountains and stuff in the hallways here with the pennies in them and everything way back in the day. The Oakley stand in the hall before there was an actual Oakley store.

@@SomeClassicGameMusic It's just sad that Sears is almost dead now. I hope they make a comeback someday even if it is in a smaller form like what Toys R US is doing.
