'Someday' Animatic (The Hunchback of Notre Dame Musical)

'The Hunchback of Notre Dame' (1996) is one of my favorite films by Walt Disney Animation Studios. After watching the stage musicals, I've fallen in love with the music and story all the more! Having obtained the 'Art of' book for the film, I was inspired to take some of my own time and effort to set the songs from the musical to the characters from the animated film.
This video is not sponsored. This video was for non-profit purposes, as I do not own the rights to the musical or the character designs. This was all a fan project made out of love for the animated film and the musical.

I can’t stop rewatching this. I always preferred the film version to the stage version of “Someday”, but this animation brings them up to about equal for me. Love it!!

Hunchback is my favorite animated Disney movie and Hunchback the stage musical is imho the greatest musical of all time. The music is so powerful and emotional. This was absolutely beautiful. Your hunchback videos have all been masterpieces, but this just took it to the next level for me. This was the first video in my life that made me cry. Your work has been masterful. Hunchback of Notre Dame is my favorite animated film of all time and I would love Disney to reanimate the movie to include all these segments you animated. I wish someday this would happen. I’m very excited for the remake and I really hope they don’t screw it up cause I shame them till the day I die. I hope Disney recognizes you and your masterful work cause you honestly deserve it. Can’t wait for all your other works you’ve got planned. My friend, you are a great person. I love putting out videos to showcase my skills, and basically just to bring to life whatever ambitious idea comes into my head that I feel can be brought into fruition. And I just continue to do so, while waiting to see what sort of recognition they can get and see where my talents will eventually take me. As for the songs and animatics, my passion for them derided from a desire to see a live-action Hunchback and get out the visions I had in my head (long before the remake was officially announced). And I do admit that I did cry as I was listening to the song and drawing Esmerelda and Phoebus here. I wanted to be sure that whatever emotion I put into it was just as reflected in the output. Of course, there is an expanded version of this song that was written for the first stage adaptation of the movie that ran in Berlin from 1999 to 2002, "Der Glöckner von Notre Dame", which serves as the official 11 o'clock number as Emerelda is being marched to the square. It is beautiful, anthemic, and includes all the lyrics from the pop version at the movie's end credits, and I defintiely recommend giving it a listen (it is in German, but there are English lyrics to it in this video's comments, and that shouldn't take away your enjoyment of it): kzbin.info/www/bejne/roXHkGCbac6dpZo I don't know what the future officially holds in store for the Hunchback of Notre Dame, be it the remake or a potential future signature edition where they might expand it with newly-added animated sequences (like how "Lion King" and "Beauty and the Beast" did). this is so sad pheobus and esmeralda have found love with each other and frollo is taking that away not only that you can see fear and sadness on esmeralda face she trying to have brave face but she can't but okay sometimes you just have to let it all out even pheobus doing it too, and how both of them wish for the same thing and comforting each other in this scene know they will soon be tore apart

also worth noting that in the scene immediately before this (in the musical), Frollo attempts to rape Esmeralda. It's a very good detail in this that she obviously had been roughed up a bit

Where did you get the art book by the way?

Surprisingly, I just passed it by chance in a local bookstore in my hometown, where it was on display at random. It was almost like an act of fate. The book is by Stephen Rebello. If you want to buy the book for yourself, you can try typing his name and I'm sure that you can get a source or two online as to where to buy his books.
