So grateful! Had to do over today after making a mess of my hair yesterday. Best pointers that you made which made the difference ...in my opinion. 1. This is a slightly darker toner than the T18 which allows you to tone yellow vs light yellow bleached hair! 2. This isn't heavily purple like T18. The residual in the applicator says so much about the difference. 3. Lightly wash and condition after bleaching and before toning. 4. Use the hair protector before toning so you end up with a more even toning. 5. Leave toner on for less time than you think. You said 5 mins.....I did more like 15 mins. Thank you so much for helping me find a perfect resolution to my hair mess after I was completely depressed before.

I wasn't sure if I commented before, but i wanted to make sure i did. I also having been using t18 since I remember... and while going lighter, i have been finding the purple color popping up. I took your advice and got the t28 and I could not be happier. The only time i use t18 now is if I mix it just a bit with the t28. So - just wanted to say thank you and that your video helped me =)

I've been holding on to a bottle of t28 for a few months. You just inspired me to go ahead and put it on my head! It looks gorgeous and I think it's a nice change from overly ashy t18 or t10 that sometimes looks a little dingy. I also got the ion bond therapy. Great stuff and easier on the wallet than olaplex. You got me on that too. Love the videos look forward to the next one.😉👍🏻

Hi there. Please do toner tutorials with the remaining Wella toners. You are right. Finding videos related to these are so hard. So far I can see from your vids the looks and results for T11, T10, and T 28. Would love to see how the other toners turn out. I'm not a big fan of ashy tones, was looking for a more sandy natural look. I currently have light banana color after bleach but not sure with Wella toner will give the a sandy color rather than ash. Thanks.

Just used this toner today. This video helped me emensly. I almost didn't have enough due to the length of my hair, so adding a little water was a great tip. And the method you used. I also did not want to shampoo after.. It totally toned my yellow and even some brassy tones that were in my hair. My hair had highlights and this toner definitely evened it all out. Followed the instructions to the tee. Thanks again...five years later lol.

I just used Wella T18 and my hair is completely granny grey. I knew it would turn out like that because I had used an ash blonde dye beforehand and it died my hair dark gray. I look like an old lady. I wish they would actually give proper instructions on how people should use a toner. I left it on for 20 not even 30 minutes like it says on the box, and it did this to me. My hair is very light so I think this is why, I only had a little bit of brass after bleaching my hair. I am honestly too scared to touch a toner again. It makes me so mad because I asked multiple people if I should bleach my hair again or use a toner, they all said "use a toner, it will get rid of the brass, and even out your color." You can literally see where I had brass (middle of hair around the head), it looks more blonde, while the rest is completely grey.

New to your channel and VERY new to toning! I just toned my natural hair for the first time tonight! And while I love the results, no more yellow (yey!) it kind of darkened my hair to a greyish tone...not a fan. How do I lighten it now?! Another toner? (I used Blond Brilliance Anti-yellow Creme Toner Kit)
@somegirljesskent8 жыл бұрын
hi! i've never toned natural hair,....only ever bleached hair, so i can't say for sure. with bleached hair, toner can be faded with just time/extra washing. some people swear by dish soap or anti-dandruff shampoo to help fade it faster. Unless you want to bleach or bleach bath your hair (which i don't advise just for damage sake/potentially making your hair worse) then it'll just fade over time. by the way - a bleach bath is mixing hair bleach powder with developer like normal, but then adding a bunch of shampoo to dilute it. this brightens hair by 1-2 levels, and you might only need to leave it on for a few minutes. but you'd likely have to re-tone afterwards. also, I'm not familiar with the kit you used - it looks like it's just kind of one colour suits all? i would suggest going for something else next time :). good luck!

Hey, I love your videos! I'm always excited when you bring out new videos about your hair! Does the porosity equalizer bought at Sally's really work? @somegirljesskent8 жыл бұрын
beerad21OX in my opinion, yes it does what it's supposed to do. I haven't had issues with really over toning my hair since I've used it...but I haven't tried not using it lately so I'm not sure what would happen if I didn't use it. I guess I'd rather take any precaution I can to be safe rather than sorry! :) of course the alternative is making sure your ends are pretty wet and you can even dilute the wella toners with a little water and leave it on the for less time. I do all of the above

This t28 has a greenish hue to it... I'm using t11 these days. After a huge HUGE mistake with t18 being left on way too long. My hair became an aweful burnt orange brass yellow. Hideous! I'm still in recovery mode. Still unable to really hang onto color after over processing trying to correct t18 with another color problem. I'm beginning to thing the hair never recovers once you've list the protein. Why would it? It's all dead except the follicle! Anyway. .. if anyone wants to know how to managage until your hair grows out.. I used a Henah dark brown. It took 3 hour for my hair to take any color. Even then it didn't really take completely. Since then I've added some highlights to make it seem a bit more natural. Tried maintaining with several different toners but I've found for my almost every two weeks maintenance the t11 to be my favorite. It lasts for about a week to week and a half. Makes my hair a real pretty buttery honey blonde. I know it's time to do it again when my hair starts looking super dry, straw like with an orange/brassy yellow color and texture starts showing. I always start by washing and conditioning my hair. Towel dry it. Then mix my one part t11 is used with just two part 10 developer (1:2 ratio) then I apply and leave for the full 20 minutes. If this helps..anyone... I also will pull my hair through a cap and highlight with a blue based lightened. Not the purple. I used to use the purple when my hair was normal. Things have changes so much with it and my hair has a ton of red in its core I guess.. the blue just looks so much better. I follow that with A t11 with 10 developer immediately following to maintain a pretty buttery honey blonde...

MsTaraVlogs good luck!! Some tips to avoid overtoning: make sure to use conditioner before you tone so you seal the cuticle and it isn't so open to accept colour. And also, make your hair more damp than maybe the average person..the wetter the hair, the less intense the toner is.

I want to fo this! If I just want to tone (not dye- not bleach, not do roots) does my hair have to be wet when toning? And I can apply it to all my hair but not roots right?
@sourbuttasty44246 жыл бұрын
If you apply on wet or dry hair is depending on the intensity you want. If your hair is towel dry/wet you are diluting the toner and that makes the color intensity a bit less and it is easier to apply evenly. If you apply on dry hair the toner gets stronger, but you can risk getting an uneven result. When I tone I always apply on wet/towel dry hair and let it sit for longer instead of applying on dry hair. If your hair is a boít porous it can get uneven very easily when applying on dry hair. It is also more damaging if you apply on dry hair. Although I know some people apply on dry hair. If you use a 20 developer or higher, it will lift your natural hair a tad and it can get brassy so avoid your roots if you don´t want a warmer shade on them. If you use a 10 developer or lower you could let it sit on your roots because it will not lift and make the hair lighter only deposit the color, so if you have highlights go with low volume developer or toner that doesn´t need a developer. Toners that does not require developer will fade really quickly though so you need to tone more often.
