In the USA few can get stars to relax and be playful. It seems to much like work. Remember the greatest Fresh Prince reunion and concert! Awesome memory look for it! BTW I met Robin Williams on several occasions professionally. He was very uncomfortable in stillness. 1:1 he could be shy and felt awkward so he got "on." When he was getting laughs or drawing attention off him (if he did not want to discuss something or if he felt no connection or approval he got manic.) He was a genius and a warm human being. The 2 don't often go together hence the "demons" he battled all his life. May he be resting in peace feeling our love.

I disagree. What people understood about Robin was it "was all in good fun", so if he missed the mark you weren't offended. They knew he was just trying to entertain, and now comedy seems to build their own silos looking for a specific niche or demographic, and for him "funny was funny..." it wasn't more complicated than that.

The loss of Robin Williams was one of the saddest moments in history. Listening to him make jokes about George W was great. Could you imagine the material he would have gotten from the great orange one?

He made his roles unique. He brought me such joy in my younger years! That's something you never forget. He'll always have a warm place in my heart.

I kind of met Robin Williams once. He was at the Exploratorium in San Francisco, I was very young. I loved Disney movies. I knew who Robin was and was a big fan even as a child. My mom pointed him out to me, and I ran to him and asked for an autograph. He didn't stop talking to his children, explaining something science-y at the museum to them. He didn't seem too enthused I was asking, so I didn't linger. It hadn't even occurred to me to not ask at all, because he was most likely trying to enjoy family-time. I ran back to my mom and handed her the autograph. Then, went to play around in the museum some more. I will always remember that experience, though. I have no idea where the autograph is now. Probably in our picture albums somewhere from that time. It was probably the early 90's.

At the time, I was into getting autographs. Like, usually from Mickey or Minnie when we went to Disneyland. I don't know why I thought it was so cool, though. To have someone's signature. Like, I was a kid that valued those little pieces of paper that proved my experiences, and helped me remember them. I collected stickers too, and was really a very solitary child. I have mental health issues now, and had them my whole life - but went undiagnosed. Now, I see Robin as a kindred spirit.

I liked it when Robin cracks himself up. That is so genuine. Robin is my fav entertainer of all time. Imagine what grandeur he might have accomplished if he was still performing. I miss him, but understand his pain. I forgot he spoke so many languages.

There are some who leave a right light glowing long after they’ve gone, Robin Williams was such a gifted person. We can only hope that he has found the peace that he so richly deserved. 😥
