My heart goes out for veterinarians and people who rescue dogs. I can't imagine what they have to deal with and how emotionally taxing it can be. Everytime I see my vet, I let him know that I appreciate him. Even when the news isn't good.

Aww thanks Cathy. I feel like strays gravitate toward us LOL. In the summer I'd say at least once every 2-3 weeks we find a stray and return it home. I just hope this min pin is ok... My wife said she needs a very expensive surgery or it will live in pain and die young. :(

Yeah the breathing was what got me :( She has some kind of hernea issue that needs surgery (i forget the details). The surgery is expensive and I doubt their owners will be able to afford it.

Yep. We did actually call but I'm not sure if anythings been done (probably not). There's a woman here who's had like 14? Animal cruelty complaints on her and nothing has been done. Thank you! I've strayed away from making videos about shelter dogs and such so far because I've just wanted to focus on Porter and Polly but I think in the future when there's a good story I'll tell it. :)

@@ChihuahuaPorter great because then it'll get the word out so people know you know you can want a pet but if you not going to treat it right. the thing is you're like me I treat my dog like a part of my family she don't sleep on the floor she don't sleep outside all that kind of stuff she sleeps in the house with us she eats with us she does things with us you know we make sure she get her vet visits and all that kind of stuff and I mean it's even places that will help you with that care for free if you go and ask you know you can make a $10 $20 payment a month but it don't make sense for that dog to be like that and if nobody says anything in may die.😢

I spent two years doing street rescues and rescuing at risk dogs from craigslist. I saw things so unspeakable I still don't sleep well at night, and if I try to talk about them, I find I really can't, because they sound exaggerated or made up due to the horror and torture that I saw human beings inflict upon helpless dogs. After two years it had taken such toll on my mental and physical health that I could no longer do it. I now have issues when I see a dog in a video or on Facebook or wherever that looks like it's homeless or in distress, and I avoid all videos about dogs unless I'm sure they have a happy ending. This video blindsided me and honestly I'm still very upset by it because I don't know whether that poor dog that was so obviously neglected is ok now, or if he's still being abused, starved and medically neglected. I know this will cause me to not sleep tonight, and I wish Andy had put a warning on it. I came to this channel because I know I can take comfort from the fact that the dogs I see on it are either Andy's dogs, or those that they foster and guarantee will go to good adopters. That being said, I am so sad to say I won't be able to watch Porter and Polly anymore because I can't risk seeing another video like this one where I'll be haunted by the vision of a tortured and so obviously at risk animal, without having the resolution I need in order to be able to move on and know that it's being cared for. When I saw it's torture for me, I'm not exagerating. I love Porter and Polly, and I adore Andy and his wife for what they do, but I just can't take the chance that another video like the one in this one showing that poor baby will be included and set me off. Goodbye, sweet babies, and thank you Andy and Vet Mommy for all that you do. 💙 I totally understand why Andy posted the clip of that poor, tiny baby, so that people can see what one truly soulless human being can do to a helpless dog, but I've got to be able to get those kinds of images out of my head or I'll worry for weeks about the at risk animal. I will miss Porter's floppy ears, cozy sweater collection and his southern drawl, along with Polly's crazy eyes, calm demeanor and bald spot. I appreciate what Andy does and I think very highly of him for it. Thank you, Andy, for your continued work in the fight to save those dogs, even though I'm just not strong enough to continue on with it.

I think it's wonderful to help out like that. I'm pretty good at spotting dog problems and helping their owners. The hardest thing is determining if the owners want to receive the help. Sometimes that can get nasty.

I get so frustrated. I browse the lost and found pets facebook group for my city and people always have a million excuses for why they can't help a dog or cat. But yeah I've had some uncomfortable confrontations with owners. One accused me of trying to steal their cat. Lol.

When Kona came from the Rescue. His nails would have made a Dragon jealous. The looks that I would get ...omg ! I took him to Petco. They barely cut them . He has such a fear of a trim. Finally a Groomer gal came to do it. Now , he can walk properly.

I totally understand what you are saying I was asked to dog sit a pup while the people went to there country for the Holidays they never came back so she's mine now. She is beside me 24/7 .
