For those who might've missed it, this is the full explaination of this story : - The white van you saw at the gas station has been following you from the very begining, you can see it drove past you at the start and most likely they noticed us and followed us to the gas station. We can see it later on too ( i forgot when that was ) - The guy(s) ? In the white van messed with our main character car battery while we were in the store, causing it to flickering and eventually shut down. - The guy in the RED car was also the bad guy. You first saw him when u leave the gas station, he was driving right infront of u. As soon as he saw our car started malfuctioning, he zoomed off knowing that we can't catch up with him. And then afterwards he stopped to set up those 2 logs that were blocking the road ( Most pp won't noticed it but it was the only car that was driving infront of us, after that car drove off suddenly there're 2 big fk logs on the road. If he wasn't the guy setting it up then how the hell did he get through it ? ) - You can see the RED car again at the motel, it parked right infront of room 4, the room that sits right next to the drugged coffe machine. Again confirming that he's involed in all of this - When you led Joe to the coffe machine, you can noticed 2 things : the trunk of the red car's open, probably preparing to stuff us in. And the guy sneak out of our room ( already seen in the video ) - You can spot him creeping outside the window at certain time, one time he's just standing there, the other time is when he took pictures of us ( flashing light from a camera ) and when he knocked the door asking to let him in ( he'll noticed you looking at him shortly after ) -After being drugged he snuck into your closet and stayed there til you leave the room trying to look for the coffe machine - You can't find the White Van at the Motel, only the red car, so I'm pretty sure that there're more than 1 person involed in this. They specifically lured you into that motel ( i don't know why don't they just snap at out mc when she got out of the car to moved the logs ) but my theory is that they're a bunch of creeps/human trafficing groups or drug dealers. - Edit : turns out you can actually spot the white van at the Motel place. All you have to do was follow the guy that snuck out of our room when we were with Joe, he'll led you to a place behind the motel where you can see the white van parked there behind the fence, cool and creepy detail. - There're no super natural things like that guy in the store said, all those people went missing because they were either kidnapped, or killed by those guys i was talking about earlier. - Jason and Joe knew what was going on, they just dont say it out loud. Jason warned you about those "things" which obviously referring to those bad guys, he even knew that they were the reason why her car broke down. - Joe warned you not to wake up other customers, my theory is : That motel were the bad guys lair used for drugs/ human trafficing/.. etc, he's warning us not to caused too much attention. He knew what was going on and was trying to protect us ( Telling us there's medicine we can take and later beat the hell out of that creepy guy ) - But at the same time Joe don't want any troubles so he insisted not calling the cops despite of what happened ( the gangs that was oprerating there will most likely hurt him if he might've done that ). => In conclusion, the area where our mc traveled through is a shitty place with high crimes rate. (Drugs, human trafficing, ... ) the locals there knew about it but they couln't do anything beside telling people who drive through here to be careful, maybe hitchhiking was also a method used by them to bait people. P/s : i've always wonder where the hell did the coffe machine goes after we drank from it, but i'm gonna assumed the white van might have come and pick it up, or it was moved into that guy room. ( it was true that the white van came and pick it up, you can see it parked behind one of the buildings ) - P/s 2 : There're 2 possibilities =One : that creepy guy(s) ? Belongs to a very shady criminal organization that held responsible for various missing cases of people. =Two : He's a serial killers that works alone or with his partner(s) ? Because he cant be driving the white van and the red car and be in 2 places at the same time. I think it's unlikely that this theory is true. + Either way, our mc just walked away from some very fuked up shit that we can't even imagine, all the things we saw here's just the surface.

Maybe he threw the coffee machine in his truck, which could be why its still open as well. @@4bidn1 I’ve always lived in a considered safe suburban area, but my mom was an avid viewer of true crime and I’m a girl. So I was taught to be very cautious; be aware of your surroundings, stay in the light, lock the doors as soon as you’re in the car and don’t sit in the parking lot, etc. When I was 16 I had night classes a few days a week and the other nights I closed at my job. I would walk to my car with my keys between my fingers. After a few uncomfortable experiences with customers or picking up food on my way home, I tried to buy pepper spray only to be told by the employee it was a “lethal weapon” and only 18+ could purchase it. I had to buy it online or get my parents to buy it for me just to feel safe enough to walk to my car by myself. My point of this ramble is that the world is so fucked that even people (specifically young women) who are from relatively safe areas are still terrified to do mundane things and unable to get equipment to literally protect themselves. _We live in a world that acknowledges the dangers toward people and then minimizes their ability to protect themselves_

It would be pretty impractical, as these things go. The reason something like Rohypnol is used in this context at all is that it's a lot less sensitive to overdosing than any non-Benzodiazepine sedative, but it's expensive and would still require a startling amount of micromanagement to avoid accidentally killing anyone. Too low and you might as well have just convinced someone to chug a few beers; too high or in combination with something else and they stop breathing, and the difference between the two is in the single-digit miligrams.

I like that Sean said he liked the first ending he got. This is a way to really shed light on the fact that a lot of the times, victims don’t get away. This is a reality for a lot of people, and to make it seem like you can just “do all the right things” like hide in the closet rather than the bathroom makes it seem like it’s a game. Call the cops the minute this starts. Don’t take your chances or play their games.

I get the fear of having someone in your house, but as a woman this one peaked my anxiety. I feel like I've been closer to situations like these more times than I would think, even the way the other characters talk to the protagonist is so relatable. But definitely, the key to a good horror is to create a sense of safety and "known" to make the player comfortable and then break it ruthlessly.

As a male character it would be just as scary why did you have to mention it
@Feralbagelfan2 жыл бұрын
@@-Dazai- I'm assuming you have good intentions, but women traveling alone are often the victims of violent crime, taken advantage of (or worst case scenario, murdered) because they have no one else with them. Most women know that drugged usually means the perpetrator has an intent of sexual violence. If it were a man, it would probably him being robbed. Since it's a woman, most likely bodily harm. Women are never really safe, especially alone, especially alone at night. I hope you understand this.

@Feralbagelfan2 жыл бұрын
@@-Dazai- literally statistically yes, in terms of sudden violent crime. But that's not the point I'm making here. I'm speaking about how women experience the world in a world that hates women, where femicide is a leading cause of death for women globally . 97% of women have experienced sexual assault or harassment. Women live in constant fear of being alone at night - there are hundreds of cases of women vanishing off street corners, from their apartments and jobs, while hitchhiking and traveling. Every crime show shows sex workers and random women being found horrifically and brutally murdered, rarely men. Men are more often victims of violent crime by sudden attacks mostly with sharp objects, or in brawls/muggings/etc. But 90% of attackers are male, in cases concerning all genders. Your point is thinly veiled misogyny. You missed the entire point of the original comment: female viewers of this video understand the cold dread reality of one of your worst fears coming true: realizing you've been drugged, and knowing what that most likely means. Knowing women experience domestic and sexual violence, sex trafficking, and other violent crimes at a higher rate. I will never understand why men feel the need to take a comment someone makes and turn it into an attack on men.

Regardless of whether this is a real story or not, it's so realistic and horrifying. An organisation in this town has been targeting young women for a long time. It's clear all the other townspeople know about it, and they try to warn the girl in subtle ways, but no one wants to get involved. Like both Tommy and the driver knew immediately her car broke down because it was sabotaged, but they never say it. The scariest thing is probably her getting roofied and NEVER realise she was assaulted during. But the hotel guy knew as soon as she told him about the coffee machine. And literally has medication prepared for this situation. Man this game did so well in not spelling out everything for you and you have to really pay attention to realise what's going on, just like in real life. It feels so helpless that the whole town is in on it and you have no clue.

The medication goes a long way towards supporting the idea that it thankfully didn't happen to a real person. There are very few things you can give to someone on a high dose of a powerful benzodiazepine that will actually be helpful for them, and all of them are other illegal/prescription drugs that wouldn't undo the effects so much as add their own. Even just coming back to this months later, this never fails to get me. Yes, the first one was hella scary, but there's certain things you can do to gain the upper hand; you're in familiar territory after all, and there's ways you can reach out to people you can rely on. Being in an unknown place, somewhere pretty isolated, with a couple people you don't know a thing about? As a female, that's such a bad idea, and there were so many red flags going off as Seán played, that honestly, the thought of something paranormal being a concern at the start was almost nice. Obviously, these things can happen to guys too, but the fact that it seems to be such a universal fear for females...ugh, it sends shivers everywhere. And as a few others have commented, there's a good chance she was assaulted and can't recall it happening (the "goofy noises" Joe mentioned) which just adds to the horror of it. Just makes me sick knowing there's people out there that do shit like that.

Little known fact: Many hotels and motels have a crawl space access in the ceiling of one or more rooms. That crawl space is pretty big and spans the entire length of that particular floor. All the air vents are connected through there as well. A person can easily walk the entire length of the building and easily see and/or access every room. No, you should NOT do this. There's often mold, asbestos or other harmful chemicals in there you do not want to inhale directly. Just saying, be careful staying in such places and never travel alone. If possible.

The first episode was like, adult fear or basic human fear, now we have literally every woman's nightmare: am I in danger from these strange men, will I be safe alone here, is someone going to take advantage of me while I'm traveling alone. There's a reason we do things like walk with our keys in our knuckles and travel in groups, obviously, but the fear is so ingrained as instinct even if you've never been assaulted. It's terrifying how being afraid of the opposite sex in certain everyday circumstances is so normalized for us, and it's nice to see a game try to portray that sickening fear.

I personally like to see endings where the protagonist actually survives, it is less cheesy and you feel the accomplishment of escaping terrifying situations, rather than just playing a game, and knowing you're going to die at the end. Nowadays we have way too many horror games with the same formula, where the protagonist can't escape.. Not only that, jump scares became overrated. I am glad that these games are doing it differently. I felt uncomfortable by simply watching the character going through these unsettling situations, the ambiance is phenomenal, and hey, you're not stuck with an ending you literally have to trigger your own death, because the game wants you to do it. I am terrified of situations like these, it triggers my anxiety and makes me uneasy. Had to go through things like that by myself, during an airplane trip of mine that failed.. This episode of the game reminded me of what my sister's friend had once told us while visiting years ago. A girl she knew of about 20 years old was also once driving alone through a forest at night, and found the road blocked by a small tree. When she got out to remove the tree from the road a car had caught up with her from behind. After getting back in the car and moving on, the car behind her drove very close behind, shining the headlights into the girls car. Scared by this behavior and not knowing what to do, she drove around the town randomly but the car wouldn't go another way. The girl finally called her mom to call the cops, telling her she kept being followed. When she arrived at her home the cops were already there and everyone got out of their cars, even the person who had been following her so closely. The person turned out to be a lady who just so happened to see that a guy in a black hoodie had snuck into the girls car while she was removing the tree, and had hidden himself in the legroom in front of the rear seat. She had been shining her headlights into the girls car in the hope of scaring the man off from doing whatever he was planning. The cops went on to open the girls car, and arrested the man who was in possession of a pocket knife. It was assumed by the police that he was planning to rob her with it, but he could just as easily done worse if there was no one around to spot him.

@@omelgle496 i guess don’t quote me on that, my mom told me to do it 😭 i stayed up all night and chilled at the rest station during the day, and i’ve gone on a lot of road trips so i’m used to the rest station vibe. it wasn’t scary bc mostly ppl at a rest station are truckers or families on their way somewhere, so i wasn’t worried about people parked next to me for a long time. i REALLY don’t trust motels/hotels, bc at least in a rest station you know where everyone is and are in control of your environment/are the only one with keys to you.

obtain this yeast no i totally agree ! i’m horrified of motels, and especially late at night ?? as someone majorly paranoid, im gonna keep this tip in mind for emergencies !

When he didn't properly check the back seat before entering the car I lowkey freaked out, I fully expected that to be a way to die early in the game, that a text would appear when leaving the gas station saying something like "I realized I didn't check my back seat before leaving" and then you'd just see two arms grabbing you from behind or something

This episode was genuinely terrifying, for me personally, because me and this girl not only share a name, but the love of going to game conventions and the number of times I have had the exact same drive home is terrifying... I may start taking planes as well.

Holy Fu--- OMG! Yeah you should start taking planes...

There are other options if planes don't work (from perfect experience) If you're American, a gun with rubber bullets (if you can get them) is both effective and efficient. Rubber bullets are a non lethal godsend. A decent airsoft gun also works, (but just won't be useful as an actual weapon). Talking loud or abrasively, being brash to people around you, basically not being a pushover. There are plenty of very cheap and effective tasers on amazon or just locally. Pre packing things that can be tampered with (coffee, snacks and water). Going in groups especially when driving long distances. Also that nail polish to detect drugs is absolutely amazing. But I'd still highly recommend planes.

If you absolutely have to drive- please dont go alone. And just stick to highways if you can. Flying is a much safer alternative for a multitude of reasons but sometimes thats not an option.

Oh, please do take flights, travel with buddies, or commute during the daytime. I don't wish this experience upon anyone.

I love the fact that Sean instantly started driving on the left side of the road, like irl😂 and the scream of horror when oncoming traffic almost hit him😂

The second game was scarier to me for the exact reasons Sean listed. I'm more likely to get roofied (no matter what precautions I take) than to have someone break into my house while I'm there.
