Capcom Cup X concluded, the big "Final" tournament of Season 1 of Street Fighter 6, and the person who won got a cool million dollars for winning. Pretty cool huh? So in this video lets talk about it, the future of Capcom Cup, Street Fighter 6, and more! Give a watch and let me know what you think!

@akilcharles347310 ай бұрын
I'll say when it comes to the top 8 it was pretty diverse with there being 6 different characters (3 of them being Luke). But even so this was a well hard fought tournament with some amazing players. Gachikun played rather exceptionally well with his Rashid throughout, Chris Wong was 1 I was hoping to win it all but still put up a 1 hell of a perfomance with Luke 💙and Uma just stole the show with his fantastic display with his Juri❤ . Overall an outstanding tournament and I can't wait to see next year if Uma decides to makes a comback again.
@thepuppetmaster928410 ай бұрын
So here's the cool thing about UMA aka Kagami. From GamerBee / UMA friends tweet, they said that UMA is really poor and doesn't have any sponsor, not a youtuber, or a twitch streamer. That's why he doesn't travel much and the guy only brought *$300* that he won from ICFC tourney to travel to CapCup. So imagine if he doesn't win this CapCup. But now he have $1 milllion (i'm jealous lol), not just he can improved his own life, family, and local community but he also have resources to buy fighting games equipments (stick, pad, PS5/PC, etc) and travel around the world to compete whenever he wants. So it's nice that the winner of CapCup X is a person who train hard and played really well but also a person who needs money to improved his life.
@Staineless8410 ай бұрын
Not just that but as we all know, his winnings will be heavily taxed, roughly 40% of it, but here is the thing...he lives in Taiwan. In Taiwan it is so much cheaper to live than in the US or most of the other regions. Some things are more expensive, obvious ones being American cars, cheese and dairy in general, etc, but a standard meal in a restaurant? It's around 4 dollars per person as opposed to the USA which is 18. Average internet connection is 70 dollars in America, per month, 23-24 in Taiwan. A 1 bed apartment in America is roughly 1300 dollars on average, a little less. It's less than 300 dollars in Taiwan. This man's life is changed for a long time, as is his families lives and if he can now compete more and get a sponsor maybe then even better! Also just a fun fact, Gamerbee recommended to an unnamed sponsor that asked them who they should pick up that they get Chris Wong and Uma and they chose to sign neither. That's the biggest fumble in FGC sponsor history, surely, you were told to sign the 1st place and runner up of the tournament with the biggest prize pool in FGC history and for whatever reason ignored the advice.

@@Staineless84 Wait wait. I'm not familiar with how US tax works (sorry, i live in Southeast Asia). But you're saying UMA will "only" get around $600k from $1 million after 40% cut for taxes? That's a fking robbery man. I can understand if it's like 9-10% but 40% and UMA isn't even live in US. And yeah, those sponsors really need to put more trust for players like Chris Wong and UMA especially after they got great results in Capcom Cup.
@TheBriguy199810 ай бұрын
@@thepuppetmaster9284 Seeing as this is a one-time prize, I get how it feels like the guy deserves to keep more of his earnings, but the point of taxes working like this is so that the people earning $1,000,000 or more EVERY YEAR are contributing the most to the country rather than just becoming way richer than everyone else (honestly, taxes should be even higher/less avoidable for the richest people out there). Conversely, people who earn much less than $1,000,000 a year will pay much less % of their earnings in tax. It would be kinda weird if UMA would have to pay US taxes, I don't really know why that would happen; maybe tax rates in Taiwan are just similar to US tax rates.

I think this is a sign that the game itself is balanced incredibly well. The fact that only 3 out of 20 characters did not get into Top 48 in this massive tournament is nothing short of impressive. Plus having 9 characters in the Top 16 is also a miraculous feat, and this is still what the game was like on launch minus the DLC characters.
@EAprima10 ай бұрын
*"I think this is a sign that the game itself is balanced incredibly well."* No. Absolutely not at all. It's not atrocious but it's not even close! Have you not seen tournaments on the KoF and Virtua Fighter scenes? Have you seen the entries in most of the major SF6 tournaments that occurred since last September? Nearly every pro gamer including myself out there has been informing Capcom for the longest while that the game is heavily UNBALANCED. You have no idea how embarrassed Capcom is with the number of Lukes, Ken, Dee Jay and Juri that appeared in this tournament, it was ridiculous despite the excitement of the tournament itself. Ryu's and Zangief showcase at Capcom Cup also had Capcom making tons of notes in the form of concern, especially Ryu who is completely trumped by Ken instead of being his counterpart. Like, according to the story, didn't Ryu MASTERED his art like Gouken while Ken, who has been spending most of his time with his family and business, is on the run? That's their SF6 story but in the game Ken completely eclipse Ryu on nearly every regard? Make it make sense, Capcom. Expect changes to happen this week and tons of changes to happen in Season 2 to get the game balanced more reasonably in hope for the next capcom cup will be more focused on your skills as opposed from match-ups. It's going to happen. Will changes occur that will go beyond certain people's expectation? I doubt it, but it will be something rather than nothing. We'll see.

We have to remember from a gaming point as well, CAPCOM loves to use tournaments as a reference to either nerf or buff characters. They got what they wanted, Luke to be a main character, and popular. I think they will make some good changes now to characters to give them a fighting a chance, however I still think the game is in its early stages, even in SF5 up to the last season people were figuring out new tech so you can only imagine for SF6, and UMA definitely showed how to get around the Luke madness. Congrats to him, We are going to see a lot more Juri players online now.

This is probably not reasonable to ask and I understand the reasons for showing the thumbnail as Juri beating the favourites. But I'm in EU, Capcom Cup started close to midnight on Sunday for me. I came home on Monday planning to watch it after work, my browser opened in the YT subscriber tab and bam your video was already there and the result was spoiled even though I only saw it for a split second. Yes it's my fault for YT being the first page that opened yesterday, but I hope you will consider it! If not, all good and I need to remember to not have YT open! Thanks for the video, capcom cup was pretty cool but I wish there were some content reveal trailers. Those are always fun.
