God, that fight between 9S and A2 was badass and very emotional, especially with 9S; how he would've lived with all the lies as long as 2B was with him. To me, this was his confession of his love for 2B and how, throughout his journey, he never blamed 2B or 2E for killing him every time for learning the truth because she didn't have a choice and she hated herself every time and I'm glad now they have a happy ending together as the new Adam and Eve🥰

Yeah, It wad like 9S finally said I loves 2B which is obvious btw. 9S journey was so well written. In the game, he is the one who realises " what I have been fighting for " or " what I have been living for. " 9S & 2B were always alone. It's so nice they are happy together now in the anime. I hope 2B 9S A2 live lovey dovey together now as they all were so sweet but lonely.

See idk. I like to think they are going to try and repair everyone. Because otherwise why bring a2 back. I genuinely believe she would rather be in the afterlife with her friends. Unless they wake up and give her another mission or meaning that she has to do.

I don't think 9S and 2B will play any significant role in the future. Yoko Taro probably had a at least a vague idea of what happens after Automata for a long time (most likely during Automata's development). Using that assumption as a basis, it should be noted that Yoko Taro has left 9S' and 2B's fate after Ending E up to the fans, going as far as writing both a happy end and a tragic bad end. And now seeing Accord next to A2 in that shot, I think there's a clear implication that A2 will play a role in future events (probably not as a main character though). If anyone goes to the Kingdom of Night, it's probably going to be A2 on her own, or with Accord (because Accord could impose herself regardless of A2's protests). Meanwhile, 2B and 9S will be left to their own device (and they deserve to be left alone after everything that has happened to them, and 2B's countless collabs).

one of the best videogame adaptation into another media done right, and even elevating an already masterpiece, loved it´s it own thing instead of just a 1to1 adaptation, Jackass, Pascal, Lilly, a2 with pearl harbour and how it change her into the A2 from the game, the village and her reactions with the machines, the operators, all the changes felt right, animation at the lvl, the music hitting on the right moments, hope soon we got more of NieR in some way, automata is on my top fav games from all time, love replicant too, never play the drakengard game but been down the rabbit hole with the lore, missing my NieR fridays but found out this breakdown series and helped me coping with it's absences, NieR fridays were really special, been way to much since a got hype and really look for every episode, love all the knowledge and explaining of you videos, aprreciated

they better release NieR Replicant first, all up to the point it is revealled shades are human souls that got virtualized to wait on the moon for the eons it would take for all that salt pandemy that nearly led homo-sapiens to extinction to starve-out and dissapear from the biosphere, virtualized souls that went corrupt due to a lack of body to go back to, since the androids that were supposed to be their new bodies... gained consciousness and rejected the souls that would otherwise substitue their cobsciosuness to inhabit them. THEN release Drakengard until the end and show that dragon being magically teleproted to Japan. revealling that the salt dissesse couldn't be beaten by our science because it was actually a magical curse, which humanity from Earth simply had none of the ressources or technical knowledge necessary to fight against, like we have chemistry and medicine to fight against biological pandemies. i want to see the reaction people will have upon discovering all of NieR Gestalt/Replicant and Automata franchise are byproducts of a gag ending of some Drakengard game.

I thoroughly enjoyed the anime as it was always the highlight of my week. I'm sad it's over now but at least the English dub is still going for a little bit. Plus thanks to the anime I fell in with A2's character. I have a better appreciation for her now than I did when I played the game. I always felt something was missing but anime provide that missing piece Also I appreciated learning all of the extra lore tidbits in these videos because they definitely helped in expanding the story and answered any questions I had. For the anime fans : This ending is a mix of Ending C,D & E. Ending C - A2 cured 9S's infection & destroy the tower means killing all machines & wins the war. mission is done. She sacrifices herself to be with her family. Ending D - 9S do something crazy(spoilers*). Red girls talk to 9S inside his mind, telling him they will not kill them now & leave the planet. Adam asks 9S to come with them. 9S realises he never thet a reason to hate machines & asks himself " what I have been fighting for " Then an extra emotional scene of 9S saying good bye to 2b. Ending E - Pod042 & Pod153 fights all other pods to save 2B, 9S & A2. And a happy ending cause in the game resistance camp is also alive. Note: Who dies in the game. Devola Popola, Pascal, Operator 21O & 6O.

I just want to say that I absolutely LOVE your breakdowns! You always tell me something that I missed lol. (And I watched this episode like 4 times). The pod flashes being Morse Code for thank you is just chef's kiss! Now this episode got me MULTIPLE times. Each time I figured we reached a Bad ending, but nope. Every time lol. I have so many thoughts and not enough space to type them so I'll just sum up my favorites lol. 1. It seems like Nier and Drakegard are a Chicken and Egg Paradox. 2. I wonder if the Pod network eventually becomes the Accords..... they observe and monitor just like them. 3. I'm surprised that Emil didn't get a mention. I wonder if he could be a singularity too. 4. I wonder if we will get an Avengers Assemble line up for the final finale. With Accord present the possibility exists. 5. Could the Pods be repaired? 6. I'm sure A2 is fine. Accord wouldn't leave her broken....... right? Considering A2 wants to protect the world.... if Accord leaves her broken it would make Accord a villain. 7. I love the reference you made with 2B and 9s (and A2) being the new Adam and Eve (and Lilith). Really brought the title full circle.

As a Drakengard to Nier fan this was not just great but it was good now we see a chord Angelus & the Queen beast and replicant and reincarnation references now I. Now I have high hopes for Drakengard 3 &1 remix in the future happy 20th and 10th anniversary to Drakengard 1 and 3. I can imagine animes for them too along with replica and reincarnation, & 2B &9S living again is probably from the epilogue that was in the concert that is miserable .

@@kevinabbottlane1814 even if we might never get anything from it again, Drakengard 2 still has an amazing ost, it gave us a great ending (and boss fight) for Caim and Angelus and it has such an abundant amount of concept art, beautifully illustrating events that took place even before Drakengard 2. Some concepts and ideas of the story were fine and I didn't mind characters like Legna and Urick, but overall the gamplay and the story weren't great, especially when you have Nowe as a protagonist. It would be great if we could get a 4th Drakengard or even a remaster or remake of Drakengard 1.

I was terribly afraid of how Nier would end after watching Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom (that anime adapted a tragic version of the otherwise very happy ending of the visual novel which broke for a long time), I was hoping Nier wouldn't end the same 💀💀💀

Also 9S fights the whole tower while having suppressing the virus, in the final battle the reason his attacks are limited is cause infection has almost fully spread. For example in the ending where 9S kills A2 most of his auditory and visual functionalities are gone. Throughout the fight his movements are limited and probably the functionality of his brain as well.

Yeah, people are so biased & eager to say 9S can't win. Just like A2 evolved in many years 9S's pain and suffering made him evolve. He defeated Goliaths in the desert, he hacks Adam in the anime, make the victory. He killed many Yorha soldiers in n the tower before 2B clone fight. 9S got infection & still fought very well. Also, people don't tell this but 9S defeated Emil in the game. 9s's hacking is the strongest thing in the game. If 9S just uses his hacking he can kill A2 which thank God Yoko Taro didn't do & make a dark hideous ending like Hina Yukuki in Reincarnation.

@@ShapeMaker Exactly A2 is pretty experienced against units sent down to hunt her since she is a deserter. Also the endings are beautiful cause the original personality templates for 9s is the Type 9 and A2 and 2B has the template Type 2. This is why in the ending where 9S stabs A2 and he accidently fall on her blade(2B's) he hallucinates seeing 2 be before his visual totally shutdown and only thing that remains is the sharp pain while he slowly bleeds to death. Similarly when A2 saves 9S she caresses his face, I doubt this was due to her simply having memories of 9S. Also about strengths, what makes 9s strong isnt his combat power nor hacking, its basically his intelligence and ability to form strategies and fight accordingly. I didnt like this season of nier cause some of the more subtle events have been over dramatized and some events have been moved here and there breaking the impact and the whole story/context. Spoilers: The whole Yorha Plan is designed and executed by the original Type 9 and a little trivial, Type 9 and Type 2 loved each other where Type 9 was more outgoing and attached where Type 2 is the typical Tsundere type(There is a stage play, its pretty good).

Was there a #9 model during the Perl Harbor descent? If not, that's just another way A2 stands out as a singularity for not being a part of the "cycle". I also wonder if Accord actually repaired A2 in the game as well. Since she's distanced from 2B and 9S, it would make more sense that the Pods didn't repair her? For the Calamity, there are a discussion for long time. DOD and Nier is a loop story. In DOD3 novel story for Michael, he said that dragons had the war with puppet. And after a explosion, the puppet and dragons disappeared. In country of night, there are dragon weapons. Maybe because the explosion (calamity), Michael was transfered to DOD world.

An amazing finale. I just thought of something and I don't know if anyone has acknowledged this, but it is possible to bring humanity back. They said the human genome was safe on the moon. With cloning technology it's possible to use the genome to make new humans. Granted we don't know if they have cloning technology (though they were able to make replicants) but the human genome is around for a reason.

i'll say it again i cannot describe how happy i was to see this episode since I half expected it to not have a happy ending. from seeing the noise first appear in the credits and what It meant to seeing 2b and 9s finally have each other and get some much deserved peace after all this time and what they've been through, it was just so good. world's longest hug is incoming. maybe now they can go out and get clothes and 2b can get a tshirt. 4:42 i did kinda of suspect a2 got a white box of purity at least in spirit. did the outro with dancing 2b actually happen since it showed up again in that memory space? this anime was a wonderful little gem I found just in time to enjoy watching new episode as they came out. and accord finally showed up.

You could honestly start any of them whenever. Long story short is a novelization of the game. Short story long is a bunch of short stories. Yorha boys is another side story. I think I read long story short first. But it gives you more details on these characters pov.

This was a fun journey & a really solid adaptation. I loved havin the visual representation for things like the novel sequences we can ju show that when bringin them up. The endin def did stuff I didn't expect. The stuff wit Pod 042 def made him MVP & the light change on A2s position comes off so minor but means a lot especially factorin the sword is in her old spot. I liked the expansion & differences. They were really efficient & outside of 1 thing(u know wut) I'm pretty satisfied wit this. I had to hold in my shout for Accord I did not C that comin lol. Overall I'm glad how this turned out & I'm excited to C where yoko goes from here. I unfortunately don't have a PS5 so rn I can't play SB(which I've wanted to) & especially not the new DLC so playthrough watch it is for me lol. This journey was fun here tho I joined partway. Yeah. The reason that theory came up was because in the novel a2 has the memories of a young girl who lived at a farm with her grandma. And everyone assumed it was kaine. Now it could be a different kaine from what we know from in the games. It could be a gestalt kaine. But nothing as far as I know has been confirmed. It's just all theories right now.

Well..... It's over. And now there only emptiness... I fell a slight amount of... Sadnees. I will miss it. I only entered into this world of Yoko Tako with the game just only in this year... The battle of the pods was an great solution to resolves the Ending E without the participation of the player directly. In the game, we are the Pods. This looks Very similar of 'internal view' and 'external' view with "the End of Evangelion" and "eps 25 and 26" of Neon Genesis Evangelion. I cried when pod 042 asks is 2B is watching him in his last attacks 😭 Its a little Sad that the pods 042 and 153 didnt survived in the end... I felt that the ending of the Anime was much more optimistic than of the game, besides I think the breaking of the 4th wall in the game is even more epic. As 2B and 9S waking up together, unfortunately the Farewell Epilogue ends up not being possible. Its Very emotive the Farewell epilogue, for me. But it is still possible to include the "End of Data" epilogue. 2B9S surviving could be liked to the Great Calamity Just like the Hex codes Said. But I believe that ALL the interference caused by singularities are conected o this Cataclysm just as NieR was brought back by Kainé during the Lost World. I imagined that Accord might appear at some point, because ALL of this changes of the timeline. Finally, I just have to thank you for accompanying me on this journey. You don't mention that 9S recites the script when he meets 2B for the "first" time in the flight unit. And I don't think 9S was "born" more alone than any other unit (maybe the twins). That was so emotional, and I broke down every time I rewatched it. Something that you implied in the video, but I feel like adding that it's just 3 of them in the world that's remaining. Not sure how quickly they're going to rebuild stuff. Didn't YT say in one of his interviews, that the android genitals were not replicated from humans so they have no genitals? And without machine cores or black boxes, I'm not sure what kind of vessel they'll come up with to revive the android species or any equally sentient species. I really would have liked more people in this ending. Gosh it's so depressing to think about this ... this anime was one hell of ride. The other thing is, that the virus is like depression, it only shows you what's not there. And memories of losing. Rather than memories of family, and achieving the wins of life. This is so well timed that I needed it really, really badly. Especially, now that the sunlight hours are diminishing, my mood disorders are going to return. But I need anime like this to having hope, like A2.

Also, this is so significant, but it is never mentioned here. 9S never evolved emotionally and spiritually. He never had the time to process what he's been through, and all the denial and anger that he experiences is something A2 has also gone through, but a really long time ago. 9S did not exist for more than a month at a time to experience grief, sorrow, pain, loss, and finding bitter-sweetness in his memories, so his memories are scarce here. I thought the anime did not show much of his memories for this reason, ... which is very sad. Is it possible that folks who are constantly fighting to survive in this world are perpetually stuck in their current situations because they don't take the time to reflect? How else do we connect this anime to the real world? What is YT trying to tell us here?

Perhaps the Watchers and the Flower and the Dragons are all a result of Process 11. That would make for an interesting loop of events. The Calamity occurs The Watchers destroy humanity as part of their last ditch effort, Humanity Creates Androids. Androids, in their desperation to restore or recreate Humanity, end up making the Watchers etc instead. They either go back in time or are banished by "the two" but that banishment sends them to 856. Kickstarting the events of Drakengard. while I kinda like the quasi Terminator style loop that creates, it's slightly confusing because I could have sworn reading somewhere that the Androids and Replicants banishing all the Giant/G-Type Maso that caused White Chlorination Syndrome also took a chunk of city with it (as well as tidally locking earth to the sun and maybe taking a chunk out of the moon... or maybe the moon chunk was caused by something else I don't remember.) and THAT was what caused the Calamity/Catastrophe. So who knows. What I do know is that, once you get on Yoko Taro's wild ride. The ride never ends.

I think a lot of those events are separate, but might be catalysts for the Calamity. We know that the cult of the watchers/legion becomes a thing for a brief moment in the Nier universe before WCS is completely eradicated, data on that is recorded in Sleeping Beauty, and Sleeping Beauty eventually becomes part of the last records of Humanity. It's an ironic twist that humans created higher intelligence that would destroy them, but not intentionally. Also, I think the moon thing was Emil when he was fighting the aliens. I honestly question the origin of the aliens, the machine network itself seems like it could have been built on top or as an offshoot of Sleeping Beauty. Then there's the Dragons who were fighting "worms" (I thought they were the aliens) and "puppets" before the calamity. So many questions 😂

Still upset, the Pods went down. The game had them still up and running while seeing the three recover. I liked the Pods as much as the Three Protags. Both 2B's and 9S's Pods were and are the best l companions in NA. But the game showed more Pods helping in the repairs, so this ending really hurt and upset me. One theory is we are an element that is present in some timelines so we are the catalyst for change. Hence why so much went bad for everyone in the anime. Accord recognizes our presence at least.

Well, the first half yes had some delays because of covid and then in the US the English dub got delayed for the strikes. That's out of everyone control. And if people dropped it along that time frame it's a shame. But overall the show got pretty good reviews across the board. I do not think it did that terrible. I agree. I do not think it will be an anime adaption. But yoko taro is setting up to potentially have something big coming. But it's a matter of if square enix pays him. Lol.

Anime-only viewer. When the moon crashes and A2 lifts her arm towards the sky, there are individual packets of light that stream upwards (not talking about the solid beam of light).
