That was one of his best interviews. It's "fun" when he wants to be funny the whole time and joking around and play the character. Here was just being himself and being somewhat serious...it was refreshing and gives more information and perspective...

When I saw Shelley Berman on the first Curbs, I nearly fell of my chair! In 1958, when I was five years old, my parents and I were visiting my uncle (Dad’s next younger brother) and he put on this new album by this comedian, Shelley Berman. I listened to it about 8-10 times for the next 25 years or so.

@@PierceTravels The joke about the actor aging "logarithmically" is a humorous way to say that the actor has always appeared to be much older than their actual age and that this perceived age doesn't seem to increase at the same rate as their actual age. In mathematics, a logarithmic growth rate increases quickly at first but slows down over time. Applied to aging, it suggests that the actor looked significantly older early on, but as time passes, their appearance changes more slowly compared to their actual age. So, even though 30 years have passed, their appearance hasn't seemed to age as much as one would expect linearly, hence the joke.

Out of all of the comedians we have these days, who are all some sort of evolution of the 'clown' profession, Larry David is the most direct descendent. He just willingly makes himself open to ridicule time and time again by playing a silly and despicable version of himself, and because he doesn't give a crap if you laugh at him, you are laughing both at him and with him at the same time. Genius.

It’s offensive in the most charming and inviting way, if that even makes sense. It’s inclusive without trying to be inclusive. It’s the perfect culmination of contradictions. It just lets people be, however crazy, bizarre and lovable that may be. Long live Larry David ❤
