SOMETHING IN THE AIR--THUNDERCLAP NEWMAN (NEW ENHANCED VERSION) 1969

Here is another great oldies classic I have been wanting to enhance. I planned on starting on the Partridge Family's 2nd album but I decided to
do this one first. I tried to make it a more balanced stereo version. My Telecaster 6 matched the sound of the original guitar on the left channel
that I played on the right. The drums were buried so I replayed them.
Made some interesting audio instrument tracks in in middle bridge.

I literally listen to this song every day of my life. I distinctly remember the first time I heard it. A party in a girlfriend's back yard. I was in a bad wreck my senior year and her folks moved across country. Song means a hell of a lot to me!

The enhancement of this classic, from my teenage years, is simply fantastic and what this song should have sounded like all along! The sharp musical notes, the percussion, and the bass truly bring out the best this song could be, I truly love it, thanks for your hard work to make this what it is, sure like to hear it over and over as I reflect on great memories from my past.

Awesome job!! The very young **Jimmy McCulloch** on guitar, who went on to join McCartney's WINGS.. Sadly, ..>On 27 September 1979, McCulloch was found dead by his brother in his flat in Maida Vale, London.[12] An autopsy found that McCulloch died of heart failure due to morphine and alcohol poisoning. He was 26 years old and was not known for being a user of hard drugs..... & Thunderclap Newman was an English rock band that Pete Townshend of the Who and Kit Lambert formed in 1969 in a bid to showcase the talents of John "Speedy" Keen, Jimmy McCulloch, and Andy "Thunderclap" Newman...... Somehow appropriate for what's going on in the States right now. A feeling of desperate optimism with a little bit of loneliness. Thanks for working on this one, Kenn. By the way, I attempted to contribute to your channel, but couldn't. Apparently not owning either a mobile or cell phone is an insurmountable obstacle. Most frustrating. If anybody's channel deserves contributions, yours does. These old songs bring back some faded memories of 50 years ago when times were better than they are now. Thank you for that.

@Michael M. Hi, Michael. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. In the early hours of January 3rd 2022, Kenn passed away . He suffered a heart attack while sleeping. He was only 66 years old and was, by all accounts, a big advocate of vitamins, supplements and sensible eating. It's a huge loss to us (his followers). All of our thoughts are with Kenn's family and friends. If you go to Kenn's final post featuring Spanky & Our Gang (Sunday Will Never Be The Same) you'll see my eulogy as well as those from other devotees. Kenn put his musical and editing/mixing talents to perfect use. He and his wonderful productions will be deeply missed.

@@kenkesler3087 Wow, so sorry to hear this. I didn't know him, but I always looked forward to notifications from his channel when he released another enhanced song. I had mentioned how amazed I was at how absolutely perfectly crisp and clean he could make these songs sound and how I didn't know it was even possible to improve the sound of these original recordings the way he did. He actually responded to me once and explained the process, which was way over my head LOL! I am glad that we still have access to all of these songs that he brought new life to. He will be missed.

OMG! I had just 'revived' this track last week after some forty years listening to it on the AM Radio 2SM in Sydney - and now there is this amazing enhance to enjoy! Thanks, and well done! WOW! I haven’t heard this original version in DECADES! This original version was played quite a bit by KSHE-95 in my native STL when I was growing up-I’ve heard Tom Petty’s remake quite a few times but I’m glad that you’ve refreshed the original classic-PS-Great remix-especially the piano riff!!!

I was 12 yrs old back in the 60's. My sister was 18. She had all the records at home. Beatles, Stones everybody. Maplewood Pool was my hang out. Mom would give me a dollar. Enough for a hot dog and soda. And a stop by White Castle on the way back home. I lived right behind the Maplewood Theater. Those were the days.

Very good, I like how you've kept it 'in period' and with panned drums which were becoming more and more popular by '69 but often overlooked and stuck in the middle, or worse, to one side (usually when they only had 4-8 tracks). I've added bass to a track called Mr. Radio by ELO of which I really like, but always wondered why there was none on it. Even stranger is the lack of bass on Thin Lizzy's Whisky in the Jar, although I recall reading Phil Lynott wasn't really taking the recording seriously as he thought it was a bit novelty. Maybe that's next :)

how do you decide who's who what is the ultimate direction of your fight? growing up in the 60's i had hoped there might be some improvements in our society/politics etc., that never materialized and as you stated everything is screwed up in our government, locally all the way up to globally. all we have is extreme partisan bullshit with no meeting of any minds!! until then, enjoy the music, particularly this great song/enhancements.

I do not want to shoot anyone. 1/6/22 was the machinations of a power-hungry madman and his henchmen meant to overthrow the legitimately established peaceful transfer of administrations after an election and he still has a cult following of approx. 1/3rd of the population of this country. that insanity speaks for itself. in terms of those of us that grew up in the 60s, we prayed for a revolution against the insanity of the war in Viet Nam. unfortunately, that did not end until 1975 with over 2,000,000(est.) Vietnamese fatalities and 58,200 U.S. servicemen and women. this is what thunderclap newman was singing about!!
