Purely speaking on the smile, I'm the son of a photographer. I can no longer "smile" perfectly on command without trying to make myself laugh or something. If you have to do something so much on command, you stop being able to do it naturally on command, you start overthinking it, it becomes manual, not something you just "do" - at least in my experience. For whatever it’s worth with the eyes thing (just playing devils advocate here), there’s a huge difference in tired and depressed eyes. It’s one thing to be smiling when you’re at your happiest, it’s a totally different thing to have hundreds of people in front of you, taking pictures, and if you don’t look happy enough for them because you’re just exhausted, they’ll scream ‘HEY!!! FUCKIN SMILE MAN!!!’ so you’ll throw out the biggest, fakest smile ever, and that’s the one that they’ll put on the front page… because they created a duality and must profit from it lol. That’s really all I see in those pictures of his eyes. Someone who’s just a little in over their head and has too much being expected of them physically and mentally… not depression or anything.
