Hassan this is nitpicking. Wahaj's scene was beautiful and nobody noticed the no tears part coz there were tears in his eyes, maybe not flowing. If you have ever cried a lot, you know after a point, the tears just stop rolling. It's like you sat down and tried to find out the negative part in this scene when you should have just watched and let his emotions speak to you. I cried when he cried. I was thinking about young jimmy, how he tried to escape the hell that his life was, too naive to realize what the consequences would be, what would happen to his mother. It's all coming back to him. He probably holds himself responsible. That's the emotion i think now wiser Jimmy was going through and Wahaj portrayed it brilliantly.

DNUTN: what an exceptional story. I mean where do I even start . The episode was gut wrenching. We knew this village and its people , we spent so much time with them in initial episodes. Chacha majeed getting mud from the river bank on tomato and then shaping it into bowls at home. We saw the extreme poverty they lived in. We also saw his love for Rakhi. How he started crying remembering the night she came back from the dead. The way he practically howled when she was being sold off. And we all remember the greed of Sadia’s in laws. Those nasty, ruthless, greedy people. It all started because of jahez. I don’t think a better story has been told on how jahez can destroy a complete family

Till now I have babbled on and on (and rightly so!) about Yumna's brilliance as an actress but this post tonight is dedicated to one actor in particular. The latest installment of DNUTN was such an ELECTRIC one...charging with twists and emotions....loved each and everything about it but for me, this episode belonged to one and only Wahaj Ali. WHAT A POWERHOUSE OF TALENT! His scene with his friend....when he asks 'kahaan gaee woh?' the agony coating his inflection, the shiver accompanying his voice was so beautifully accomplished by Wahaj.......... when he comes to know about his mother's death......WOW....my heart constricted for a second or two seeing that pain dancing across Jimmy's face.....that element of restraint that he employed was such a master stroke.......PURE GENIUS! And back in the car, when he breaks down in front of Rakhi.....man o man......and what the hell are you talking about Hasan? The tears WERE THERE....VERY MUCH THERE.......koi 99 out of 100 nahin....this was a 110 out of 100 performance! Full marks to Wahaj Ali.....he proved once again that Basim was no flash in the pan......he is excellence personified no matter which role he does......AWESOME! TOO GOOD!

I absolutely agree with you 💯, and I find myself rewatching that impactful scene with Wahaj in DNUTN, also his scenes in Ehed e wafa! I’ve been his fan for a while and couldn’t understand why he wasn’t getting the accolades he deserved, and now in 2023, he is finally recognised but in a mediocre romantic tongue in the cheek, OTT drama, but his acting in it is brilliant together with Yumna Zaidi, both showing what a powerhouse of talents they are from DNUTN, to Tere Bin! Personally I prefer Wahaj to Feroze or Danish, who generally end up in drama as toxic men!

DNUTN, that scene with Jimmy crying..Wahaj you made us cry with you. No, I will not nitpick and look for whether you were shedding actual tears - I leave that to the reviewers. But the pain of the young child Jamshed still trapped in the adult was so heartbreaking- we felt that. That kid never had a chance to heal- perhaps only on the surface. This episode belonged to you, Wahaj, where you unabashedly broke down as a leading man on screen and you were totally unafraid to show the extent of your grief. Kudos to you! May you reach new heights with your talent sir mashaAllah! Yumna, Yasra & Samia Mumtaz are ❤...also need to mention the beautiful dialogs between Zulfi and Seemi Raheel..🌹. Aamna Mufti your story shines.

I started watching DNUTN because of Something Haute. I was so frustrated with Pakistani dramas because of the continuous misery and saas bahu or sister rivalry that is so reminiscent of Indian TV. And was actually terrified to watch the show thinking it would be one of those shows that leaves you depressed. But it was one of those shows that make you realize you are alive and a participant in this world. Makes you feel like you can and should do something.

DNUTN: 100% agree with the title 'DNUTN is class apart'. What an excellent episode...I'm unable to praise this drama enough. A huge Credit goes to Aamna mufti anf Kashif nisar...brilliantly written and brilliantly directed. I never thought that they would connect the story of naseem zahra to trafficking like this...phenomenal storytelling👏👏👏 It was powerful yet an emotional episode 1. Naseem zahara leaving her home made me feel emotional and worried. 2. That scene when Jamshed and rakhi reach their village...Jimmy's breakdown when he got to know about his mother...my god wahaj's performance was top notch and then rakhi going to her father's qabr made me cry...yumna was PHENOMENAL. 3. Zulfi the most suspicious character of the drama...really curious to know if he's a good guy or a bad guy. Just waiting for the next episode.

It really deserves a bigger platform tbh, it needs to be exposed to the world. I dont see any single drama in this time which is streaming on big channels like hum, geo or ary that meets the standard of dnutn. I shouldnt even mention heo here because taking its name with this masterpiece is just an insult to dnutn. Geo should just get shut down because of the classless drama they stream. Whereas, Naseem Zehra's track has moved straight from past to present. So initially Naseem zehra's track was hope and now Jimmy n Rakhi track give light and hopeful vibe. Excellent direction. What an episode of DNUTN. I thought writers in Pakistan were not capable of writing crime mystery/ suspense genre. Amna Mufti proved me wrong. 😊 The way the story began with different tracks, and different time zones, and then how all tracks got connected at the present time, every thing fitting like a jigsaw puzzle, shown brilliantly down to each detail with no loopholes. Now the suspense, is Zulfi, the under cover man, the saviour? Is Noman Ijaz the big boss? How and who would bust the gang? All keenly waiting for the mystery to unravel, step by step. Amna Mufti gave a slap to all those who thought entertainment and social message couldn’t go together. Move over male writers, the writers of the year are both women, Amna and B Gul. Standing ovation 👏👏👏A male is busy writing childish Alif Leila stories, a pari in a khota, the princess and the pauper and the magical foreteller, the dancing baba.😂 while a woman is writing a crime mystery.😍👏

Yumna & Wahaj both are actors who have grown on me through each of their performances... whether its a light-hearted romance or something serious here, in fact Wahaj is the only reason I was watching Fitoor, so glad he is finally back in the drama... but fave part of this review - your comments on the zoom-in/zoom-out Star-Plus drama style in Ishq Hai - I agree, at least for Indians like me, I like to watch Pakistani drama's because they have better story lines, and are for a limited time period so there is a conclusion, and none of the unrealistic zoom ins from Star Plus saas-bahu saga's (which I don't even watch)!

About KHUDA AUR MUHABBAT: So if a girl rejects you, you become a fakeer? The bar is not that low. This is so stupid. This show is just not making any sense anymore as far as the fakeer premise is concerned. This is religiously insensitive and is anti pro choice for women. If a girl has made it clear she doesn't want to be with you or has rejected you, you stalk her to her home and try to force her to love you and she deserves to be punished or will be punished by God and her life will be ruined and will one day magically start loving you? What is this show even trying to convey? Do you get it? I DO NOT.

She and my khalu have spent a total of 15 months together in these 21 years. Illnesses, sickness, fights, school and hospital runs, bank runs, market runs etc every single thing on her own. And still doing the same. Her suffering is far from over. She didn't have a choice. I wonder how did she do that.

Is this what life is all about? Is this the purpose of marriage; to engage in a lifelong hell. I sometimes get angry on the women too, don't they have a tongue, can't they speak for their rights? Why do they tolerate such things like a dumb deaf good for nothing girl? With no offence to your Khala, I am just stating this generally for all women out there.

DNUTN: Unpopular opinion but as great as Rakhi and Jamshed's tracks are, I find the portrayal of Naseem Zehra's track quite problematic. People keep mentioning how her mother plays the role of a strong woman, but to this day I don't know when she actually showed strength. Homeschooling her daughters was the least she could do, being an educated woman herself. She literally accepted the decision of Naseem being married to Sherwani as 'fate'. It was Naseem herself who tried to find a way out, but even then, for her mom to let her go ABROAD without knowing anything about these people just makes her seem stupid! When she said, agar tumhare abba mujhe talaq bhi deden toh koi baat nahin.. I was like???? Where was this attitude when Naseem was actually being engaged to this old man? Also, the fact that they never actually openly and loudly said 'No' to the rishta just makes the 'escape' even more annoying. The father's character itself is also weirdly portrayed. Many times they have tried to show that the dad genuinely does care in his very strange way, so the fact that hes willing to marry Naseem off to this old man really doesn't add up. And blaming it on 'I'm too poor' really makes it even more nonsensical because even men in the village who genuinely care for their daughters realize marrying them to someone much older isn't right... In the earlier episodes, when they would show Sherwani eyeing the child, Naseem, I was waiting for the day he would suggest something to the father and the father would finally see Sherwani for the predator that he is. But when the father, himself, suggested the wedding, I was confused as anything... In any case, the drama is undoubtedly super engaging and the way the stories are connected is superb! Hoping for a strong end as well! 🙌

Yes I agree. Naseem zahra's mother role is very week and not inspirational at all. Please never let your girls go out like that whatever you think that there is no other option. They should have actually tried to convince the father to go ahead with studies and should have reached the female coach that was in school to do something about it. Reaching someone on internet is not the way to fulfill your dreams. Even boys can be scammed in this way if they try to pursue their dreams.

I can see how many people can find naseem zehra's track off, but I find it to be a great representation of the horrid side of middle class desi families. Mother's and women in general are taught to never say no, they still show Their disagreement which is a big step. Seriously that's the culture of average middle class people. Husband is almost God. Also it's very typical of desi parents to give in to societal/cultural pressure over the betterment of their children. They may also be part of the Society believing that this is what's good for them, even if we can see how wrong, they are Hella convinced that they are being caring parents.

Naseem's mom is after all a simple woman dependent on her husband, she has no family support..for such a woman to support her daughter despite all these limitations is commendable. She felt helpless when her husband said he will divorce her and there was no way out so she gave in, but when naseem found a way out she was brave again. The father loves his daughters but is a weak person. It is not easy to change stereotypes in our society especially in this class.. a man with 3 daughters can be easily influenced in our society
@laraibjaved4613
@laraibjaved4613 3 жыл бұрын
Another thing, the mother may be educated but she still has been shown to be a very simple and innocent person. Like when she doesn't realize that she has to buy a phone for herself as well. She doesn't realize the evil of outside of the world probably because she has zero exposure. Yet she is still scared. So when she sees a way out for her daughter, it is then where she doesn't care about the talaq threat. If she would have said no, she could have gotten kicked out and naseem would still be married to a monster.

@@trojanwar760 firstly it’s my god given right to watch whatever I so wish, and who the hell are you to tell me what to do? Importantly I do watch good Pakistani dramas like Dil na umeed to nahi, and Alif, and even the oldies like ZGH, and sadquay Tumhare etc! I think a diet of dramas based on abuse of women is hardly empowering, mostly telling girls that be silent obey and suffer then one day all will be okay! Your country makes some very good social dramas, so these one I critique are those who have no empowering messages, but reinforces male dominance, subservience to the man’s family,parents forcing their daughters to return to their marital homes where abuse and ill treatment is occurring! I don’t know about you, but from where I live, we have every right to watch and comment on anything we so wish! We don’t get low IQ people like you telling us what to do! Grow up child!

I'm not even done with the video yet, but I must say that for the first time, I agree with Amna. Some people don't shed tears while crying, doesn't make their pain any lesser. At one point, I also went through a phase where I couldn't cry with tears even when I was extremely emotional or had a breakdown. (I do now tho :P) The point is, Wahaj is an excellent actor, and IMO, what makes you a great actor is not how many tears you shed, but the intensity of emotions you portray while doing such scenes. Last but not the least, DNUTN is such a masterpiece in all aspects. I think after watching content like DNUTN and Raqeeb Se, the rest of the drama writers should apologize to the audience for the trash that they are producing and learn to write a story first, not even a good one, just a NORMAL story.

Similarly in the movie bol although the character of Iman ali was "glamorous" however her story was also tragic which is why she moved her daughter to Qazi's house. The bottom line from these two stories are every shining thing is not a gold.
