What Amna and Hassan have been discussing here in Badzaat review is called Marry Your Rapist Law in legal parlance here. These laws were part of historical legal punishment. This basically means that if you marry or offer to marry the victim then you are exonerated of your crime or the least that you can get a lenient punishment. Many countries have such a law that prevent victims marrying their rapists. Its not legally allowed in many countries. Especially here when victim is minor at the time of rape you cannot marry her even after she becomes adult without the permission of court when the rapist is convicted. But essentially it is made to look like victim has a choice and she wants to marry the rapist to save herself further embarrassment. Both in India and Pakistan rape is non compoundable crime which means that its punishment cannot be negotiated on the basis of a compromise (marriage in this case). This awareness needs to spread more.

@@jasvirkaur4361 Jo Amna aur Hasan badzaat k bare main discuss kar rahe hain usko English me Marry Your Rapist Law kehte hain. Ye ek aisi practice hai jo legally kafi countries me banned hai. Ek rapist aur aur uske victim ki shaadi nhi ho sakti. Aisa dikhaya jata hai ki victim ka consent hai shaadi me jisse ki rapist ki maafi mil jaye lekin India aur Pakistan dono me hi Rape ek non compoundable offense hai matlab jiski saza me riyayat ya maafi nhi ho skti chahe shaadi bhi kyun naa ho jayein. Agar courts is law ko strictly apply kare toh aise victim rapist marriages ko 100% ban kar sakti hai.

Dobara: I think its pretty simple. The OST shows that there is going to be a harassment accusation from Sehr and probably the maid will be the witness that it is a conspiracy. I think Maher is also showing a good side in dealing at the office. He did put Affan in charge of a big project after putting him down. I think he started off with a sly mind but he might actually fall in love with Mehru..My two cent. We DO want to watch and enjoy every scene. Attractive faces and great performances. Loving it.

Both of you make it so much fun to watch Something Haute… thank you..One thing I feel that the narrative of Dobara has missed out is that Islam does allow a woman to marry a man younger than her. Our beloved rasool himself got married to Bibi Khadijah (ra) when she was 40years old and he was 25… So I feel adding this somehow in the narrative would and should get Mehru some respect from her circle of friends and family 😊

Additionally our beloved prophet was single ,while she was widowed twice.but about narrating islam will get respect or acceptance to a woman ? Dobara: I agree the story didn't progress much but the episode was mood lifting and entertaining. I thoroughly enjoyed the way Mahir interacted & dealt with everyone in the house, and then in the office. And sorry Aamna, I disagree with your point that whatever good Mahir does or say, is deceitful & some sort of manipulation. I believe he does have a humane side, and we saw that in earlier episodes when he was just Mehru's friend; also the way he is nice to the mulazmma (sorry i dont remember her name), or the way he always tells Mehru to be in good terms with Affan & Minal (it feels genuine), and then in this recent episode the way he told those two employees not to mock Affan - it felt real. Here, I will give credit to the writer, and Bilal Abbas - for his performance, the way his character is written & shown, many a times it confuses the viewers about his real intentions; to which i will say job well done! 😊

About angna, i watched a few episodes of it and it was quite clearly established that zain (ali abbas's character) has a childhood trauma due to which he is highly influenced by his mom (rubina ashraf's character). Zain's mom is very dominating and has been dictating zain throughout his life. Zain himself is a good guy but in presence of his mom he is a completely different person. In that scene, zain's mom says to eshaal (rabab hashmi's character) quite disgustingly ke ye kia pehna hua hai change karke aao and when eshaal refers to zain saying abhi tou aapne kaha achi lag rahi hu then his mom says really zain? I think in that scene ali abbas's acting was exceptional. Since zain never did anything that opposes his mom in any way whatsoever and for a guy who is very weak as a man as well his reaction was understandable but the writers should have discouraged the act in one way or another. For an educated girl like eshaal and educated woman like zain's mom they should have shown the condemnation. In my opinion, if rubina ashraf's character would have in return slapped zain that would have been a great way to give message against domestic abuse. For a woman who does not appreciate his son and daughter-in-law having any sort of relationship whatsoever but still slapping his son for slapping another woman would have been a great message to the audience that no matter what the situation, a slap is never acceptable.

DOBARA: It is undoubtedly the best storyline and plot with the most interesting performers to date on HUM TV: Hadiqa Kiani, Bilal, and Sakina Samo. Loved each and every bit of their performance. Honestly, it is such a joy watching their scenes together. In this episode, it almost looked like Bilal sought some motherly affection and a Tom-and-Jerry relationship with Phuppo, somewhat as he had with his step-mom, except that she was genuinely a toxic character. However, it is an unsaid truth but Bilal's comic timing and just effortless expressions with Phuppo were the highlight of the dinner table scene and also where Mehru amusingly asks Mahir to not tease Phuppo. The office scenes and Bilal's entire conduct and persona were extremely solid and attractive. The scene where he lectures the 2 boys did not seem to be insincere and nor did when he made Minal realize her mother's sacrifices. I say this because we know that Mahir himself has had his fair share of deprivation from parental love and understands it well. He has seen Mehru share her concerns and thoughts with him as friends about her children and their objections. Mahir had decided to stay away from Mehru even when Affan accosted him the first time he visited her house, without any insincere intentions. So, at the back of his mind, he does have this considerate side owing to his own neglect. We must also recall the scene at the restaurant when Mahir almost revealed and then changed the topic when he was confessing to Mehru what she meant for him and what she gave him in the life that he never really had. I think the answer is Mahir never had true love and affection and was a reliant and sincere companion. He only got misled by what happened at Nayyara's house before the dinner. I agree with Amna that they could have definitely shown some sort of romance and intimacy between the characters after the prolonged scenes of stroking Mahir's head in a motherly fashion. Thye could definitely have shown hands holding when he praised her hands or even in the car when he gave her the coffee or when Mahir was talking about his parents, Mehru could be shown to hold his hands or touch his face or shoulder to stop saying such things about his father or about himself dying. The maid surely has significance in the next 2 episodes when she will be the witness to save Mahir from the allegations by the time it would be too late and Mehru would have already punished/asked Mahir to go out of the house for flirting with Seher. I think that when Mehru would leave Mahir on this allegation, Affan will get to find out about the scam Zameer was trying to do with his business and how Mahir was saving the company and he actually loved Mehru , is when Affan himself will bring Mahir back home to his mother and by that time, even Mahir will have realized how much he loves Mehru already to deceive her. Because there is a scene in some teaser when he confesses to Babar about how Mehru is actually sincere to him and he would feel bad about himself once again. All in All, Mahir will fall in love with Mehru badly and much more than Mehru has fallen for him so much that after he will have all the property to his possession, he will feel he did it all in vain because he never wants to leave Mehru as he never really found anyone in his life who loved him and cared for him so selflessly like she did even when they were just friends. I am heavily invested in the characters and love every scene of this drama. Hadiqa Kiani is a treat to watch but I just wish we could see more of Mahir and Mehru's romance together. Moreover, the last scene when Mehru's eyes just so aimlessly wander and settle at Mahir who is engrossed in some thoughts, and how she tilts her head to focus on her thoughts about him is just divine. It was so heartening to see how Mahir just senses her eyes watching him and how he looks back and smiles at her and she just blooms like a flower in a second with so much hope and desires in her eyes and a warm smile .

To say veteran actors take on roles that glorify a woman getting slapped, hit and tortured because they have no choice, it’s their “bread and butter” says a lot about how much of a voice they have in the industry OR how much of their voices they’ve actually used (I wonder if they even question/refuse to engage in these messages). If they ALL collectively refused, the director/producers would have no choice but to omit these scenes. I mean, it’s not like directors/producers would give a new face the chance - we see the same dozen or so faces in every damn drama. Therefore, the actors DO have clout which they probably don’t voice collectively. Similar to the actors who take on these roles, the audience has a “voice” too - and that comes in our viewership. Stop watching a drama the minute you see these unnecessary displays of violence against women - your people have become immune to seeing them - they are desensitized, so at least consider the long term ramifications as a result of your consumption. The minute I saw the scene in AMK where Feroze dragged Nimra by the neck, I stopped watching that drama. Even though I was enjoying it until that point, and I found the premise interesting - I refused to tune in ever again after that scene. If everyone did this, as viewership drops, the directors/producers will adjust based on the consumer. This, along with actors collectively refusing to act out scenes that erroneously show a woman getting hit may change the tide. Everyone has to do their part. No one is denying these things occur in society-but why is it shown in almost every drama? Change the damn narrative-it’s 2022 for goodness sakes! As far as badzat - anyone who enjoys/likes that over the top, over dramatized, delusional type of storyline - well, it’s exactly the mindset the drama/Bollywood industry has created. Congrats! And that is exactly why change needs to occur. I appreciate Imran Ashraf’s work in his some of his previous work; additionally, he seems like such a genuine and nice human - but the comments that state his performance in badzat is “mind blowing” “out class”, “stellar performance” or whatever else….those comments make me wonder what one’s definition of a great performance is? In today’s day and age, just about every person has access to a mobile phone & some streaming service/KZbin - most people have seen shows from other countries, so it’s fair to say they’ve been exposed to performances from international actors - thus, they have a gauge to rate a true stellar performance. Be honest enough to say the performances from imran ashraf, feroze khan and all the MIL’s, martyred females just don’t hit an acceptable standard. Stop setting the bar so damn low. Want to see stellar - go watch Jo Bichar Gaye - each and every performance was “mind blowing”….and guess what, they did it without humiliating a female, or slapping her, or torturing her, or marrying her off to her harasser. It is 2022, let’s welcome all the directors & producers to it! 🙄

We need to settle this debate once and for all….. Our drama has two completely different type of audience! One who loves dramatic and OTT acting and absurdities and will put dramas like AMK, Amanat and Badzaat on trending. And the other who appreciates uniquely crafted, deeply inspiring and progressive stories like DNUTN, Raqeeb Se and many more but sadly we are very few in numbers. But I appreciate you two for taking out time to review all of the above! we understand when you are frustrated with the nonsense content you have to review and we wont mind if you stop reviewing them. Pakistani web content is far more better than this.

To be honest, you can enjoy both types of dramas. I enjoy serious artistic dramas, DNUTN was one of my favourites and I also really enjoyed Jo Bichar Gaye & parizaad. But sometimes the OTT dramas can be guilty pleasures to watch, just for entertainment value. I really enjoy Wali's character in badzaat, even more than Musa in Raqse Bismil tbh. Obviously it has unrealistic elements, but sometimes the acting & chemistry can make up for it, like Imran Ashraf's acting. I think Imran & Urwa have more chemistry here than in Mushk.

There is another category as well........the one of diehard fans.....take Wahaj Ali's fans for example.....if he does something like DNUTN or JBG, his fans go gaga over 'substance'......and if he does a crappy play like Fitoor and plays a loser like Hamza, the same fans go crazy as to how 'intense and outstanding' his portrayal was.......this being said, I am a huge Wahaj Ali fan myself but yes I do believe in calling the spade a spade......I ABHORRED Fitoor and was very disappointed in Wahaj when he said 'Hamza is one of my most favourite characters'.....matlab kuchh bhi?

Dobara is currently the best drama. I enjoyed watching its episode a lot, especially the last scene between Mahir and Mehru. Also, I don't agree with Aamna that everything Mahir is doing, it's out of manipulation or insincerity. Mahir has a good and sad side to him, which is why we can't hate/dislike him. When it's about his fondness for Mehru, he's in some sort of a denial mode (and will continue to be in it for some time) as right now, his only focus is to become a successful man.

Dua in Aye Musht e Khaaq has become so irritating. I am sick of everyone pampering her and making her an angel, when she is fooling everyone and is a hypocrite. Specially disappointed with Daayan, the way he is treating his wife. Totally agree with Hassan, Tabeen needs justice. The poor girl is nothing but a maid to Dua. Dayaan’s total conversation with his wife is about Dua, it’s like explaining to a attendant how to take care of his sister. Never once did he ask his wife how she was, it’s always bechari Dua. Both Tabeen and her brother were used by Dayaan to solve his family problems. Is the writer trying to stereotype a good, pious bahu in a religious family? He is not negative, just human and reacting to what he got from life and relations. He would gradually start trusting relations and fall in love. The reality is that mostly, in our society, very young girls marrying old men or vice versa , specially where the older partner is loaded, have some selfish reasons also, and do not marry just for love. This is a love story , but that would develop gradually. Also I am loving Maahir in a grey character. Black and white characters are boring.

Badzaat: ZQ was so irritating she herself made a drama of whole situation it seemed she already had a desire to marry her daughter to daniyal because he is rich and khandani thats why she rejected wali even knowning that he loves her daughter

The kind of scripts Urwa is picking are hideous. From Amanat to Badzaat, her roles are pathetic sorry to say.

I respect you guys a lot & I never really come to comment everytime but your AyeMushtEKhaak review seems to be a little immature & more of a roasting review rather than discussing the main story/characters, you guys are just focusing on the side characters/actors & justice campaign for them which is a good thing but don't do it at the cost of other actor's hardwork & performance, like you put Daniyal's interview with such a "click bait" title either intentionality or unintentionally making it more about Sana's controversy & draging the attention of keyboard warriors when you very well know the mentality of your people who doesn't know how to praise one actor without dragging the other one down. And I really feel sorry for Feroze the way people come at him everytime with their hatred, I mean if Daniyal is not getting the main lead role so it's Feroze's fault, if something happens to him at the set it's Feroze's fault. Even people are blaming Feroze equally for Sana's behaviour aswell. Seems like he's the villain of everyones story. Bhai petrol mehanga bhi Feroze ne hi kiya hai 🤣 these days people are very quick to pass their judgments they don't even know the other person & still making statements on basis of their own judgements. Stop judging the actor by the characters he plays, doesn't make him a negative person. LET PEOPLE BREATH!

Right. They never discuss about feroze's acting. Doing this type of charecter needs a lot of energy because he always needs to shout, needs to gym in the drama because of his character. They never mention about his hardwork.

@A Yes you are right, his frustration at the industry was justified but he should've refrained from stating half truths, that he had his worst experience while shooting for AMEK if he wasn't brave enough to call out the names, resulting in chaotic assumptions by people blaming whoever they want to & that is very unfair to them. And I really wish that Daniyal achieves everything he deserves!
@mayavids2 жыл бұрын
@@LoveYourself..... I've also noticed the same thing that they don't appreciate him as much as they should, even his acting in that "Kalma scene" was applauded by all the critics but they didn't have a single word to praise his performance particularly in that scene. But I can understand them as most of their viewers are Anti-Feroze but that isn't fair to him!

Badshah Begum is slow and fast at the same time. The assassination attempt scene needed more passion and some blood. Not showing blood took away a lot from the scene.Enjoyed the rest of the episode. The younger BB actress did a very good job.Murad's interaction with the maid was appropriately creepy.I am looking forward to the sibling rivalry more than anything.

They are showing Mehru's character as a mother not very strong. When her daughter came after so many days, she just said, aao khaana khaao then she went for a coffee with Mahir. She should have shown trying to hug her, try to engage, show she cares ... Similarly she should have not given Hidayat Ullah office to Mahir, she should have said Affan that is your place...Mahir is a care taker till you are ready to take over the business. The children have lost their father too...she seems torturing her children. Not a good balance!!! Director Sahab???

There is individual therapy, then family therapy sessions, and group therapies. Is there a way for us to go into therapy as a nation? We seem to be suffering from extreme sado-masochism. Seeing others in torture and torturing ourselves and basking in misery seems to be the national pass time. At least that's what 80 percent of our dramas convey. Aye Musht-e-Khak, Amanat, Badzaat are some prime examples of that. Instead of making the viewer light hearted and fulfilled by some great and constructive storytelling with timely resolutions, these dramas leave us emotionally confused and frustrated. The more bizarre and irrational an episode the higher the trending numbers. I am telling you someone, somewhere needs to come study our behavior....

For badzaat I would like to point out that in islam one can't force a person to marry against there will. For the parents to force their children is a huge sin and the marriage is void. Also one can't swear on anything other than Allah and Quran not even mother's life ( that is also a huge sin and meaningless). If your parents force you to marry against your will they are zalim ( not giving you your rights) baddua of such people doesn't even reach Allah. Let alone be fulfilled. It's also not allowed to blackmail your child with the threat of your life. What they are showing is extremely problematic as it normalizes wrong "Islamic" values. I know it happens but at least show that this is wrong. At many points the leads could have stood up for what is right. Biya could have slapped daniyal and not be a nani Pari, she could have told the truth without the Quran, her respect was fully intact and unharmed, she could have chose not to marry anyone let alone daniyal, daniyal could have gotten another punishment, marriage is not a punishment, wali could have married against his mother will ( yes it's allowed in islam) "log Kya kahen ge" people should not care. It's Allah we are here to please not people.

Dobara: I think we should not forget the fact that in this era, someone in early 20’s would never marry a woman in her 40’s. Why would someone do it? Have you thought? I don’t see any sincerity at all. Even Mehru wasn’t at the start of wedding but due to recent events she now believes in Mahir. The only question is if Mahir would become sincere with Mehru? I thought when Mehru would get Jahangir sb treated it would change Mahir but this doesn’t look like it. What would win a 22 year old’s heart? Or what could a 40 year old woman do??? Money seems the only reason for now in Mahir’s mind.
