He could have just kicked out before 3 and then slowly made a comeback. The fact that he just stood up, really killed the kayfabe. And also unnecessarily humiliated hhh. I remember early undertaker used to go over all the time and he also barely sold any offense from heels. But it was always in service of building his character never to hurt the opponent. Everyone came out of a taker feud better off no matter how many losses they took. Warrior hurt other characters

I'm willing to bet most Warrior fans loved Warriors return and squash win. We wanted to see Warrior do his thing and he did.. The only thing I would have changed was have Hunter make the pin attempt after the pedigree and have Warrior kick out instead of immediately getting up. But it's not like Hogan hasn't done things like that. I remember Hogan getting up right after a Savage elbow drop or a Vader Bomb. He has no sold many other finishers.

I still believe HBK should of Won the World Championship at WrestleMania 11 vs Diesel but yes the Boyhood dream story was grest & winning the Rumble back 2 back was great but it was murder having HBK coming down to the Ring every match & in interviews with a 60 year old guy it killed his whole look. It should of been just at WrestleMania & than what Sid did to take him out they should have had Diesel Ke in Nash at the next PPV which was a great match & shows you if WWF had signed Hall & Nash & Bret Hart didn't quit for Shawn Michaels entire title run cuz he wanted to see HBK fail period & HBK had guys to work with 1996 WWF would have done great Numbers. Funny how Bret Hart came back at Survivor Series the night HBK drops the title see what these nerds 🤓 who like to believe all the 💩 that comes out of Bret's mouth you don't get that HBK had No undercard to help him which is huge cuz everyone left. Bret as Champion had everyone from Hulk Hogan to Ric Flair, Mr Perfect, Yoko in his prime Macho Man HBK as IC Champ with Diesel,Razor, Lex Luger, LOD, Nasty Boys, Million dollar Man, Undertaker you want me to go on dude Bret Hart didn't Draw these guys did. When HBK Shawn Michaels finally got the belt Hall & Nash we're leaving right after Macho Man just left a year & a half ago right after Hulk Hogan & Ric Flair & right to that time Month's earlier Lex Luger left showed up on WCW Nitro live & Piper is gonna leave in a few months but Bret still doesn't come back. Stone Cold was just a opening match guy working up to mid card he was over a year plus from Winning the IC Title & the Rock was a bust debuted the night HBK dropped the title & none of these guys were anyone. The only guy that HBK had that was of name was Undertaker & they could never touch but he had him & Taker had nobody to work with. Agree. And this was H before he became Triple H, the Game, and was with Chyna and all that. This was back when he was the blue blood Hunter Hearst Helmsley, and sure he faced Undertaker, and Bret Hart. But his biggest match he had was Hog Pen match with Godwinn. So being trusted to face a returning legend, win or lose, is a big deal and at WM12 no less. It also wasn't really a squash match, just given how little offence Warrior got in at first. He only really started to hammer H after the pedigree, and finished him fast. But still, who hits a finisher that soon and even if it wasn't a retuning legend. Its like do people really think that if that was Hogan, Undertaker, and Sid to name a few that they wouldn't also jump up.

Ultimate Warrior "squashed" Triple H at Wrestlemania 12, but Triple H "buried" UW in the Self-Destruction dvd. So, everything balanced out. 18 years later, Triple H (a WWE executive) was asking Warrior to return to the WWE as a brand ambassador, and asking Vince McMahon to induct Warrior in the Hall of Fame. Shortly after UW's Hall of Fame speech and final RAW appearance, he collapsed from a heart attack in a parking lot in Arizona. The next day, Triple H lamented Warrior's death on several podcasts, mentioning how "fortunate" it was, that he hadn't waited any longer to bring Warrior back to the WWE. So, do we need to keep revisiting Triple H getting "squashed" by the Warrior at Wrestlemania 12? Triple H clearly put Wrestlemania 12 behind him, and he's supposedly the person who should be the "most pissed off" about it.

All of these complaints about the way this match played out are pretty silly. The crowd loved it. That match was all about Ultimate Warrior's return, and that's the only reason 99% of the people were interested in watching it. To pretend that fan gave a damn about Hunter Hurst Helmsley at that time, and whether or not it was going to be a 5 star match, is again, silly. The people who wanted something like that can go "enjoy" the WM18 "main event" (term used loosely), HHH vs Chris Jericho. The crowd was completely dead for that one, despite it being everything that UW vs HHH wasn't.

This match was a delight for Warrior fans, and HHH should've shook his hand and said "thank you" for the opportunity to share the ring with a legend. I do agree with some of the things Prichard has said about Warrior in other vids, and disagree with others and this is one of them. I didn't see it as a squash match, just given how it started with H giving it to Warrior good before hitting the pedigree. Warrior only started after that and finished him quick. But the whole being upset that Warrior no sold the finish, while who hits a finish that soon and on a returning legend. Its like thinking if it was Hogan, Sid, and the Undertaker to name a few wouldn't have done the same thing. I again I don't think it hurt H at all, specially back then. I mean this wasn't Triple H, the Game, and was with Chyna and all that. This was back when he was the blue blood Hunter Hearst Helmsley, and sure he faced Undertaker, and Bret Hart before this. But his biggest match before Warrior was a Hog Pen match with Godwinn, where it ended with his face down in pie shit. So to go from that Hog Pen match to being trusted to face a returning legend, win or lose, is a big deal and at WM12 no less. Warrior even said once that it was done to make an impact for the return of the Ultimate Warrior character. It was never done to be malicious or hurt H in anyway or to say he isn't any kind of talent. As for H being a man about it, and just did the job. Well according to Warrior, before hand he told H what he wanted to do and H was ok. But then he came back with Jerry Briscoe, and had Briscoe tell Warrior about all these ideas H had. But Warrior being an old school kinda guy wanted to hear it straight from H, and not pulling this through someone else stuff. So he pretty much said if you ever have anything you need to discus with me, then you need to come to me one-on-one and man-to-man. People sometimes forget that H wasn't always the good guy he has been for the last decade or so. That back then he was a different guy, and even got worse through the late 90s to the early 00s. But his changed so much, and is all about helping the new talent while showing love to the older ones. Hell, it was H that got Warrior into the Hall of Fame. RIP Warrior

Cuz if they left HBK alone & he was the cocky cool "HBK" of 1995 even when he turned Baby at first he still was 🆒 but HBK character is a heel & Shawn Michaels is one of the Greatest Heels ever in the Ring & on the 🎤 & he don't need nobody like the Rock writing his lines for him even to the point of writing his Promo on his hands & wrists. People except those who know wrestling deeper & not these morons who don't look at the whole picture. Well enjoy your hat read many learned a wrestling history lesson & Google talk it took me 2 minutes to speak this & however long for you to read it.

It was too much but had it been 4 or 5 minutes then it would’ve made more sense. People don’t always want a 15 minute match with a guy who gimmick wise goes through people to get over. Looking at you AEW.

Honestly, it's not like HHH's career got buried because of Warrior's no-sell. In fact if anything, HHH has buried far more careers than Warrior ever did. Bottom line. And I say this as someone who doesn't really hate HHH but the facts don't lie. Just look at the Reign of Terror

I always have a hard time buying the HHH buried everybody narrative. Sure he politicked for himself like every major star did but the dude has the most WM losses of all time. During the Reign of Terror years (2002-05) he put over: Shawn, Goldberg, Benoit, and Batista. The Evolution storyline built Orton and Batista. When he came back he put over Flair. Put over Cena. Etc. He lost a lot more than people ever recognize.

Everyone in the comments saying this was no big deal: you basically have no right to complain about anybody else politicking to get ahead and ruin a match ever again. This was horrible, and it was inconsiderate and childish. I have no idea why anyone would defend this stupid ego trip of a match.

It was one of the most well remembered names in the industry coming back to fight a mid-carder at Wrestlemania and said well remembered name was never known to be a great wrestler. What on earth would you actually have expected from this match to make it better?

VERY unprofessional on the part of Warrior. Wasnt he concerned about HHH's career at all? What if he was cut shortly after?

Oh whatever. HHH did FAR MORE damage to his own career with the Curtain Call, which was less than 2 months later. HHH ended up screwing himself out of the King of the Ring victory as well as being beaten by every opponent for the next year.
