Yep, that happened to me after a staff "Christmas" party some 13 years ago. Some douche who was drunk off his ass came after me, grabbed my shirt and ripped it. I protested at first but then I dropped him with a right to his cheekbone, which I smashed. I was going to finish him off but his dad and brothers/friends rushed me to a fence, had my arms. Then my friends rushed in, so I'm taking all the weight of these fuckers. A few of them dragged the friends off me, so it was just me and this guys dad. I've got a grip on him so he can't hit me but his fucking pussy kid picks himself up off the floor and sucker punches me in the nose! Little shit. The police showed up before I could get hold of him again. Ended up being like a 30 person brawl (women going at it too, as well as the guys). Anyway, random story for ya...

The real reason that Goldberg didn't want to face Jericho in WCW was because Jericho would make Goldberg stupid in the ring. Jericho has great in ring talent & Goldberg knew about 2 or 3 moves. Only Kevin Nash knew less moves & was worse in the ring. Bischoff created a monster with the push he gave Goldberg right off the bat like he did. Goldberg actually believed that he was a good wrestler.
@TRivera13
@TRivera13 5 жыл бұрын
Goldberg actually showed more moves in his arsenal when The Streak first began. As his rise ascended and his matches got shorter, his moveset became limited. But that's neither here nor there. Bottom line is Goldberg had a great look and in his prime was very athletic. That's someone you can build around if he has the right mindset. A guy like that you put in the ring with better, more experienced wrestlers and he comes out looking good. The company makes money and in turn the wrestlers make money too.

The funny thing is that, at least as far as WCW goes, you know that Jericho's version of events was correct. Because Jericho had their feud in WCW over, single handedly by his heel work and promos, and absolutely on fire. Fans were begging for it. And then the blow off, or lack thereof, and subsequent squashing of that feud, is evidence of that.

@@toogifted6491 Yes for the talent it would be crazy at least in the short term, but forcing someone to work their way into a spot makes more long term sense for both the longevity of the worker and even their versatility in the company. People actually calling the shots, should be more future oriented, because it is hard to create and maintain star power. There are literally no guys who got major pushes when they were as green as Goldberg who I can even think of off the top of my head, that had much longevity in their careers at or near the top. It just doesn't happen. Bill Goldberg probably never could have had 20 years in the business in him given his age, but a little more seasoning would have certainly helped to prevent some of the major deflation he had after the WCW streak was over if the company had a real plan for the future. Without the allure of the streak, Goldberg was kind of plain and boring, and he certainly was not going to wow anyone with either his mic skills or his wrestling. He was already petering out in WCW before he even set a lackluster foot in a WWE ring. He really needed more constructive time to develop to be a legitimate star in wrestling, certainly post WCW.

I believe this story cuz bill Goldberg cake to my Thai boxing gym for a few months. He had really bad technique. He never stopped telling these outlandish stories about how in wrestling they had him break bullet proof glass and how he had these real fights with other pro wrestlers. But in the gym he had a million reasons why he couldn’t spar and every time someone tried to help him with his technique he had a rebuttal, excuse or some bullshit. The one Thai guy in there thought he was hilarious and called him “fake fighter” cuz he did wrestling. At first everyone was excited we had a celebrity with in a month everyone hated him and avoided him like the plague.

The more I listen to this story the more it reminds me of a little brawl I had when I was a kid. When I was 15 my sister was 18 and her douchbag boyfriend was also 18. Just like all other brothers & sisters, we argued all the time when we were younger and she would always run to her boyfriend and he would start running his mouth and make threats. One night I was talking to my girlfriend on the phone and out of nowhere my sister started yelling at me to hang up and when I told her to fuck off, she started yelling shit about my girl. Unbeknownst to me the whole time, her boyfriend was at our house and she didn't even need the phone but instead was trying to make me mad so her big bad boyfriend could intervene and kick my ass. I was in my room and they were in a different room shoo I didn't actually see them and while was I sitting on my bed looking down at the floor trying to explain to my girlfriend that my sister was a stupid idiot when all of a sudden her boyfriend ran my room and SLAPPED me on the side of my head. I jumped up a pushed him back and when he lunged forward to tackle me I put him in a front headlock just like Y2J did to Goldfish. My sister was watching because she wanted to see me get my ass kicked and when she saw that I was chocking her boyfriend, she ran to our mom because I wasn't going to let go until he passed out. The fucked up part was my sister told her I started the whole thing and my mom almost called the cops on me but she quickly realized it was them who started it because why else would they be in my room. I finally let go and boyfriend ran away like a sissy knowing he just got his ass kicked by a kid so we decided not to call the cops on him for hitting a minor. He never messed with me again and I should mention I was captain of the wrestling team at the time but he was still a tad bigger than me. The craziest thing was years later they got married and my sister found out he was having an affair so she slapped him in the face one time and he called the cops on her and pressed charges. She got arrested and ended up doing 6 months probation but that proves her boyfriend really is a fucking pussy.

It's no coincidence that Jericho's best matches came against guys like Mysterio and Shawn who could make anyone look good. The match with HHH was his best work in 2000 and HHH was responsible for that because he was knocking everything out of the park then. He could only have good matches with Rock in late 2001, early 2002 and stunk up the joint whenever he worked with anyone else. He's his own biggest fan. And he constantly talked shit about Goldberg not wanting to work with his lower card ass on his day off back when he was a nobody in WCW. This whole saga started because of Jericho being a bitter asshole and being played for a fool by Kevin Nash.

Goldberg was fun to watch and exciting as an experience kind of thing. Great look. Great size. Etc. However, as a professional wrestler, he isn't .0001 of what Chris Jericho is. Jericho is pretty close to Flair level. He was the best thing about WCW at the time.

Yea, I don't buy that story. It seems only one person confirms it and that is Chris Jericho, everyone else was mysteriously not around. I just kind of doubt that Jericho would be able to take on a monster like Goldberg. And I'm not going on his wrestling persona only. The man is strong as shit and was a defensive tackle, so he could take a hit and give one. He also did powerlifting and MMA training. My guess is Jericho just luckily got a hold on him and held on for dear life until it was broken up.

Which actually sounds exactly like what he discribed, used the only legit wrestling hold he knew and was shocked it worked. As a guy who wrestled from age 7 to 24 their is a reason actual competitors don't have Goldberg like bodybuilding muscles they gas fast. Good for powerful bursts like in football not so much for wrestling when you have to be able to maintain pressure constantly you very rarely see a guy like Lesnar do well in wrestling because they tend to be a glass canon which normally fails before they make it to the national championship level. Not a nock on Lesnar either like I said he is rare because he did get 2 titles he also lost 2 to a guy who looked to be on a twinkie carbo loading diet. Or just look at his UFC bout with Velasquez Brock makes Cain look like he showed up the wrong weight class but he got out wreslted cause those big muscles glass canon he shot and Cain didn't fold and that is the advantage Brock relies on the " I fucked you up so fast that if he didn't already knock you out you would wish he had after he has squashed you in the crossbody position for 2-3 minutes"

I always think to myself "these guys are talking about golddust like he's a main eventer" and that's when I usually catch myself... it happened here again, and I caught it after they mentioned him being in wcw, I was like hm I don't remember golddust in the wcw, and then I realized they're talking about goldberg hahaha honest mistake right? @@mikeg155 actual grappling is fair in a fight makes no sense to handicap yourself because someone else wants to pretend like a actual fight is supposed to look like a Marquess of Queensberry boxing match. I laughed at this because in M.S. and H.S. I would get in a fight at least once a year because my older brother who was 6'1" with a beard by 9th grade would regularly pick fights with other guys on the football team, our dad made us wrestle and do silver gloves so my brother would pretty much beat the breaks off a guy lightem up with the hands and then they would look to jump his 5'6"ish-5'11" depending on the year little brother for revenge and everytime it pretty much went down the same way. They puff up and I'm not backing down cause the ass kicking my dad would put on me for publicly running from another guy was way scarier than a few bumps cuts and blood from having to wreslte a football player down they always would just try and tackle you into the wall and pin you there and try to dirty box. I got in trouble one time cause the guy got banged up really bad but it was literlly all him he would try and tackle me and I would just misdirect him with a collar tie and bang into the wall happend.
