@RobwLPOC3 жыл бұрын
This is such a different story though, the story out there was he showed up because he had no contract and basically blackmailed Vince McMahon into giving him a ridiculous amount of money for one match to drop the belt to Chyna. Him showing up saying hey look I'm owed money for the last two pay per views I'm worried that you're going to stiff me I want the money for those two pay-per-views upfront and a reasonable amount to drop the belt. Asking for money he earned as opposed to blackmailing Vince for money he didn't is a way freaking different story than what was out there

I'm glad they cleared that up, HUGE difference between blackmailing somebody for a huge Payday for one match RATHER than telling them you want money that you've actually already earned before you leave and not wait for it. Although hold up would not apply with no contract really, that would be part of the negotiation in for the temporary contract of wrestling that night. Even if the original story was true and he asked for a ridiculous amount of money because he knew he had Vince by the falls, that still technically wouldn't be holding him up because he was negotiating a different contract he wasn't refusing to do something under the old as a grievance

From several sources I had heard that Jarrett contract had expired and he was going to WCW. He was scheduled to lose the belt to Chyna at a PPV. Vince had him sign a contract extension for the match he was owed money for several PPVs and house shows so he wanted to be paid for it and get a bonus for putting a woman over so he didn't look bad going to another company.

He didn't have to do the Chyna match or put her over... but he did. And that alone tells me everything about Jeff Jarrett, he was a professional and kept his end of the bargain. So what if he wanted a payout? He deserved it for even being willing to do any of that.
@RobwLPOC3 жыл бұрын
He did hold them up for money but it wasn't for the reason that is out there, "the story" that has gone around is Jeff showed up there knowing his contract expired and ask for a ridiculous amount of money to wrestle one match and drop the belt. Basically blackmailing Vince because he knew he had him by the balls. That's not actually what happened! Jeff DID hold them up, but he was holding them up and demanding to be paid for the last two(?) pay-per-views he worked and a reasonable amount for that night. Which is a totally different story than what Chyna in her book and the number of other people have said happened ( she probably wasn't lying she just didn't know the difference all she heard was he got a really big check that night and assumed it was for that match) Usually you have to wait for the money to trickle in from the cable and pay per view providers Etc. The guys didn't usually get their money from a pay-per-view till a few months later. He was worried since he was going to leave the company that they might either stiff him or take an absurd amount of time actually send that money to him. So yes he held them up, but it was money he actually earned and was owed he wasn't ripping off Vince for a ridiculous amount of money to do one match like he has been accused of and everybody figures he was blackballed for.

He was holding Vince up to get his pay-per-view money that you would normally wait for because he thought he would get stiffed and a reasonable payoff for that night. I definitely agree with the point you're making, asking for money he already earned as opposed to blackmailing Vince to give him a ridiculous amount of money he didn't earn to wrestle one match because he knew he had him by the balls is a very very different story His contract had expired so even if he was being a bit of a dick and asking for a ridiculous amount of money for one match it's still not like the warrior where you had a contract agreed to an amount and then screwed Vince at the last minute.
