I actually love the scene where Daniel slaps Louis so much - because they're both in the right at the same time. Daniel was definitely crossing a really hard line asking for those kinds of details, but he was absolutely right in that being a journalist and knowing Louis is an unreliable narrator he has to question everything he isn't shown. It calls the story into question, as awful as it is to say. And Louis was so right to guard his daughter's darkest moment. His outburst was completely understandable, but at the same time he was violating Daniel by reaching into him and messing with his Parkinson's. The slap was just as deserved. This show is so freaking good at giving us complicated, nuanced conflict.

“A boob!” 😂 When you yelled that, I laughed so hard! That was so cute. This episode breaks my heart, and the next two episodes are some of my favorites. Can’t wait to watch the rest of your reactions! 😊❤

Thank you, Ethan! 🧛♀ Such a sad-yet-relatable episode. So much greatness is around the corner.

Louisiana Universities were segregated in the South. Claudia found a way to slip into the libraries and study halls.

Yeah Louis and Lestat would’ve definitely benefited from a divorce and therapy, but alas…we wouldn’t get this toxic gothic romance if they did! Louis definitely has maternal feelings for Claudia! I think the line about “being Louis’ sister” was more referring to the hole in his family Louis was missing. And now that Claudia is, mentally, older it’s probably a little hard for her to constantly look at Louis as “Daddy Lou” and their dynamic would naturally shift to a more sibling role, but I don’t think the parental feelings will ever leave Louis. And like you said he was bitten by the baby bug 😭 they kinda predicted it in episode 2, after he almost attacked his baby nephew and he was crying with Lestat over “never being able to have a family of his own”. I think having a family was kind of key to Louis’ mental state. Lestat and him were falling apart but getting Claudia kept them together for a time. And when she ran away for 7 years, they immediately fell apart again until it all came to a head at the end of the episode. I also think Lestat probably DOES love Claudia as well and sees her as a daughter. Just less so than Louis, because Lestat is clearly threatened and jealous of their closeness. And we already know he’s got trauma going back to his own father so that probably impacts his ability to express affection or connect to her. The fight at the end is still so hard to watch. Domestic violence is always a tough thing to portray and I think a lot of people struggle to reconcile the Louis and Lestat here with where they began. It’s fucked up but it’s a result of Lestat being desperate for Louis to love him the way he loves Louis and Louis’s repressed emotions keeping him caught between his love for Lestat and his love for Claudia. So many bad choices that lead them to this point smh

The reason claudia couldn't create vampires probably because she was a child when she was turned just like her not being strong enough to protect herself from older vampires the show did a good job at showing the consequences of child vampire

The episode was awesome, but I gotta be honest, the fight scene comments were random and not making much sense. 😅 Your facial reactions were way more interesting. Please don't hate me 🙊🙉🙈
