I love your channel and pray Gina's surgery goes well. I look forward to your videos and also love that Gina has become a more integral part of them. I often show my husband things I have seen from you and especially the tools! I love them as much as he does. I often tell him how much your work ethic and attention to detail reminds me of his - and today your proved it. He is a manual machinist and has had metal slivers in his eyes many times. in 38 years, I don't know if I ever remember him staying home after having one removed. I can't wait for you to get moved onto the OGP and I know you are ready for it as well. I love the trails because they remind me of when I was little. I used to go to my grandfather's house every weekend and would walk in the woods on all of the trails (except during hunting season ;-) ). Thinking back on that always brings me such peace, and being out in creation is just such a gift from God. I'm sure it blesses y'all to no end. Many blessings to you and your family!

if you can afford it, i would put a separate heat exchange for that room. isolate all noise from that room but still move lots of air in there. a ceiling fan would also be good as inverters, batteries and freezers all do better with lots of airflow. ceiling fans are very efficient for that, and a heat exchange system regulates temp as they also need.

Yeah, we like tongue and groove too. Honestly we prefer it to sheet rock. In the long run it is probably cheaper than sheet rock and a lot less work. No mud, no waiting, no sanding and we don't even paint it. We just use a little Zinzer Shellac by Bullseye. We like the amber color. It comes out really beautiful and warm. I guess you could use polyurethane but Shellac is a natural product. All you have to worry about is the fumes from the denatured alcohol but compared to the solvents that are in all of the paint and polyurethane that is really clean.

WPC (Wood Polymer Composite). WPC is a composite blend mixture of Waste Wood, Agriculture waste, Cellulose waste and polymer as a binder with some functional additive. This is what Highway construction signs used to be made of. You can make your own sills to any size Gina would like. Cut, sand and paint just like wood. But it's waterproof. Love your channel.

The wood walls and ceiling look marvelous and I understand the dust proof reason for not using drywall. However, realize that this creates a high risk of fire getting out of hand if the inverters/batteries overheat and cause a fire. Put the outlets for the freezers at least 36 inches high. You can then plug in something like a boot dryer, vacuum, etc over the chest freezer door and it will make pulling out the upright freezer easier to vacuum behind and clear the vent.
@craigs52122 жыл бұрын
Looking good. Consider adding a temperature controlled exhaust fan in the power room. You have a fairly well insulated room, the freezers and the increased power load on the inverters as you move in and use more electricity will add a significant heat load to the room. You need to keep the batteries and inverters cool as possible. Currently your equipment is in one big ice chest with little ventilation.

hey y'all, not sure if I was the first to notice ; but with shiplap you always have to keep small gaps between the adjoining walls and ceiling for the expansion and movement of the wood, otherwise it might start to buckle...granted this room should be temp controlled and such... also a proper air circulator/ventilation with filtration since the inverters will be giving off quite a bit of heat...

Make sure to ventilate the power house room, you're going to have a lot of heat generating equipment/appliances in there. 3:46 Starlink is only consuming around 100W consistently, even at startup, from what I've read. For that reason, maybe you DO want to plug it in on the same circuit as the freezers because you're going to notice loss of Internet immediately if the freezer breaker trips. Of course, it all depends on how much current the freezers are drawing to know if it will all fit.
