Available in the big box. Just put the switch in the cab of the Mule and run one end back to the negative cable on the seeder and the other end to the battery negative. Instant on off of the crudest kind for the seeder. Love the videos!

How about calling that trail ‘The Spruce Moose Trail’. I love the fact that you are planting a variety of grasses for wild animals to eat, very thoughtful, caring and considerate. Gina have faith in the doctors and their skills, you will take a little while to heal but it’s a great excuse to rest and recuperate gently. Totally agree with you Al. Logging is actual key to keeping a healthy woods as well opening up young growth for meadows and food plots for wildlife to grow along with opening up pasture land. Taking the old wood out so it doesn't just rot is really important to keep the woods healthy and prevent forest fires. Doing that while the wood has timber value is very very important. Standing dead wood is nothing but fuel for a lightening strike. Then the land is prone to wash out from the fire scar which washes the top soil away clogging up the ponds and streams with silt. Thank you for your stewardship of the land...it's important.

We actually have a herd of 7 white tail s that frequent our road very often even though we live in a small(18000) town .You have to be careful at night as they are not easy to see.. You can get quite close to them but we don't feed them ,they are quite used to people and cars they will wait till you pass before crossing roads. The only negative is they like flowers for dessert so we have learnt to plant deer resistant plants and shrubs. Best wishes to Gina on her upcoming surgery ,I know you'll come through with that lovely almost cheeky smile at times .God bless Gina

I would like to see a schematic map of the whole property with the trails, streams, pastures, and building sites sketched in and a "North Needle" so I can get a rough overall picture in mind. Wranglerstar did that with their old homestead and it was very helpful without giving away specific location or anything that would violate privacy.

Al all you need to do is run trailer wiring to the back of the vehicle and connect a quick disconnect for the spreader, then draw the power from the running lights. Put the lights on and you have power to the spreader, shut off the lights and the spreader shuts off.
@rupe532 жыл бұрын
bad idea to tie anything else into the lighting system. Light switches are not rated for motor loads and you'll be kicking yourself later when there's a problem. The engine is under the bed on these things so power from the starter cable is not far away. Fabricating a stand alone harness using store bought connectors would be a piece of cake for various accessories. Just throw the wire bundle in through the back door and put the controls between the front seats.

@@rupe53 I think it can handle a small motor just fine if it can handle all the lights in a trailer and if equipt. trailer brakes.
@rupe532 жыл бұрын
@@bruceaugustine6486 .... just a heads up, but there are listings in the owner's manual stating the load limitations for accessories, which are pretty light these days with LED lamps. Also... trailer brakes NEVER get connected to a lighting circuit. Matter of fact, I doubt that vehicle is rated to tow a trailer large enough to need brakes. I have one of these in a two passenger version and I believe the gross weight for a trailer is limited to under 1000 pounds. BTW, I don't believe you can buy a 1000 pound trailer with a brake package. The right way to do this is to run a dedicated (and fused) circuit from the battery with its own switch.
@bruceaugustine64862 жыл бұрын
@@rupe53 i see these with 12" light bars on them wired into the headlight switches with no problems, and he would be using the spreader for a couple of hours then taking it off. It was just a thought.

@@bruceaugustine6486 ... you can follow your own rules if you like, but you get to pay the price if it goes downhill. I did fleet work and emergency vehicle wiring for the fire department. Great idea to seed the trails. Maybe try to propagate the berry bushes further around the trails so the wildlife have less conflict over them? Hey Al, I may have missed it but wondering what ever became of the beaver pelts harvested from this wonderful property?
@StoneKathryn2 жыл бұрын
I bet they are still in the freezer at Al's current homestead. Maybe they'll get moved up and he'll decide to work on them.

Awesome trail system, Lumnah Family! Thanks for taking us along for a look-see and to catch glimpses of your wildlife - the moose, deer and bears! I do worry about Figaro and Pluto when you finally make the move, as they both may roam a bit from the Harvest House. Nice job with the planking on the log bridges - it may last longer than you think! (hoping, anyway!) It's wonderful to see the streams and waterways on your property, especially since you got the rain. (Even though this video is from a week ago - or so, still it's great to see) When you get a chance, please spray off the poor Mule. It needs some tender loving care in ways of a rinse of the vehicle and it's tracks - we want to SEE those Camso Tracks a bit better. Yes, it does show that you use and enjoy your stuff, but "cleanliness is next to godliness" and all! Thanks again for your episodes - they are a lot of fun. We know it takes a lot of effort to make them and we appreciate it! Have a great weekend! Warm regards to all my fellow Lumnahs!

Warm regards and Blessings to you also, Sam. I was thinking the same thing about spraying off the mud. It would be easier when it is wet.

Good morning Lumnah Acres, what a beautiful video, I had no idea that Moose were so large! I have seen pictures but always thought they were horse size! How wrong was I? Anyway all the best Gina for a speedy recovery as I'm sure you are around that point with the video offset.

You could wire in the ground or hot wire, battery, switch to spreader for convenience. Things are starting to look alot like a home.

Moose Alley, Maple St and Rocks Landing because as soon as you say them you know it's exact location. I think a Picnic table and a camp spot should be cleared out where you could build small (lol) cabins. So much potential for so many projects.

Thank you for the outing and I could also experience the wild life on your land. It is beautiful. I use to work for forestry, but administration side of things. I used to live on forest station too. Now I miss it because I live in a housing complex that is also very nice, but nothing like the forest.🥰

My step-Mum used to work for the forest service and manned an observation tower in Montana - to keep an eye on any lightning strikes and report any fires. She told us once a big thunderstorm came up and there was lightning striking all around - she was told to sit on a special glass-insulated spot in the center of the tower which would provide her with maximum safety. She's still here to talk about it, so that system must work... but that must have been scary!

For the trails do signs like at the national parks bit a smaller scale.
@StoneKathryn2 жыл бұрын
I was thinking that too but then someone might think it was national land like a park and trespass on it. I do like the signs in the national parks.

Hi Al and Gina Continued prayers for Gina. Thanks for taking us on your trail run . The seeding should make the trails look nice. Surprising how a few boards made those bridges look so much better. Looking forward to seeing your vision for the property continue to develop. It's been a joy just watching what you've done so far . As always wishing you the best in all you do Stay safe
