For the longest time I didn't realize that the website names the opening moves at the top, so I always assumed that when NL would say "Our opponent is going with the Leonardo Bernacci Defense, accelerated second Sicilian variation" I thought he was making stuff up and honestly it was like 100% funnier to me. 2 minutes in and NL has manufactured a series of blunders kickstarted by missing the most intuitive bishop block on the skewer, leading him to believe his queen was lost. A true agent of chaos
@gamelandmaster36802 жыл бұрын
It wasn't even a skewer because the skewer doesn't work. I still think white is better with Bf5 but it doesn't lead to the loss of a queen for nothing in return.

Not trying to backseat the content too much, but how come NL doesnt play 3 | 2 time control? In 3 | 2 you can actually crawl back. Could be incredibly entertaining and lead to some gourded pogs

He's addressed this in the past, with the justification that "good players play on interval, and I only want to play against bad players." I don't know how accurate this is overall, but I'm a very bad player who plays on interval, so that does count against his contention

It's so crazy being 300 rating worse than Ryab but when I'm watching him I see better moves than him, yet when I play myself, I am significantly worse. I guess that's the beauty of playing and jumping in and out of paying close attention to the play without any of the pressure of actually playing. I also mean no disrespect, I'm aware it's much harder to play while trying to be entertaining.
