Hey! You're likely on the Legacy version of the game! Right click on the game in Steam, go to properties, then to the betas tab. There you'll find several options, choose Evrima! Legacy is due to be replaced by the updated version of the game(evrima) but hasn't yet due to a few things the devs want to finish before the big swap.

Play on a semi-realism server, there you can trust pachys cause herbivores are not allowed to attack other herbivores. And you are also not allowed to attack carnivores on sight as a herbivore.

@dinometta They don't have to attack you first. A 3-call or something posing a threat is enough (stalking etc.). But it prevents carnis from getting jumped by a pack of 5 or 6 bored Tentos. There are also rules for mixpacking, size of a group, scavangers and much more like Body Down. Makes the game way way less toxic.

Also really hoping at some stage they implement a system to discourage mix-packing, it’s atrocious dying to people in an unfair fight when it takes multiple hours to grow something. Somebody suggested parasites that spread between species in the discord which I think would be nifty.

I like the new vision, it's nice to actually be able to see xD That said, I do feel that a lot of the old horror from legacy is lost in evrima. I've said before that illness should spread heavily among mixpacks if people spend more than 30 minutes in close proximity to each other as different species. It would have to be a decently long time to prevent hunting parties from getting sick simply by being in a long fight

As a fellow pachy player, it's a shame that some pachys attack everything that has a pulse even other herbis, becouse of those players pachy has gotten a bad reputation being labeled as hiperagresive which is the case only for small % of pachy players that give the rest bad reputation.

Not sure how I feel about new diet... like the concept, just don't like how little bang for your buck you get unless you puke to diet max. Right now the amount of diet you get vs how much you eat is pretty broken in my opinion. Even while trying to diet max by puking, my diet was draining so fast and food filling so fast that I struggled to even keep each at 33%. Do I have a bug or is this something you've noticed as well?

It can be a bit difficult, yes. Until gastroliths are added, vomiting to maximize your diets is the best option. I've started picking fights with ceratos simply to convince them to make me vomit so that I can then run away and get better diet. Otherwise, while growing, I pick one AI as carnivore and eat that exclusively until my stomach drain slows down, then I start getting others. On herbivore it's harder to overeat to vomit, but the forest bushes help

I grow in that spot with the pond where you ran into the pachys and small cera all the time. It's where I spend most of my juvie time since AI spawns all over, and the pond never has a croc in it. The only times I’ve been kos on the official servers have been by hyper aggressive teno players that chased me down (one time while I was a teno) granted I’m sure there’s plenty of stego/dibble that would do the same but it’s easier to out run them so hard to know if they were just being aggressively defensive or just trying to kill everything. Playing galli with a random teno herd who decided two small dibbles were a threat and killed them once after pretending to be friendly

This game’s always looked pretty fun to me but I’ve never played it. I’ve never been able to determine if it was worth playing. Do you think it’s worth a try knowing absolutely nothing about the game? Complete newbie style lol

@@squishyparrotlets Right now? I'd say it's incredibly rough getting started as a newbie. Doable of course, but may be frustrating. Personally, I'd recommend waiting until the UI update goes live as that is supposed to add a lot more tutorial-like information to get people started

Am I the only one that kinda hates the saltwater mutation honestly? Almost everyone uses it, it doesn’t really feel right imo because… drinking saltwater, and also it was leaked immediately as it was released basically and was intended to be one of the secret mutations. It also makes water wayyy too easy to come by imo and takes away the whole fear factor in drinking normal water with deinos. Maybe its a hottake but Idk I just get annoyed when I see every other player using it lol.

@@royce101st queue times are fairly long unfortunately, depending on what time of day you play. If you're EU, there's several decent unofficial servers as well as the officials. But I know that some areas just don't have good options for servers.

The thing about raptors... I dont see it as a bad thing, in fact raptors used to be pretty trash on this game, a solo tenonto could kill an entire pack of like 5 raptors in a good position, i like that raptors now represent a bit more the big prey predators they alway should be, like wolves nowadays does, tiring their preys and bleeding them, i see that pretty accurate and i shall try a raptor pack, seems pretty cool now

I'm okay with bucking being a strong stamina drain. The problem here was that I had already released E before I jumped. And after jumping my teno started bucking wildly and wouldn't stop. Basically the buck button wasn't responding at all, and when it finally did, I didn't have a way to stop it so it drained my entire bar of stamina which is super not great on teno, who relies on stamina to be able to attack

@@StanislausJGaming because pronounced correctly it sounds the same as a slur often used to insult Pakistani people. And while people know what we're talking about, it can still be really jarring for those who live in an area(usually the UK) that hear it used as a slur
