I think due to the narrator’s accent it sounds like they said bitten, but I think they might mean beaten.

Teacher and coach here. You are weak at your job if you rely on fear and abuse to maintain „focus“. That is external motivation rather than the longer lasting, more meaningful internal motivation a student can carry throughout their life. His own son can separate his identity from his father, so sorry.

Most korean players especially younger ones are raised and educated by like that to be a professional players. KOREANS People think it is okay to be like that.As a korean I DO personally think it is abuse mentally and physically. Is this also allowed in England?

@@Forwarding-n8x no honey, it's just you guys on this one. From the western perspective this is child abuse on all counts. How is it normal to beat a child and leave him bruised? It's disgusting to me. I hope Sonny can be brave enough to separate himself from his father if needed. Did this guy also beat him too as a child? If so, unforgivable.

@@juliakuri135 The most severe problem is that crazy Koreans are denying the child abuse cuz they consider Sonny as a god. Successful people in Korea often treated as absolute ones like Sonny and it is a serious social problem. Especially for bommers... They just think students have to endure the abuse if they want to be a famous soccer player like Sonny, justifying the abuse. Awful. In addition, this phenomenon is repeated all the time. For politicians, famous stars, and popular players... on and on.

Due to the "myth" of Son's -although there is distortion- what the father Son did to the kids is just clearly ignored and indiscriminally protected by their fanatics. Super crazy.

If you need to be " beaten" to get someone to toughen up in sports, then there is something fundamentally wrong in your thinking. Yeah, push them to their limit but getting a beating during any training is not the answer. Home discipline is something else. There are too many parents who go too far when disciplining their kids at home. There is a difference between proper discipline and taking out your anger and frustration on the child. Teachers definitely should not be beating kids at all. Discipline yes, but not hitting. Side note: why are the parents asking for money?

I can tell by the comments here most people commenting haven't played team sports growing up. I played football (American football) growing up in the US and what this kid got was nothing compared to some of things I went thorough.

I'm sorry you went through that. Just because it happened when you were growing up doesn't mean that it was normal or that it should also happen to others. For example it was normal for people (including children) to do unpaid labour in workhouses from the 1300s until they were shut down in the mid 20th century. Should we have kept them open just because they always used to be open?

It's football game what do you expect the coach will train your child of course to be tough and wise ... Don't put your child in a sports that involve physical interactions if you don't like your child to get hurt. This dad is only up to money for sure!

yelling is okay but physical abuse isnt okay. sport training is brutal if you cant take your coach yelling at you, leave the sport, its not you. you think if we had soft coaches we'd have so many great players in various sports? with each generation, kids are getting too sensitive.

This is just a money grab attempt by the kid's dad. He is using his kids to extort money from Son's family. Son's father's attorney released a recorded conversation of the kids' father who kept saying he wanted large sums of money. If he doesn't get it, he threatened to let the media know about the incident. He kept mentioning how much Son made so he wanted large sum. If the parent really cared about the kid, the last thing the father should be worried about id getting a large sum of money.

Children and parents who have attended the academy for a long time are cheering him on. However, his victim only went there for a month. And listen to what the kid's parents say about money (Koreans hear that and think they're almost gangsters). This makes a lot of sense.

If he's known for being strict and you don't want that for your child. DON'T SEND THEM THERE.. also. Alot if parents beat their kids. It's not always abusive. Beating can be punitive.

Son is a result of his fathers training. Those soft kids will never reach the same level if they can’t take it. 😂 this is also training the mentality if they can’t take a coach screaming at them what about 50,000 fans swearing and booing you.

@@Super_Chamchi who the hell gives a fuck about america most of your sports are irrelevant on a global scale and your athletes don’t experience half of the abuse from fans that footballers do. Also those parents sent their kids to his dad because they want the same success for their kids as son has. If so they have to put up with the same methods or go find another academy for their poor little snowflake.
