Something I've noticed every time when I've watched this is the way the one mom, the wife of the preacher, sees the father go to smack their son and flinches in the background, how when they're eating she is sadly looking at the chair her son used to sit at for meals. When the boys see each other in church the preacher's wife even looks like she gives her son a small nod. And then the other mother, who was angry with her son and everything (smashes the plate in anger), still physically places herself between her husband and the son, pushing the father away from him. It just strikes me that these women still love their sons even when religion and the men in their lives (who are clearly shown to abuse their sons for being gay) say that's wrong.
@RaspBerryPies6 жыл бұрын
But do they *really* love their children if they let their husbands treat them that way? Also kicking your children out and screaming at them doesn't seem like something someone who loves their kid would do.

Supposed christians are the first to use violence and hate. They don't realize that they are devil worshippers. The devil is power... The supposed christians feel power of the lord... God is compassion, humble, humility, weak. They even say that God destroyed sodom and gamora.... The devil destroyed sodom and gamora. God wouldn't have murdered them.. for god so loved the world that he begot his only son so that the world may be saved... All through the Bible is contradictory stories and passages. The Bible was not written by the hand of God in any way shape or form.
@ramsa01Yt5 жыл бұрын
THE_NATE_PROJECT Feminist narative is taking over the art, including short films. Fathers do love their sons, actually their sons is the reason they live. So when crisis strike, father and son must have an honest conversation and decide how they continue with their relationship. Usually father has no a way out like in this case: a priest, who condemns homosexuals in the name of bible, can not another day say, “you know, I think I was wrong, so the homosexuality is ok”. The son must understand this and they have to agree what they can do about it. This is a logical plan. Father may still be angry, but deep down he understands that children must go their own path in life and he can not force his son to love him if he abuses his son. So feminists show, that men are toxic and must be taken out of their childrens life. This is how feminists try to brainwash you, so that you take it for granted, that only a woman can love her son. Nonsence! Lie! This scenario is evil and satanic. Men are logical beings. They are not evil and they can be persuaded with reason. Feminist agenda want you to believe otherwise. Think by yourself, not by the narrative pushed on you.

Andre, God created humans. "26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." 27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.…" Ok, that's sorted now. He gave us free will. Another thing sorted. He gave us 10 commandments. Check. Not a single commandment, not a one, said that homosexuality is a sin!!! The later additions come from history of Judaism. And to top that up with Jesus' words: "34 A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so also you must love one another. 35 By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another." Another commandment that doesn't judge but encourages people to accept and love each other. Many read the Bible like a Devil, picking the pieces that fit into their own little mind and at the same time they miss the whole message: LOVE. That's it. Simple.

I was raised as a Christian since I was born, and was unsurprisingly brought up to believe that being gay is an enormous sin. I've just recently started to accept that I'm gay and stop beating myself up over it, but that still left me wondering if God would be ok with such a thing. I've been torn on the subject for a while, and that article really helped me to understand the topic a bit more. @CaptainLegend6 жыл бұрын
My parents are extremely homophobic (never going as far as protesting a pride rally or anything, but they're still very close-minded). I was raised a Christian (and still am), and was anti-gay myself. I never picked on someone for being gay, in fact I have a gay friend at school (I live in a very small, conservative town, he's the only gay kid in our school (besides me but no one knows that yet)). I always had the mentality of 'hate the sin, love the sinner', because treating someone like dirt isn't right in any situation. However, recently I've decided to accept the feelings I've been hiding for years and I even have some Biblical evidence to support my new beliefs (evidence written by actual pastors, not me). The only thing I'm scared of now is telling anyone. Like I said, I live in a small, conservative town, so telling people will most likely mean rejection from them, or word managing to spread to my parents, who I KNOW will never accept me, or may even kick me out of the house. To make a short story long, I feel you man! I'm in almost the exact same position! Stay strong, be who you are, and know that God and millions of people love you no matter who you love!

I looked up 1st Corinthians chapter 6 verses 9-10 and the verse does mention homosexuality as being a sin and preventing the the way to heaven but verse 11 talked about how your sins are washed away. So as a Christian in support of the LGBT community I say "Do not use the Bible as a way to spread hate. I believe we are called to love."

Currently we don't even know the truth wether God love gays or not but in my opinion if Jesus had a gay relative he definitely wouldn't do what this family did and besides Jesus teaches you to love anyone no matter what even if that person is the worst person you will ever meet in this life all we need to do is be accepting and kind
@RD-um9dy7 жыл бұрын
Yeah although I know there are religion s like this that verse never that because your gay you can't be a Christian. God says in the next verse it doesn't matter what you do good still loves you and died for you. A lot of Christians( I don't even want to call them that) will say things in the Bible that aren't even true but they will shape it to what they want it to say

Yes. I agree i want to tell my mum this but she would just get angry at me. She never listens. What happened in this video what im afraid of for my best friend and i. We are christians born and raised that way. But we are different. And we dont exactly know whether or not it can be fixed. We love God and go to church. My mum thinks that anyone who is gay or trans is just a possesed evil person. I wish i could change her views, but she is the toughest person to talk to. She basically forces me to break down crying about the stupidest subjects. I dont think i could ever tell her wahts going on jn my life. If she wants to know she needs to stop being so judgemental. Just as God said not to judge others.

Yes he does but he doesn't condone sin and homosexuality is a sin. Romans 1:26-28 says: for this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.

It's strange how most churches teach about unconditional love and that gods love is endless and that only god can judge us and how we are created in gods image - but then in the next breath you hear all the exceptions... of which those exceptions are hand-picked selection that small minded bigots pick ... they forget about those who had children out of wedlock, those who have slept with more than one man, those who are divorced, those who have stolen... let's not get started on keeping the Sabbath holy, avoiding seafood and pork on certain days etc... and of course we must conveniently forget that Jesus taught understanding and forgiveness and sat and ate with the thieves, the prostitutes, the beggers, the adulterers etc ... Having said all that - my heart is open... i may not agree with what some people do, but my heart is open to listen and try to at least understand...what harm can two guys loving each other cause??? to be honest, hitting a child, isolating a child, condemning them, trying to change 'gods' creation, forcing your views onto someone, screaming and shouting at them, shaming them -- there is nothing christian in any of that... they are monsters... they looked possessed or they were crazed lunatics --- had they been butt naked having sex in front of everyone in the church, then i could understand the anger (to some degree). Saying "it does get better" is wrong... the correct statement is "it can get better, but it takes time" --- sometimes you do have to stay quiet until the time comes and you feel ready. Sexuality can be very confusing and is not always a simple as gay or straight... you also need to be comfortable with who you are, sometimes it does mean finding that balance with god... just because someone else came out at 13, doesnt mean you have to... it can suck and be lonely to not be out due to fear BUT in time you will become older and able to move out and stand on your own two feet. We are often programmed to think that we should date in school, play around in college, end up with a girl by the end of college who we will later marry, get a house, have kids blah blah blah... society even tries to set age limits for these things "omg you are nearly 30...time is running out" --- really?... people live into their 80's or even 90's - so at 30 you could only be a 1/3 the way through your life... you have plenty to discover love over and over again... granted, if you want to have a child there is kinda a time limit BUT adoption is possible or just live a happy life together - it's annoying when people expect you to have kids (the world is already over populated!!!) Basically... just be you... learn to love you first... plant your feet steady on the ground - it may take time - you don't have to be what others tell you to be...and you certainly shouldnt try running before you can walk!

Amen. I have always felt like an open mind and an open heart are good things there's some truth to every person's story or ideas on almost everything instead of fight why not just get along, or if it's a real struggle, then just stay apart and keep things peaceful.
@boocrimson77205 жыл бұрын
Also coming from somone who has very much not gotten to figure themselves out I can agree it does suck it is lonely but you have to try to find your peace with the big chap upstairs and with yourself. And then it gets easier. Things fall into place and you meet the right people to help you in life. Even if the ones you have around now aren't them you'll find them, and god will find ways of letting you know it's all ok even if he has to repeatedly shove your nose in it for you to get it...like what happened with me. And when I was willing to be open and honest... especially since I was already stressed it was the first time my family was actually kinda there to be the wind beneath my wings. They didn't write me off as a delusional kid (entirely) or get upset like I thought.... it takes time, and honesty, and some courage but I agree it can get better. Sometimes you find what you need to in unexpected places.

I think people forget sometimes that although God had A LOT to write in the bible, it was still written by man, who has been known several times throughout history to twist things for their own gain. you can't tell me that a person who is amazing and loving and helps so many people in their life and does incredible things for God and has nothing but pure love and faith for him, is going to suffer unimaginable pain because they're gay, bi, trans, pan, ect. Idc whether it's really not the best thing to do or not, I can't belive that my God would sentence so many beautiful souls to that fate for not being straight. That goes against everything I've ever been taught about the lord.

This, exactly, is something that gives me peace of mind. It makes absolutely no sense for God to hate or condemn gay people. The God who IS love is supposed to condemn people for loving each other? Excuse me? Especially since the verse in Leviticus could be translated in one of several ways, interpreted in just as many, OR could be one of those "relevant to only this culture at this time" verses, the way the one about women speaking in churches was.

It's becoming less and less rare though. The steps we're taking are slow, but they are nevertheless steps forward. And someday, when people will read history books, they'll learn about this strange phenomenon called "homophobia" which won't exist anymore by then. And they'll call us crazy and cruel for having ever thought that way. I truly believe that someday homophobia will be a part of history and not a still recurring event.

I like how the preacher completely made his own definition of what is loving. I must say, God must have a sense of humor, because I used to think like that, but then I went through puberty and I realized I'm gay, and my current situation isn't real fun.

God doesn't exist. How can people believe in God when millions of children are dying in Africa?? And here people are praying for an athlete to win... So stupid

+Bird C. Yes it is stupid.

+Bird C. people are literally dying everywhere not just Africa, also I belive there is a god because I don't really believe a universe could just make it's self if there was truly no higher power science would have already found a way to make a fully functional human being
@georgecabrera50718 жыл бұрын
You do understand science isn't magic you can't just make a human by knowing what the body is made up of you have to know how to recreate it just because scientists can't do it now doesn't mean they'll never be able to make one plus science is a slow process and major cuts in federal funding aren't helping.
@georgecabrera50718 жыл бұрын
The United States is consistently the largest spender on R&D, followed by China and then Japan. So in general it does affect research but just because not all countries are getting fund cuts doesn't mean, research isn't affected.

Something similar happened I came out to my church at 12 and they said "it's ok," I thought they accepted me and I was happy until the preacher said," we'll prevent you from going to hell and heal you of this disgusting sickness!" It hurt I lost my faith became an atheist and became depressed later I went at 13 with my amazing girlfriend and went to see how my friends were they stopped being my friend and called me disgusting and their parents said I could still be healed I told them I'll come on Sunday, I brought my girlfriend and kissed her in front of them and said this is not a sickness no matter what you say! And am still an atheist but I see a counselor And my gf helps me through my depression... I love this film so much!

OKAY. so.... i dont know if your Christian, or Catholic or whateva... im christian... and 1. God WASHES AWAY ALL SINS... INCLUDING HOMOSEXUALITY 2. God views all sins equally... INCLUDING HOMOSEXUALITY 3. The only thing you have to do to go to Heaven is believe and trust Jesus is God... it doesn't say anything about being perfect 1 Corinthians 6 (the verse the pastor was referencing) 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 *And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.*

This reminds me of the girl I’m in love with. She’s a Christian and her family hates me because I’m trying to remove her from the hands of god. She got transferred away from me, I’m banned from talking to her and seeing her. So we talk secretly. It’s all become a mess all because I’m proud of who I am and since she met me she decided to be proud of herself too. It hurts that they think I’m trying to force something upon her. That’s not me. I let people be themselves because my whole life I’ve been called belittled by family and friends for who I am. I don’t want anybody feeling the same..

Ignatius Thank you but we ended things, it got too messy and the pain of missing each other was hard to deal with. We are good friends still though and both of us moved on from what we used to be onto new people and new things.

I had severe depression and anxiety starting in my early teens and this guy in a couple of my classes was the only person I'd ever actually speak to and he was the only person who made me feel safe and could still actually make me smile. His dad was a Priest. So LITERALLY, the only one who could reach me was the son of a preacher man. This song (any version) still always makes me think of him and smile.

Some people say the beginning is unrealistic, but for many of us it's our reality. When we went to church I would hear sermons like that. As a young bi and trans guy that was awful to hear. I am a bit older now and practice my faith outside of church. This video brought back many memories, and my church was more lax about stuff, except for being in the LGBT+ community. This is amazing. Absolutley, sometime within the last year, the priest said something similar to 'these young people and there 52 different genders, well let me tell you this, there are only two genders male and female, and only they should be together, anything different is a sin against the bible' but at my Mormors church up in Minnesota, the church agreed to marry lgbt couples, and have done so.

I literally started to cry when I saw one of the guys take a chair and rope to the garage. It was really sad that he saw the only way out of this whole situation, but I understand why he wanted to do that.
