Son of Holocaust survivors visits his birth place in Germany

“The hotel that we stayed in was the hospital where I was born and I heard it was packed full of babies during that time.”
Abe Mazliach was born in a camp for so-called Displaced Persons in 1946. His parents Lola and Leon had survived the Holocaust and were waiting in Feldafing, Bavaria, for their turn to emigrate to the USA and start a new life there.
76 years later, in May of this year, he returned to his birthplace.

Abe Mazliach kam 1946 in einem Lager für sogenannte Displaced Persons zur Welt. Seine Eltern Lola und Leon hatten den Holocaust überlebt und warteten im bayerischen Feldafing darauf, in die USA auswandern zu können und dort ein neues Leben zu beginnen. 76 Jahre später kehrte er im Mai an seinen Geburtsort zurück.
