Wyachi is an amazing machine. The idea of suspended hammers acting as both weapon and extra armor is akin to the shell-spinner ideas, but without as much of the risk of being completely trashed if the spinner eats too many bad hits.

I actually think what happened was that the wedge got hit slightly ajar so that it overlapped with the central fork. You can see the fork lift the wedge up at 0:45. As the fork lifted the wedge up it pushed it further than its range of motion and then the blade knocked it behind the central outcrop.

After watching it in slow motion when ghost raptors spinner starts going his left plate starts moving upwards as his spinner is moving down, as that happens the blade hits the left plate breaking the plate off the tread and forcing it into the back and pinning the spinner. Also the chain on the left side twisted up as the plate broke off. Quite funny if you ask me.

Spinners are by far the most spectacularly lethal weapon type. The problem is that Newton's Third Law applies heavily to them. Every massive hit a spinner inflicts, whether it's on a bot or the arena, also exerts an enormous amount of force on itself. This can cause catastrophic damage if the bot gets hurled back at an awkward angle, up-ended by the impact, or simply suffers some kind of structural failure under the strain of the impact. So yes, spinners _are_ kinda OP, but they are also their own worst enemy. This is why it is historically proven that the single best design for defeating a spinner is a heavy wedge, powerful and reliable wheel drives, unbeatable armor, and excellent driving. They will literally smash themselves to pieces on you, and all you should need is a replacement wedge.

Ghost Raptor's flipper hit its own left wedge and made it get lodged in that position jamming the rotor. It's a huge flaw in the design, maybe there was a small gap between the wedge and the flipper, but anty hit can close that gap, there are many of ways they could have prevented this from happening, to bad they overlooked this issue

Tombstone would probably completely wreck SoW. Tombstone is one of the Quickest turning bots so it will have no trouble catching the minibot. On top all the reinforcement of Tombstone are focuses on one Area to absorb the massive force of their blade. Sow has spread their reinforcement around their entire bot like a net allowing SoW to combine offense and defence from every angle. This means that Tombstone will be able to take alot more punishment from a weapon to weapon exchange and will break SoW blade.

SoW's main weakness was also its greatest strength; the power of it's weapon. The sheer recoil sending across the battlebox was cool and all, but hitting those walls was not fun especially at High speeds. Also, if ypu timed it perfectly, a good enough drum spinner could turn SoW into a helicopter and kill it on-impact with the ground

It was clear from 1st second that Ghost Raptor would lose, with a spinner that slow you can't build the velocity to properly damage the enemy, and when it finally became somewhat fast enough, the only thing it damaged was itself

Here's the thing, Ghost Raptor became an instant legend in the last season after destroying ice wave, and when it's intact, ghost raptor is one of the best bots, and Chuck Pitzer is also one of the best drivers. The reason ghost raptor lost is because the weapon match-up was really bad for GR because it's blade, despite being one of the most powerful weapons in the tournament, has poor range. Besides that, GR is probably the most well-defended bot in the tournament, and is extremely maneuverable. He got that wild card because the selection committee saw his potential once before and wanted to see him rise to the top again.

You would be right, but that's not the selection committee's job. The selection committee's job is to select the bots that have the most potential and are most likely to do better in the future, as well as the ones that have the bigger fan-bases. GR fits both these criteria quite well. And before you say that's not very fair or sportsman like, you're right, but you have to remember that the producer's job is not to be fair, but to create interesting and entertaining content for the viewers. Based on its battle, did Disco Inferno deserve the wild card more? Yeah, probably, but would it have gotten as far or been as successful as GR in the long run? Probably not. Therefore, Ghost Raptor made a better wild-card candidate than Disco Inferno despite not doing as well in its fight. That is why GR earned a wild-card.

I think one of the criteria for wild cards is durability, at least if it follows the criteria from last season. That would make GR pretty well out of it because it was beaten before 3 minutes were up and thus isn't durable.

Liam Bellew i cant agree there i have never been impressed by GR not by design or by performance. it is flawed from the start because of lifter+HS combo. the gyroscopic forces tha a bar spiner creates would make the machine unstable if they ever got it up to speed so they cant get it past like 100rpm chuck was undoubtably the most lucky competitor last year and i would rather annother much better team take the spot. doesnt even need to be disco inferno what about lets say photon storm, they lost in a similar way to quite litterly the most succesful team in the sports history if you are going to give GR lighway for getting a bad matchup then what about those guys?
