fan-fucking-tastic this is amazing and it would be such a hard song to play live, like just for tony to find somewhere to breathe is nigh on impossible, and with the guitar and keys that fast just impossible for anyone but Sonata god I love this song

i thought that for a while Jani´s live sets sound so bass on open strings, i love it! Theres a tab on the internet that i think is not acurate, Jani plays the low part of the armony on the intro here I think live they switch between keys and guitar F# harmonic minor for the intro, that is waht i figure out after a while

Jani didn't really leave.... in Finland (much like in MANY other countries in the world). Military service isn't optional... it's required. Some countries have an age limit that you must do your minimum time of service (dunno about Finland). Jani never did service... so the nation basically caught wind of it, and took him in to dig ditches, clean plazas, etc. (which is what he is most likely doing now) a shame really..... Kakko has really taken this band in a sour direction.

This riff can NOT be sweep picked, it's not playing arpeggios. For what I could see on his right hand he is just alternate picking really fast. It's just practice. A good choice for a slower player would to play the riff using pull offs and economy picking. Cheers!

I find it much harder with using pulloff and hammeron. Alternate picking is the best option, though it takes more time to master it. It gives some specific meaty sound to the lead, I belive

Tony started to sing live REALLY good 2004 onward. 1999 - 2003 sounds... I don't know. He doesn't do it for me. There's this AMAZING 2004 recording of Wolf & Raven in Tavastia, and he sounds amazing, way better than here or Songs of Silence.

He was tired. If you listen to other Wolf & Raven's performances, like the medley Wolf & Raven / Fullmoon, here's the God. In Japan they made the great mistake of playing such a difficult song between the last ones. Sorry for my bad English, I'm still Italian and I'm very very sleepy xD

ok heres my opinion, they DO alot better than dragonforce live. but honesly.. if your gonna make a song on your album thats so high you cant match the pitch live. then just make it a lower pitch to begin with.. and its not just sonata arctica that does this, alot of power metal bands do this.. it annoys me..

It's too bad Tony's off here, otherwise it's a fantastic performance of an amazing song by an incredible band. He's usually amazing too : / And it's not just that it's lower and angrier, he legitimately misses notes a lot here, regardless of key Oh well, still amazing, still love 'em.
