Brilliant video, I loved the comparison of the different concentrations it was very interesting to see how they all performed alongside each other. Poorboy’s Strip Down is not the cheapest, but it has never let me down to be honest, and it is so user friendly product, also adds up so much to the lubricity of the wash and foams up so well. Plus I like to try many different LSPs, so basically they barely wear off that quick I would change them and it is so helpful to get rid off them effortlessly. Thanks for watching and I’m glad that the video could give you something useful. Let me know how you get on with the Strip Down and what will be your thoughts on it. 🙏

There is absolutely no doubting that the first panel application (full strength) yielded the best results. That water seems to just fly off that panel. The panels using the diluted BSD seems to have really cut down the hydrophobic properties over when it is used full strength. Maybe use the diluted strength's as your drying aide or first quick application and then follow it up full strength on a damp microfiber applicator and then wipe it off with a plush microfiber. That would probably give stellar results! I'm going to give that a try with my bottle of BSD.
@joevanseeters28733 жыл бұрын
Another complementary product that works well with BSD their polymer based Spray and Seal. One of the best "spray and seal" or quick sealant products out there. And being polymer based it complements polymer sealants quite well too! I use the spray and seal on all my exterior plastics, rims and wheel arches, grille, inside the engine compartment, and even spritz it on my undercarriage after I give that a thorough clean. Buy it by the 5 liter refill bottle for a much better deal. I do tend to go through more of that type of product because I spray it liberally to yield excellent results once I pressure wash it off. Just about everything Sonax put's out is a fantastic product. I have tried just about everything in their consumer line up and it all works as stated and is a pretty good value for money for how well it works.

No doubt about the hydrophobicity of BSD used neat, but I used to find it seemed to attract a lot of dust to the bodywork and it's not the glossiest either, so since then I've moved on to Done and Dusted SI, a lot easier to apply, glossier, does not seem to attract dust as much. It's not quite as hydrophobic as BSD, but still good and it's so much easier on your arms. Also, thanks on your tip for Strip Down, I will have to give that a try!
@RoadToDetailing3 жыл бұрын
I have to agree on the stickiness of dust you have mentioned, same as on the gloss level which isn’t being outstanding at all. I love BSD because of it’s great hydrophobic properties 😎 Also, I’m aware of that, most of the time water sheeting has more advantage than water beading, but it’s going down to personal preference at the end of the day. PB’s Strip Down is a great choice for a strip wash before applying new LSP on the paintwork, also adds so much more slickness and suds to the contact wash regardless the choice of car shampoo. It never failed me just yet, but I’m planning to make content to show it’s full potential against some sealants, but I need to organize the participants of that “fight” yet 🙂
@Jousten163 жыл бұрын
Sorry but that's utter bullshit lmao. Due to the high hydrophic there is usually much less dirt and especially dust collecting on the car compared to most other products. The rather rough feeling after application is usually done for after a few days or the first rain. Besides, NO spray paint sealant really adds any gloss to the car or paintwork, the paintwork itself has to be in really good condition for proper gloss and reflection. The application and processing is also one of the easiest out there, spray it on the car, spread it once and then buff it off. Never had any problems here.
@sanmiguel40193 жыл бұрын
@@Jousten16 Glad that it works for you, I've moved on to something else and I love it, it may not be as hydrophobic as BSD but it's a lot easier to apply and the paintwork is definitely slicker and glossier.
@RoadToDetailing3 жыл бұрын
@@Jousten16 thanks for sharing your experience. I would add some of mine to yours as I have different experience after used BSD quiet some times and alongside with other products. I agree with that, the application is not too hard, I had no issues since I use that, either way. For me, BSD absolutely the stickiest product I have used, and it never went away, even after several rains. The other thing, we, end users considering BSD as being closer to a sealant, because we think it gives more than just a QD and it does. However, Sonax positioned this product as a QD, and most QD's don't offer long term protection (BSD hasn't either), but many times claims high gloss level. My paintwork is quiet crappy, no argue on that, but I had several products, which left really high gloss shine, so I am kindly disagree on that the product has to be in perfect condition. Many gloss enhancers in QD's for example, or in some sealants (depending on the chemical they use) tends to fill up some minor imperfections, hence gives better look. Just to give you something on your statement "NO spray paint sealant really adds any gloss to the car or paintwork, ...." Here is Car-Chem Hydrocoat Hybrid Spray Sealant: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bWOzaqZ8nNiYkJY Worth to have a look, because all you have mentioned it's there: gloss, filling capabilities, hydrophobic properties. Lastly, for me, BSD collects dust and the finish it gives aren't the best either, at least not for my taste and as a QD. One of the best thing I like BSD is the phenomenal water behaviour and it's lovely scent. Other than that, I think there is better QD's out there, but they cannot beat BSD on the water behaviour I mentioned, same as value for money. That's my opinion only and I am glad you shared yours, that's what is all about! Viktor

Hello, I want to perform the following routine on my vehicle. -wet it with a karcher -spray sonax activefoam energy snowfoam -spray an APC koch chemie green star on the black plastic parts of the bumpers, shaking it with a brush -rinse with a karcher -wash with a microfiber glove with soap car like mr pink chemical guy or meguiars ultimate wash & wax. -rinse again -dry the vehicle. Once the vehicle is completely dry I want to finish the vehicle and I chose to order BSD Sonax I would apply with a microfiber and another microfiber to wipe (buff) the product. This video makes me the question if i should use BSD without dilution, diluted 50% with deionized water or diluted 2/3 BSD and 1/3 deionized water. I read that it was easier to wipe it off if diluted, what would be the best dilution according to you to have an easy application and easy wiping while having a good shine and an effective and lasting beading effect. BSD must be applied exclusively to the painted bodywork or can it be applied to exterior plastics and headlights? I imagine that it should not be put on the windows of the vehicle? I hope to read your answer to help me in advance thank you.
@RoadToDetailing2 жыл бұрын
Hi LDV CBI, Sounds you have a good plan for wash and protect your car. I suggest use BSD neat (with no dilution) for the best and longest performance (shine and beading). Only thing to pay attention is that not to over apply, 2 - 3 mists on each panel is more then sufficient. Then spread it equally and buff off with a second dry cloth. Buff off might be a little grabby, but not all the time. I believe that diluting down can help to easier application, but weakening its performance and longevity. Yet, with a bit of pay attention it’s easy to apple neat as well. (As I do in the video, I had no issues t all. The key is using small amount) I would only suggest using BSD on paintwork. No windows, nor plastic. However, I don’t personally think you’d have a problem on plastic and rear windows. But it’s made to be used on paintwork only. Hope it helps, Viktor

@RoadToDetailing3 жыл бұрын
Thank You Dilpreet 🙏 I think that BSD can be a good topper or an additional layer above the paste wax you applied, as it’s being a “quick detailer”. Just keep that in mind, all the water behavior will come from the top layer of the protection, which in that case would be BSD (if you will apply that on top), and it will be the case until it “wears off”, but you can keep top it up during maintenance washes or until your next wax applications. Also, using BSD on top, will protect your paste wax application, which will last longer 👌 Hope it helps!
