Sondors LCD P and C Settings

I just installed the upgraded controller and this display from Electro Bike World, and used this video to get into the settings, so thank you VERY much! The settings were a bit different because it's a RadMini 4, and I was not sure about upgrading because I liked the refined power delivery of the stock setup, but wow, what an animal now. Hitting about 1200 watts now on acceleration, and the cruise control is a joy!

Hi Altema22, I ordered this for my Radmini 4. Just curious how the larger controller fit on your bike? Was there enough room to mount where the current controller is located? Any issues on mounting? Thanks

I noticed you set the wheel diameter to 29" even though the rim is 26" so I should do the same and consider the tire the true diameter?

Yes, that is the way the factory sets it up.

That’s strange, I would have thought exactly like you did. I haven’t changed those myself, and I do not own that bike any longer, otherwise I would be happy to test it. Hopefully someone else will be able to chime in and help. 👍

I don’t know for sure, but I would guess probably not. I believe Rad programs, their LCDs and controllers to run as a pair. I believe it’s pretty cheap to buy a Controller LCD combo nowadays though.

Can you help me out, I have installed my 1500w 62v backwheel kit, my batteries are fully charged, as I tryed turning the crank standing still it is stuck fast, and when I use my throttle it powers up and spins for about 5 seconds then the screen goes dark and the battery says its empty, have I set it up wrong, jfk

Ripstudwell 432 it’s been a while since I’ve worked on the Sondors, but I know people were buying the $20 controllers and were able to wire them in. It wasn’t usually a direct fit on the wiring, but you could use crimp connectors or solder and hook them up. I didn’t realize controllers are down to $12 now. That’s a really low price! what number what u put it on for a 48 volt battery for c5?

I'm not really sure as I never did get a chance to update my battery before I sold my bike. I think on the 52v batteries they were running around 05? That's if I remember correctly. You could always try a low number like that and see what results you get. If it's too low power, you can always up it one at a time till it feels right. Of course, if you over power the motor, you can cause it to wear out more quickly, but I don't believe 48v was an issue on the stock motor.

Yes, I'm sorry about that. On a phone, it is a little hard to read for sure. I don't believe these settings will work on your LCD anyways. I've sent you links to what I believe to be your screen on your other posts. If those are correct, I can find you more info, just let me know...

As far as I’m aware, there is no easy way to get rid of the passcode. I think you need to have a working LCD, and pull the firmware from that LCD so you can flash it to the Locked LCD. I would try the easy combinations. All 0000, 1111, 2222, etc. 1234 4321 Your birthday, your kids birthday, etc.

Power ON the Battery. Press and Hold the Middle Power Button until screen lights up. Within 4 seconds, Press and Hold Up/Down Buttons until the settings menu shows. Max Speed will flash. Press and hold Up/Down until you see P1 option flashing. Press and hold Up/Down until you see C1 option flashing. Tap Middle Power Button until you see ‘C3 2’. Tap Down Button to show ‘C3 1’. Press and Hold Middle Power Button to save settings and go back to main screen. Now when you power on, it should start in Mode 1. If you get lost, power off the battery to go back to what it was without saving wrong settings.

@@SuperSport1966 I have Sondors Fold X, and I was following the steps. After I turned on my bike, then held down the + and - button, max speed did not flash. For me a menu popped up that showed EC- (then a flashing upside down U) I can toggle between that U thing and a Y. If I click, “i”(between the plus and minus) it lets me select between 1,2,3, where I could adjust my brightness. If I click it one more time, it lets me toggle between miles per hour and kilometers. It seems we don’t have the same menu controls.

@@anthonyfakhoury7427 I've just finished searching everywhere I can find. I found a manual, but they don't mention anything about changing the startup value when the bike powers on. The Original Sondors was much easier... I'll keep looking and if I find anything, I'll post back here.

Maybe check your P5 setting. That's the one that tells the screen how to read your battery levels.

Nick Walters I’ve never run into that myself, but things I would check... Is the battery powered on? Is the power switch on at the throttle controller? Follow the LCD cable back to the controller and verify it’s plugged in all the way. On rare occasion those plugs can come lose. Maybe pull the connection apart and re-plug. Be sure both sides are aligned correctly. There are marks on the two sides of the plugs that should line up.

@@SuperSport1966 I've blown it up one of the transistors as my control box is wired different so I've had to swap the wires around and I think the blue wires touch the positive wire looked on ebike forum some is had the same problem dam

p2 is how much senscors have motor, to make one turn. your motor have 6 sensors, my have 1 sensor, so in my bike p2 is one. if i set it to 2 then speed show double slower, than it is.

BroManz That is what it's for, but in the forums people recommend you don't use it. I guess if you forget what it is, it renders your LCD useless. Personally, I don't think I'd forget, but that's just me...

It's 3 digits, all numbers. Pretty easy to use. Here's the instructions (Sorry, it was written in China): C9 is meter power-on password setting mode. The default value is 0, hold button (UP) or button (DOWN) shortly for selection. C9 parameter definition table： C9 value Startup password setting 0 Function off 1 Function on When C9 setting is 1, hold button (SW) shortly, indicating that the password function is startup, and then enter the password settings interface, three password setting columns flash. ELECTRIC BICYCLE METER - LCD3 Product User Manual - 31 - Password Setting Interface The password setting is done sequentially from left to right, hold button shortly to confirm after each setting and enter next setting. Password setting range is 000-999, hold button (UP) or button (DOWN) shortly for selection. Please note：If you forget your password, the parameters can only be copied (see parameter copy) by data source meter prier to be decoded. After finishing C9 parameter setting, hold button (SW) shortly to save the current set values and enter C10 parameter setting interface

Password is poor security anyway. I mean a thief can still just peddle the bike away….then sell it to some unsuspecting person. Also you can just patiently try say 100 to 200 pw combos per day and by the end of a week you’ll have been through them all, presumably unlocking the screen at some point huh!

Glen Garden Original Sondors in USA are 350 Watt. In Europe, I believe 250 Watt. New Sondors X are 500 Watt if I remember correctly.

the first time i found that facade i thought it was the year 2020 but i did it and i went out then when i turned off and on the display and got stuck on 0000 i unlocked lh100 another display but to do it i had to make three codes 0000 6666 3745 but i tried to do it on this and it doesn't work

grant clive That is a good recommendation. If the password is forgotten, they only way to recover the LCD is to re-flash the stock Firmware using another stock LCD.

We've had 4 people in the FB group have trouble with the LCD password. They swear they knew it, or they didn't know they set it. Renders LCD useless unless you sit there and guess 1000 combinations

Mike Ritchie Yeah, I wouldn’t recommend using it. I guess there is a way to restore the LCD, but it’s not simple.
