Hers is an incredibly difficult voice to record. Some sinners sound the same in person as they do on record. SHE does not. Recordings can't prepare you for how spectacular her voice really is. Having heard her live, this recording is the closest I've heard to what it's actually like to experience her voice in person

I am risking now being killed by the Callas worshippers, but I am convinced Callas would be envious listening to Sondra's singing.

There are aspects of her singing in which she may exceed many of her illustrious predecessors…. I agree with Nathan Davis that recordings seldom do her Justice and they tend to exaggerate the metallic quality of her voice. The voice has so many colours and overtones microphones don’t seem able to capture it all… although this is pretty good, maybe 75/80%. Like Callas her sometimes steely tone and vibrato don’t appeal to everyone but in performance she is utterly spellbinding. Delighted to see this posted here. I think it may be from Teatro Colon Buenos Aires in July 2022 ?.

Take away the Callas worshipping and you are left with this: 1) A real dramatic soprano voice both thick and heavy, and cutting edge or metallic. And an agility in her prime that nobody in the history of opera had. Sondra has a cutting edge metallic voice but she has no weight. It is a tall voice but it is not heavy like Callas voice and Sondra also does not have any coloratura so they simply can not be compare in any type of way. They are such different voices.
