Dude, your advices are gold. In the tone of video about this topic. Yours are the more accurate and usefull that I saw. It unlock few things that I misunderstood before watching your videos. Particularly the position of the elbow facing each other. Thank to you my handstands and my kick up are better and better. And I now can press to handstand.

I think this may me the first time I ever leave a comment on KZbin. We hear all the time finger tips finger tips finger tips. But your point about focusing on palms to counter balance… for me perso a game changer. Thank you!

Fantastic video. I was doing chest to wall handstands for close to a month , trying to get both my feet off the wall. however it felt impossible for me. I then tried to take one leg off the wall, still felt impossible. I tried so hard to press into the heels of my hand but it just didnt happen. I saw this video, and realised that my arms were externally rotated ( elbow pit facing forward ). i then understood how to internally rotate the shoulders, and made my elbow pits face each other, i went to the wall and did the chest to wall handstand, trying to get both feet off, and just like that both feet came off the wall. I am so happy with this form cue. THANK YOU SOOO MUCH. I WILL NOW WORK ON THIS LITTLE TIP AND TRY TO ACCUMULATE TIME ON MY HANDS. SHOULDER INTERNAL ROTATION AMD ELBOW PITS FACING EACH OTHER IS A GAME CHANGING TIP.

I am happy to hear this was a game changer for you. Learning to properly correct under balance is what will make the difference between getting lucky every now and then with semi long holds to consistently being able to hold until the cramps take you 💪

Inward rotation of the shoulders he is explaining is really in fact hunching the shoulders forwards into protraction which makes the elbows pits automatically turn into internal rotation

I am not able to kick up to a handstand yet - I fall forward and then go into the handstand against the wall but this was a wonderful explanation of technique that I need to apply as I progress from where I am now. So thank you so much....look forward to your videos that are basic and yet very advanced.

Thank you, I just unlocked my handstand progress :D I knew I do not have enough weight on the fingers, just did not know how to correct it. Maybe just a language barrier, but simple sentence with shoulder pits facing inside was exactly what I needed to hear.
@sunji53902 жыл бұрын
I always use the first method because I found out I dont have enough shoulder flexibility, now working on my flexibility hopefully makes balancing easier.

Thank you so much this is the video I needed to see. I currently can only handstand 3-5 seconds maybe closer to 10 if I'm lucky but I think you just gave me the key to unlocking my handstands. I'll checkout the app because I would love to work up to hand balancing poses and eventually 1-arm.

Every time I go into a handstand, my elbow pits are automatically pointing to each other, so I figured to be able to generate momentum to stop underbalance, I would have to get them to be pointing forward when I go into a handstand. No matter what I do, they are always pointing to eachother.

I read that most tutorials recommend external rotation of the shoulder when hand standing , I understand you recommend otherwise??
@Sondre_Berg3 жыл бұрын
Yes, internal for hand balancing. Exeternal rotation is for certain gymnastics elements and I believe there has been some confusion in some parts of the handstand community regarding this. In gymnastics, handstands is used in an entirely different way and they don’t emphasise balance to the same extent. So I am not at all saying that this is wrong, it is simply dependent on what you want to use your handstand for. If you at some point want to start your OAHS journey, then internal rotation is a must (not actually, but very useful at least)
