Can't you just move the shatter comp 3 seconds along in the timeline, and for the first 3 seconds have a normal text layer. Trim the normal text layer to 3 seconds so that the it is only visible for the 3 seconds before the shatter layer

This example of multiple Shatter effects is tremendous overkill. It took 2 hours 40 minutes to render a 15 second clip on my very fast Intel i9 computer and is not visually better than the use of a single Shatter effect which is rendered in 30 seconds.

Doesn't work, at least in the most updated version. It instantly shatters image but doesn't move and just stays how it is.
