I have now finalised the instrument panel design. I have also committed to riveting the glare shield to the upper longerons and installed the fuel tank.

Excellent video Andy 🙂 It's good to see the decision processes that your going through. The instrument panel is going to look fantastic. I like the pod for the switches and mixture control. Lots of aircraft have their mixture controls separate and it means that you can operate it from both seats 👍. Where are you going to put the throttle?. I didn't think that there was enough room between the bottom of the panel and the control stick to mount a pod. Maybe my stick is longer than yours 😁 I will have to check 🤔 Keep up the good work it's looking really great and a professional job.

Hi Gavin, Thanks for the comments, throttle is going on the left side where the mixture was to go. I am actually getting the same stick a Ray Allan G101 as yours, hoping there is enough clearance as necessary.

I don’t know what’s going on with my comments, but yours and 3 others have popped up again as if I didn’t answer. I am glad you are enjoying this build, as I am watching your videos.

Hello Andy, thanks for another fantastic video. I am learning a lot. I finished the tail, or as much as needed at this point. I am waiting on the shipment of the rest of the Waiex B kit. Then it’s build time. I opted to build the wings first because I will able to store them easily while working on the fuselage. Limited shop space is the problem. I want to go with the MGL set up with an iPad docking on the right side. What was your process in deciding what MGL products to go with ? Did you call Sonex or MGL?

Hi Robert, well done on your build so far. Are you documenting it on EEA or? as far as MGL, I dwelled over it for a few months and endied up commiting to using a complany here in Australia. They are very helpfull in fact are helping with avionices wiring diagram, to the point belive they will even supply the wiring after I measure it all up. I still have a great deal to learn on the avionices but is starting to make some logic. I believe Sonex should be able to do the same, but my suggestion is ask first? where in the world are you situated?

I live in Big Bear California USA, building in my garage and will move to a hangar when the time is right. I am documenting the build on EAA as well as written Mechanic log and photos on google docs. I am taking advantage of the few months while waiting for the kit to study and watch videos. Your videos are top notch and very informative, thank you once again. Rob

Andy, good work mate. Do you plan to lining the tank straps with any sort of protective "cushy" material or leave as is?

Per the plans there is no cushy material. See the responses to the IvanMidwing comment!

No filt between the tank and straps?
@pandyseven

Hi Ivan, "filt" not quite sure what you mean? do you mean fit? as in tight?
@bryancotton7279

I think he means felt. Common on Cessnas to have felt between the tank straps and the tank. The bad thing about felt is it holds moisture. I restored a 1946 C140 and there was corrosion under there. No corrosion issues with the plastic tank, also no chafe issues as the plastic is much tougher than aluminum. Felt is not specified in the plans nor is it necessary.
